Well, thanks to Radiix for that :) So its a Lingor @ Radiix powered by Byrgesen ? LOL Who is administrating it? Someone else now messing up the database? :P EDIT: Any chance we can set additional (temporary) servers up for the new maps too, so Chernarus wont be offline during a possible "Fallajah" event? I would even offer my 2nd machine, as long as its not supposed to be online for months. -

Youre serious, guys? That map got almost no details, it looks scraggy, unfinished and as if the creator only put some buildings and trees randomly along some streets. And what about those mounted guns on vehicles? Thats not DayZ anymore, its Left 4 Dead meets Crysis. Thought we were all having fun in Chernarus again, even if -or especially because- its not as "difficult" as on public servers, but well, if you want some kind of Deathmatch Arena, go ahead... I definitetely don't. -

Wires seem to be bugged, removing them dont delete them in database, so every server restart, theyre back. I doubt anyone is retarded enough to spend all his time to rebuild those removed fences and sandbags every restart... not sure though ;) -

Well, I dont agree. I logged off when it was getting really dark and it was around 1am. That means, there will never be night for me on this server anymore unless I decide to play through the (RL) night. I see that playing in darkness isnt convenient, but I really miss the times when the server was synched to real CET time. GMT-1 was an acceptable tradeoff, but now its gonna be far too easy at least for european players. EDIT: Plus: I love the thrill of a pitch-black night :) -

Thats simply not the case or ppl are using map hacks to find hidden vehicles. 2 hidden ATVs in the woods at different locations disappeared over night, before that, the inventory of one of them was totally messed up. Not cool. Apart of that, I would hate having full moon all the time and every night, cause DayZ is or at least should be much about fright. If noone is afraid of the dark anymore, the game will be just a shadow of what it has been. -

Well, if you could increase the zombies only in towns and major cities, i wouldnt object, but it would be ridiculous if 20 zeds spawn off a deer stand or a shed near a dirt road. ^_^ -

Could you make a poll on that, Byrg? Cause I really think we got enough zombies. This would only result in people being forced to visit Stary and NW airfield more often to ammo up again. -

Hmm, there are likely to be situations, where friends are parking up to or more than 5 vehicles at a camp site, so we need a script that detects if a vehicle is teleporting and then sets it back to its last saved location, if this is possible. -

Well, if we will be using custom scripts, BattlEye needs to be turned off, but that wouldnt be a big loss and we all know it ;) IMO, the most important hacks that need to be prevented or at least detected are 1. Teleport Hacks a ) Players teleporting -> Onscreen Message and optional instant kick/ban (needs to ignore "teleports" due to death though) b ) Vehicles gettings teleported -> Onscreen Message and optional teleportion back to their last saved position OR admin script to manually reset ALL vehicles to their last saved position in database 2. Summon Hacks a ) Players getting high end stuff too fast (dont know how to detect that) -> Onscreen Message and optional kick/ban b ) Vehicles getting summoned -> Onscreen Message and instant deletion of that vehicle 3. Invulnerability Hacks a ) Players not loosing health when being shot or regaining health too fast -> Onscreen Message and optional kick/ban Just my first thoughts... -

Byrgesen, we got hacked twice yesterday. The first time, all vehicles were teleported west of Kaminka and it took us almost an afternoon to get some of them back and destroying the unowned ones. Second time must have happened during the night or early this morning, cause my truck is gone again and it was hidden very well. Seems like BattlEye still isnt helping shit against some annoying scripts so I vote for reenabling a password to keep out hackers visiting servers by random. DuggeDank und Ripper have offered to help us create some custom anti-hacker scripts and what they were saying sounded awesome and still simple enough to me. Could you please delete all destroyed vehicles and the ones without any inventory in it, so new ones can spawn? -

I admit it, I am a Chernarus fanboy :) Lingor was a nice, little place for vacation, but now that the server switched back to the original map, its feeling like coming home. Like Byrgesen said, the long distances, endless woods and meadows are what adds to the feeling of being a lone survivor of an apocalypse. Having to run several miles for your gear and searching for vehicles is what makes it feel worth it and you will regard your efforts much higher cause you worked hard for it. Therefor you will take much more care to stay alive and defend/hide your belongings. Plus you will always think twice (or even thrice), cause dying in the northern part will make you have a nasty long walk back to your corpse. That simply is what DayZ is supposed be. -

Cherno?? Cherno is a city, guys, not the map LOL I am happy about the map change, not happy about the FFA concept, and i dont even understand a bit about the new zone map. I mean "The Badlands - Here be dragons" ... any fantasy modded into the game recently? ;) "Let them rest in peace", is yellow now friendlier than green? or more dangerous? No clue, really. Now only thing i really hope for is a persistent, longer lasting database this time. And if new maps are released, it would be nice if those are run on a different server/database, so we arent forced to move back and forth all the time. -

So you really installed MySQL instead of XAMPP? I am wondering if the Bliss Perl scripts would work with XAMPP, as long as Strawberry Perl is used... Btw, what was the difficult step you stumbled over and how did you solve it? -

Sure, as I said, I am only experimenting on my server just to see if I can modify stuff to my own liking. For example, I am using a modified vehicle spawn script that is deleting every vehicle, that wasnt found so far, first and after that, generating new, fresh vehicles from the pool. But thats just personal taste. If its possible I would like to get the Holos flashlight working and being able to attach the military flashlight to the shoulder on Chernarus as it is possible on Lingor. A faster initial item spawning when approaching buildings would be nice too, to prevent finding complete empty places. Still need to look deeper into it. -

Well, if you were as good in setting up databases as in deleting them... ;) Maybe you could share your knowledge regarding Bliss after your server is ready again. Ive been experimenting with the dayz pbo files and managed to modify the code so loot and zombies also spawn when driving in a vehicle. It works, but still got some flaws, like less responsiveness of controls while steering and in rare occasions, zombies need a very long time to spawn, like there was a max spawn limit in a specific time interval. But nonetheless, it was exciting to get it to work that way and seeing zombies run around and towards you when youre driving through towns and cities. Its definitely much more immersive. -

Byr, havent you read the bugs ppl are reporting about 1.7.2.6? Tent saving and duping are still issues plus reports about worse server stability.
