That just came to my mind. It has been an awful long time since the last patch. It would be cool to save your gear in tents and vehicles as starters. It would be cool if your helicopter would save its location after the restart. It would be even cooler if the 2.4 tents/vehicles wouldn't dupe their gear on 2.5 servers. Anyway is there any pending update to look forward in the close future? Just saying... -

Server: DE 1662 Time: 5:45-6:00~ (GMT+2) What happened: Some hacker teleported everyone on the server to one spot at the Novy Sobor field (roughly 070-078). I managed to quit before anything more happened. But I repositioned myself at other server and saw 2 guys on middle of ammoboxes on that place where we got teleported. I shot them and left the server. Are these events visible at the log?

I'm starting to lose my faith on this game. I can't even remember when I have died fair and square in pvp. It's either some bug, like crushing in to wall or some funny feature with ARMA physics like when you scratch your cars paint just a little bit and suddenly getting ignited into flames and dying in the process. OR some loser coming to the server and pressing the BIG RED BUTTON and everybody dying in the server. I have witnessed this personally twice now, in consecutive days. Day before it I were camping on the Drakon island and suddenly seeing people dying with suspicious rate. So just in case I checked the behind of the island and on that moment when I was coming back up I heard a M14 or DMR at point range. I hit the deck and turned around and saw nobody around. But the firing didn't stop there and I died soon after it. There was absolutely no place where he could saw me unless he was right next to me(where he obviously wasn't, at least visible). AND as I expected when I came back to my spot my body was lying there untouched. Fortunately I got my stuff back, but that was a thin comfort. I'm so tired of this... and meanwhile all of this you are battling with all the other possible things that could go wrong with this game, like script restriction #40, loading, OA has stopped working, finding yourself at the coast without any gear... and all other funny things. At least you can tell this game isn't made for guys with short temper or patience. Seriously guys who are using those cheats, aren't it getting old quite fast? Like killing everybody with one key press? Wow that must raise your ego so much... I think you guys had something terrible wrong at your chilhood... Well dunno if this helped at all. But be my guest and tell your funny story about Dayz! -

That's just so dead hilarious. I don't honestly know any game this full of hackers. Btw. pro tip avoid high player servers, because those gentlemen mentioned before seem to fullfill themselves mostly there... And seriously they are not doing it because we QQ, they do it because they are sad losers with a low self-esteem. :( Edit: It's not that there's not another DMR, NVGs, ghillies, etc. waiting at the base(because of the another funny feature on tents). Everything is abdundant in DayZ atm... sadly. -
Server: SE 6 Time: 20:30~ (GMT+2) What happened: I logged on this server and decided to camp a little bit at the Drakon island. Suddenly people started to die and my suspicions began to grow. So I checked back of the island(just in case) and at the moment when i was climbing back up to the higher ground I heard M14 or DMR at close range. I hit the deck and checked behind and nothing was there either, but that something kept shooting and I got hit. There was no LoS from the so called "bandit hill" or its whereabouts to that location. The only possible location was either up on the island which I would have seen or behind me, where he wasn't either. Well I changed the server and went to the exactly same location where I died and joined the same server and as I suspected my body was untouched. He wasn't interested about my gear, he obviously just wanted to kill people. Even though I had NVG, GPS, rangefinder and all the possible goodies you could possibly have, so I would guess he would have take them or at least hid my body. This is third time I face similar cheater in action. I've tasted it twice. Unfortunately you don't record your game all the time, so the evidence is very hard to obtain.

I dunno is this my side problem or is this affecting others as well, but somehow currently DC is only able to find just a few servers. I believe it must have something to do with the latest battleye patch and problems with scripts.txt. Anyway I reseted filters and ticked only "hide unlocked/unofficial" and "hide wrong dayz version" and I got only 70 out of total of 4315 servers(as you can see on the picture below) Then I ticked "Hide unresponsive" and I got only 19 servers. Any idea what's wrong?

I think I found the problem. I just recently(few days ago) got a new modem and it seems that when I changed the settings from routed to bridged it started to work normally. I have Cisco EPC3825.

