I don't understand how most of you think the OP is "Whining" you're getting the false impression that he hates the game or something. The Vehicle/tent issue is a huge problem, definitely worth mentioning. It's not like he blatantly said "hey Dayz sucks, CoD rules, Rocket is lame". No, he's worried as all of us should be. It is an alpha I know, people stress this enough. But it is also a period for bug fixing, and this particular one is big and has been around for a while with little to no news about the progress.

I just got a 70 slot monster server that I really want to max out. I've been actively managing logs so hackers are not a problem. I get the fastest loading times here (5-10) seconds. Most players I've had are 15. So if you're searching for a server for you and your buddies come join us in US 2972. :D

Thank you! I applied the 1.62 patch installer again and it patched the PMC files. I had no idea you had to patch them. o_0 Is it the same thing for British Armed Forces?

I want the high-res player models because the current ones are pretty bad.. So which one am I supposed to get? I was told both. Also if I get them through steam even though I bought the game from Amazon, will the DLC still work?

I use an M107. It sounds like the sniper rifle from Halo 1. :D

Try low population servers.. or private hives. I haven't been script killed for a week or so.

Mainly a host that offers a central server, either Kansas City or Dallas. I think I might want to get a 50 or more slot server. Best I've seen is $45 for 70 slots. I'm defiantly willing to go higher if the price is right. I would like to be able to(if possible, if not I'll still buy): Set up a private hive? adjust vehicle spawns? adjust starter items? Enable side chat? This ones kind of important to me because I think it enhances the community part of DayZ.

Bought a server about 5 hours or more ago. Still on pending. Not sure how long this process takes but then again I'm not in a huge rush. Will post a review when I get up and running.

It seems like they offer a good service. I like the fact they only host DayZ servers. I might make a purchase from them pretty soon, I'll be sure to post a review.

It would be fun, and at the same time adds a little variety to the survivors. Colors within reason of course, like white, black, brown etc. Obviously you wouldn't want to run around with a pink shirt... well.... unless you really wanted to. We already get randomly generated colors, why not offer a choice? Perhaps have different colored shirt/pants scattered around the world? I do understand this isn't some kind of fashion game. But some variety wouldn't hurt. At least I can customize my face. :D

I live in Kansas and there are tons of plain/field areas that look like they came out of DayZ. And every once in a while I hallucinate thinking I saw a crouching Survivor or something. I've gone past addict. :| I went to Walmart today the first thing I thought about was looting for food.

This. I did read your post however, and still I say you should play on a private server. Sure there is an occasional hacker, but once they're banned from the private hive they're gone for good. And if you do by chance lose all your gear, you can get it back pretty quickly with the high amounts of vehicles on the server. So yeah.. play a private hive. I usually play on ZUST or Finders. Survival Ops is pretty intense too.

I got killed while I was in my UAV. Ever since I was killed I keep respawning with a long ass hourglass and it's really annoying. And it's not even respawning, if I d/c for any reason and come back I get the same thing. Is there anything I can do to counter this? I tried closing my game during the hourglass but it still gave it to me when I came back.

Okay, we all know DayZ has become somewhat of a deathmatch. Zombies aren't really much of a threat anymore. So I thought I might throw some ideas forward, they probably have been mentioned before.. but oh well! Boss Zombies: There's no way that every zombie on an entire continent should be the same exact zombie. There should be stronger zombies, boss zombies perhaps that are a little more of a threat than you're average joe zombie. This is how I would do it: Set to spawn boss zombies in high heat areas like the air fields, or 1-3 in Elektro. These can be buffer, more mutated zombies that can spit acid/run faster/hit harder/etc. These zombies have higher chances to spawn loot, and a low chance to spawn rare loot. Perhaps a costume that gives you torn up zombie clothes? The possibilities are endless. I was really surprised that the soldier zombies don't pose a greater threat than the regulars. This should be expanded on too. I would just really like to see the zombie aspect improved. Mainly because it would make teamwork more popular and PvE a challenge.

It's a group of people who enjoy a show. They enjoy it so much they make sure everybody knows by using names/sigs/pictures etc. They say they're not shoving down throats.. but in reality they are. They will follow a pattern, just like the Furries did. I personally don't care for them. I just wish the producer of MLP would go back to making cool shows like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I really enjoyed that!

I'm trying to play on this server called Bashurverse 1 and everytime I spawn my character knocks out. I can't d/c because the hourglass keeps me from clicking anything, can't talk, can't do anything except exit the game. The hourglass takes forever to disappear.. and when it does if I reconnect it just comes back again.

I was on such a roll today. It ended with me dumping 2 clips into a guy. I sneak up to him to finish the job and shoot him 2 times in the head while he as bandaging himself or something.. He then turns around, shoots me once and I'm dead. :(

^This I'm redownloading the 1.6 patch hoping it fixes it. But it's taking forever.

I have a friend that uses Arma 2 Free and paid OA just fine. I don't know what you guys are talking about.

I'm having the same issue as the above poster. I'm slowly downloading the files needed. My friend is able to play the game because he hasn't downloaded the files yet. If you haven't updated yet I advise you not to.. you won't be able to go onto any servers. I tried to revert my files back to the old ones but the updater deleted the old ones. So now I'm stuck in a downloading loop.
