Hey, any chance someone would explain to me how I can get ramdisk to work with DayZ Commander and Panthera Island. I found how to do it for Standard DayZ on Six Launcher, but im stuck. I pretty much only play panthera anymore and would like to give Ramdisk a shot to see if it improves my play.

As terrible as it sounds, the Diablo 3 forums. I was tired of that game and cruising all the bitching threads when I was looking for something else to play when some one mentioned this little arma 2 mod called dayz. I was hooked after seeing my first YouTube vid. Needless to say, diablo 3 hasn't been on my pc since then.

Your right in the fact not being about honor or prestige. But what takes the place of that in dayZ is, "What do I have to gain by killing him?" killing fresh spawns nothing to gain besides one upping your kill count, aka e-peen. Also it's not about survival either, unless your really scared of the with a hatchet 200 meters away from you. The sole purpose for you killing them is because your bored, or just out right trying to be a dick. If your bored, either A. Quit the game and play something that isn't boring to you, or B. try a new play style. You know, it's a little more exhilarating to actually try to interact, to try and scrape by, rather than just click, he's dead.

Everyone loves to preach that this game is about pvp, and don't get me wrong, it is. But pvp does not equal highly geared 'bandits' killing unarmed or very weakly equipped survivors. I haven't played an mmo in a while, but if you ever have you know what I mean In an mmo players are seperated by level for pvp that instills a sense of "fair game". Sure you can go out of your way to pursue the easy lowbie targets if you so choose, but where's the fun? You mike as well be shooting your tanks at rabbits. In dayZ our levels are our gear. Why would a bandit strapped to the teeth go after a lowbie with just a hatchet? In mmo terms there's no honor or prestige to be earned there, right? I think people have hot the pvp mindset wrong. You should be going after equally or higher equipped players in the appropriate areas, such as Stary, NWAF, berezino. There is a lot more competition there, and you'll probably get a lot more of the 'adrenaline rush' you claim to crave.

This is pure excellence, have some beans. Maybe one day we can trade for DELICACIES like this.

Haha, this kind of reminds me of when I played with my brother way back in the beginning. We were slowly working north and for the first time had all our necessary survival tools and it felt good. After looting a barn we ran to the woods to finish of the Zeds that were following us. When we made it to the tree line I turned around to shoot one and caught my brother in the face with the first shot with my enfield Lol. I felt like dick but I had the akm now. It was an accident and I ended up killing myself to start over with him again. But it was funny tho right?

To be honest, I do like this idea. It would add more variety of play to the game, and another thing to watch out for. I can't believe people are saying "that wouldn't happen IRL." This game was designed to be open ended and the story developed by the player. Remember our catchline? 'This is Dayz, This is your Story'. Who's to say it shouldn't be possible? This is a sandbox sim right? Don't shoot down an idea just because you think "hes from Gta, and his pants probably sag to much."

Its been confirmed by an in-game battle eye message that there have been over 2000 global bans today. Battle eye is just cleaning house today, nothing to do with a hacker changing your key...

This game was not designed with the inventory in top priority. It is a military simulator, where you choose a loadout at the beginning of a mission. In real arma 2 it is actually pretty rare that I would have to interact with my inventory at all. Thats the thing people over look. Its more or less, just a placeholder to show what you are carrying. It wasn't designed to be an MMO/FPS inventory that needed to be frequently managed.

It's really funny how wrong you've got me. I'm not about killing a boar and eating it. I love the pvp in this game. I fucking love it. But the problem with it is when you die, or kill someone else, that person should be gone, and his gear passed on or gone as well. With tents, people pretty much make it just another shooter. Your playing it wrong if you think survival only means being a mountain man. The thrill of this game comes from the player encounters, knowing it is life and death for one of the parties involved. And your totally wrong about your assumptions of me and mmos. I always get bored before I get even close to maxing anything. If the thrill of death is no longer a consequence, why are you playing dayz. DayZ is supposed to be an unforgiving game. Not die and them run to your tent, get kitted from it a gain then go hunt the guy that killed you. There was intended to be a consequence for death. To make the game a little more engaging. Not just your run of the mill zombie run n gun.

No, that not at all what is fun to me. It's more about the excitement of going fresh again and thinking, fuck I lost my m16. I've gotta go back to nwaf and get a new one while I've only got a Winchester. The fun is starting over. If all you like doing Is killing people, in a nOn tense environment where you don't stand to lose anything, why don't you just go play a game designed for that. On the other hand I'm gonna keep playing my SURVIVAL game.

My thoughts 100%. Thats exactly why after about a months time, i have never even looted a tent on purpose. Just because everyone else is ruining their own and others' fun, why should I?

You don't know these people. It's not fair to generalize the entire group. Some people just hit a wall in their lives, wether it be their fault or not, and it becomes the only option. Can't find a job, or don't want to work for nothing the rest of your life, and failed or can't afford school, so what else is there to do? Join the forces. It's better money than people might think. It can help people through a tough time. I have many family members that have been, or currently are enlisted. You gotta have respect for that. It's harder than what most people do with their lives, and they do it willingly. It's not for me and I'd be the first to tell you that, but for others it is.

Yeah I can agree with you their, but it's not right to bash soldiers like that because of decisions that our political leaders make. Many soldiers enlist because at the time that's all they can do to benefit themselves.

I'm sorry but that is extremely disrespectful to say about our armed forces. If the majority of our soldiers are like that why don't you enlist? That's right, you won't.