I downgraded DayZ to 1.7.2.4 because the gear doesn't get saved on .2.5, but now there's a bigger problem. Everytime I'm trying to connect some server it will get stuck at "loading" screen. Any ideas for workaround? -
DE 196 gear doesn't get saved in tents/vehicles

I dunno is this a problem with the version or with the server, but by some reason at DE 196 everytime when the server restarts the contents of tents/vehicles will go back to what it was like day or 2 ago. At least 4 or 5 restarts have done this so far. Anybody know what the issue could be? -

I really do like DayZ and undoubtedly it has taken a great toll of my playing time. But there's two things which are nearly ruining the motivation to play it and which I think should be addressed at top priority. I know these points I'm about to say has been mentioned here before in multiple different threads. But I really want to put extra weight on these two, because they are maybe _THE_ most important changes to make. 1) Teleport wars Describtion: Aka. Disconnecting at the server A, connecting to the server B, relocating your position at the server B and then connecting to the server A again. OR just simply disconnecting to avoid consequences, like getting eaten by Zeds, shot... etc. I've faced this countless times in my PvP encounters and I confess I have done this also myself by the purpose. Haters blaming the player for doing wrong, but I can tell you it's naive to whine for others to do so when it's generally a feature of the game. You can disconnect and you can connect to the other server and both of those "features" are completely legit and they doesn't require any knowledge of exploitism. Like pressing specific keys in certain order etc. Like here is an example: You know the Berezino military camp and those 3 multistore buildings at south of it. Sniper watching the military camp from one of the buildings windows. Then you spot him from a very long distance with your binocs/rangefinder and you don't have the firepower to shoot him from that far and you can't cross the opening unless you flank it(if you know the Berezino it's a long run). So what this bright guy will do is he will disconnect and find an empty server where he is able to cross the opening and relocate himself behind the sniper to the other room at the very same building. Next thing is he will connect to the server and move silently(tapping forward doesn't make any sound) behind the sniper and the threat is about to get removed. I have seen this scenario myself with my own eyes. It's unrelevant whether I was on the delivering or receiving side. The point is it's completely possible and top of all, easy. At this point somebody might say that servers are outlawing such manuevers, but honestly first of all on most of the servers you are anonymous player killing anonymous players and secondly even if you somehow would get banned whatsoever there's thousand of other servers where to play and the damage is done anyway. Those rules simply doesn't work. Not a single admin has time to check thousands and thousands whines about people disconnecting "wrong". There must be a fix in the system itself to prevent this. So there is basically two entities to fix easily. Preventing server hopping and preventing the insta disconnect. Both of those shouldn't be too hard to implement I'd guess? Lets start with server hopping. That should be easy. Though you must remember one thing that sometimes people just want to search for a server they like and I don't think it's necessary to punish them for such. Like if you want to play in a server which has a day time and those timezones on the title are most of the time wrong. So the only thing which basically needs to get penalized is the server hopping from A to B and back to A. Like 15 minutes connect timer would certainly prevent this teleport war completely. For playing later on the same server the extra connect timer could decay like in 1 hour. Then the prevention for the insta disconnect. This should be even easier. Either just make an adequate disconnect timer(5 seconds is certainly not!). OR make two kind of flags for the disconnect. First one would be a basic disconnect, it could be this 5 seconds suggested by DayZ. Second one would be the one which would get triggered if you would either shoot/hear shots or aggro zeds and it would mean a longer disconnect timer. Lets say like 1 minute and it would reset if you would cancel the disconnect. This extra DC toll could get decayed like the server hopping timer. Perhaps after 10 minutes. These times are just examples. Then there's a last remaining ingredient to fix this problem "once for all". Like in my mentioned example there's still a very big problem when you are able to "teleport" behind the enemy. Even if the system would be able to prevent the people in the same server to do so, it's still unable to prevent the people who are not yet connected to the server and perhaps have the knowledge of the enemy in the specific house. Like the one guy who is in the same voip and who is about to join to the same server. SO there's only one reasonable prevention for this and it's to prevent completely spawning/disconnecting on the loot areas or at their close proximity. Yeah you could still spawn to bush X which could be behind the sniper Y, but it's still a far much better. If you have a better idea be my guest. So basically you have to be at the specific distance to disconnect and even if you would somehow getting DC'ed at "no no" spawn area the server should record your last position where you were at the disconnect area and you would spawn from there when you spawn next time. Then to the second problem which is not just ruining PvP, but the whole game's economy. 2) Duping items and save function Describtion: Tents and vehicles duping items after the server restart when they are not saved. New tents doesn't work and old ones duping items, sounds familiar? This is a VERY big problem. Like our crew currently have more than abundant supplies of everything you could possibly need, like dozens of NVGs, GPS and all other top tier stuff. Honestly I would more than happily give all them away if this system would get changed. All this rapid increase of your economy takes is to write enemy tents locations up. Like XXX-XXX Enemy tent (Server A), B and C and then just loot them at daily basis. OR if you are a bigger crook you can just plant items you want to duplicate in these tents -> save -> loot the duplicates after the restart. This is so blatantly wrong. I dunno if the fix could be easy as making the "save the..." function automatic everytime you shuffle the contents? Because everytime you save them they seem to stay, but if you don't save the contents will stay as the same as before the restart. But either way this problem must get addressed quickly... please. My zed cents.. dig, hate, discuss!

