    Combat logging increase

Doing more damage would help, you need to hit with more than 4/5 ak74 rounds to kill a player, if there agile that means more than enough time to combat log, i've seen this a bunch of times. Bullets should have much more ability to knockout/stun players. Two rounds to the center mass should be more than enough to put a player down. At the moment the anti material rifle is the only cure, and now they are very rare. Otherwise forget the hacker excuse, if you combat log under fire, your dead at the next log in, blanket rule, hackers or no hackers.

L85 Should it stay or go

IMHO its not effective in the majority of combat situations, useful in combination with a sniper in certain map locations (NWAF, counter sniping in C & E). Not very accurate beyond 400 meters, and near useless for long range sniping on its own, as you can't see where your shots are hitting. Comes into its own as a counter sniper in Electro and Cherno. In most situations the Mark I eyeball is a better bet. Multiple hits need for a kill mean its near useless against a real sniper rifle (unless your target sits there). Close up the lack of awareness caused by the infrared sights mean your at a distinct disadvantage at short ranges. Its great advantage is its ability to cut through fog. In Short Cons - lacks punch and accuracy at range - Unable to tell 9 times out of ten if your rounds are on target - Sights are unsuitable for short range encounters - Distinctive sound alerts others to its thermal qualities Pros - See's through fog - In combination with a real sniper rifle it is an excellent tool - Great for a lone wolf who wants to avoid other players.
  3. Frankie, he really seems to enjoy playing DayZ and can be very funny, plus he is ice cool under fire.

Why do you even play dayz ?

Play a server with side chat enabled, people tend to help each other out, I've grouped with other player quite a lot like this. It changes the game imho. I would never trust anyone on a server without it.
  5. Spawned on the coast with nothing, ran all the way to the other side of the map, found and looted my dead body (no flies), and breath, yeah!

    Hackers. Hackers everywhere.

I've been killed by hackers twice, both on Green Mountain, I've also been killed on very low pop maps in places like Kemenka in ways that arouse suspicion. One of the Servers was RU8, it was today about 530 GMT, I sneaked into the main gate and was teleported off the map and dropped from a great height, there goes 6 hours of hard work, lol.... I am knocking it on the head for a while, I love the game and the concept, I really think we will see many more in its wake, but the ARMA2 engine was not meant for DAYZ and is ripe for exploitation. Whats the moral? stay out of Green Mountain....
  7. First time poster, long time lurker. Perhaps there is a solution. The people most at risk of losing it all to the roll of the dice are the lone survivors. No matter how safe you play someday you get sloppy and Boom! If your in a group you at least have certain level of redundancy, someone has your back, or at least a blood bag and a DMR on overwatch. In a real Zombie meltdown at first there would be a certain we're all in it together attitude us v the zombies, as in the game most people would rub along shouting "Friendly" and playing nice. After a while when supplies start to run out (or on DayZ when the pleasures of hunting for tins of beans begins to pale) bandits would realize that there was no one to prevent them from taking what they need be it a LA85 AWS (you know who you are!) or scarce food. At this point all a survivor is is a bandit without a (decent) gun, to the other guy, while you may want to avoid him, he does not want to avoid you. Perhaps there is the possibility of supra factions. When you would run across a member of your supra faction (perhaps identified by an armband or such) you hold fire, this would allow the possibility for lone survivors to build an adhoc raiding parties. As in real life like minded people would band together for safety. Imagine the feeling of spotting a survivor in the trees, carefully taking aim only to realize he's one of yours, after hours of roaming the wilderness alone and afraid you found a buddy or three.. Of course this would make the life of a bandit more exciting, as word of there activities in an area would spread more faction members would converge to eliminate the theat. Team killing and such would result in you losing your arm band and becoming a bandit and fair game, and never being able to rejoin (which would certainly make people think again) I also think that it would make bandits real bandits, not just player who kill and loot you, but real outcasts from respectable society.... What would be interesting is how multiple factions would rub along, would some have friendly relations, others be sworn enemies? would there be have temporary truces in order to kill common enemies? The game (and its the most interesting one I've played in years) is set up to make it player v player, unless you have a couple of friends to play with, this would make it gang v gang. Anyway fire away!
