Winter is coming. -
I actually like the way loot piles up the way it does, it appeals to the RPG lover in me

I highly doubt this has been posted but heres something for standalone
Jon Snow (DayZ) replied to Jasmer's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Parkour is hard as shit to do and takes alot of training and practice. Even vaulting over a fence would be hard to pull off with a shit ton of gear on your back -
Question - Russian part of the forum
Jon Snow (DayZ) replied to Noggy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
We shouldn't be talking about this. They're watching. Always watching -
Also another hell no to NPCs. All of your ideas go against what makes DayZ great

How does it make it more realistic if theres an area where you can't kill people? Rocket has stated numerous times that he wants to leave most of the in game aspects to the players themselves - so maybe some players can get together and form a city, where guns have to be holstered at all times. A player can still walk into this city and start shooting, but they will be killed and banned from entering the city by the players themselves. Things like this should not be scripted in, they should be implemented and adapted by the players.

Get ArmA 2 or wait for Standalone DayZ?
Jon Snow (DayZ) replied to xFir3_Pry0x's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
At the very least i'd wait for a release date for the standalone, and then gauge from there whether you are willing to wait for it -
That'd be C++ if i'm not mistaken. What are you trying to read it for?

5 Dollar bounty to kill player Zheratuhl
Jon Snow (DayZ) replied to zed23's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This won't follow through but the idea is fun and the fact that you seem dead serious is hilarious -
hmmm nice idea, but I think that the challenge should lie in the actual sniping process itself. Like having to account for wind direction and range of the target

Here's the catch: One of them is undercover, working for a big time bandit group. We're sending you in to find out who the spy is, and take them out. Time is short, we're counting on you Chris. -

Sure can, you're good to go -
If you buy at the original alpha price, you won't have to pay again ever.

BOOM

Not sure yet, most likely as a downloadable title. Something was also said about a possible console release eventually too

I'll beat you guys next time

Minecraft was originally released as an Alpha build, at a low price point. This basically means it was released not completely finished, using the feedback from the players to improve and fix the game. As the game developed, it went up in price, until it reached a final "full retail" price which is in place now.

I get what you're saying, but I think there will come to a point where realism just stops being fun. I'm not saying that you're suggestion will take DayZ to this point or anything, but I dont think every little thing should be tweaked to be as real as possible. It should always try to walk that very slim line of being real/fun.