The only problem with snipers and every other high tech weapon is DUPING! Put shit on tent, save, then take them off and after the restart voilá you've just doubled your shit. That's the reason why about every other having AS50 or M107... Secondly if you are playing on servers without range visible it's much much harder to estimate the range. Unless ofcourse you have rangefinders. Without rangefinder it requires dot-mil/chevron knowledge or pure guessing and if you dial 100 m over or under it will be a miss and that's not an ideal situation for a sniper. Not to mention if the target is moving at the distance, you wont take the shot unless you are certain you will hit or you are just a newb sniper. Though I must agree with some of the posters that I would much rather see less mil-grade snipers in the game, INCLUDING red dot assault rifles and other high tech toys. Another thing is AS50 and M107 are useless at night because they don't work with NVGs. At night skilled DMR is your worst enemy. B)

Detrimental? LOL. Will be fixed by what fact? I don't see any road map to say such thing. All I have seen is mentioning about 5 seconds DC timer. It is hardly a spamming when I made a clear case with examples why it's a very serious issue. Valid topic in other words, I'd guess. I really don't understand this hatred. Which I did. But I don't necromance months old topics which are somehow relevant. I think it's a normal practice? This wasn't just about DC to avoid death. Again says where? And when? Or who you are to say such? Hardly believe. I really doubt you would ban somebody with shady evidence that somebody disconnected and reconnected to change his position? Besides I don't think not a single admin has such power or top of all time to investigate such incidents or actually convince DayZ staff to actually ban you from the whole game because you disconnected and reconnected?!? Comon get real.

In other words you are basically saying that whole suggestion forum is useless? OR you just should stfu till the game is ready, everything will be fine just you wait... NO... At least I tried and put some sort of effort to have my concern heard. Instead of just calling others "village idiots". Think about it how much better place this forum would be if people would actually stick to the subject rather than nitpicking or arguing about completely unrelevant points(which ironically both of us doing as we speak...). I know it's utopia. Still dude if you don't have anything to add, don't post it. Please. Meanwhile I hope there will be a better DayZ tomorrow. :D

How come DayZ have mentioned the "disconnect timer" in the first place then? Minor? Even if you are only able to carry 1 weapon and certain amount of other items, but have you thought if you die you are still able to get these same high tier items without any more effort than getting them from your hidden caches which could be spread all over the different servers? OR have you thought that with that duping you are able to arm an army? Literally... As example we could arm a platoon sized crew with all kind of goodies with ease... Besides is it fun that everybody has everything? It's a MAJOR problem and zombies being little dumb or having a bad animations are far from its seriousness.

Tents / Vehicles disappeared after the restart at DE 196

Just before the restart (20:00 CET) every vehicle we had were in front of our noses and after the restart they were gone. Then we traveled to enemy tent base nearby us and every tent from there was gone as well. There was 4 tents. So I'd say it's pretty certain the server ate them. Perhaps restarting the server would bring them back? DE 196 server admins if you read this please give it a try. Very frustrating to lose it all, because of this. Thanks. -
I have really doubt cheats existency in DayZ until today we encountered something really strange. Well we went to a server which was almost empty. There was 3 or 4 other players at max and it was a pitch black night. So we decided to make a little loot run with our truck. We had NVGs so there was only a little risk to do so. Everything went smoothly and after few hours(3 or 4) we were going back to our base. I left a little earlier to our camp and the other guy continued driving the truck to the "hideout". Then something extraordinary happened. 2 of those 3 other players which were on the server were exactly at our "hideout" waiting for the truck to come. I heard at the mumble that my friend got shot and there was some guys on the ridgeline shooting at him. Fortunately at that time I was on the other side of the ridgeline and my aim was ready for them to come. I waited both of them to come clearly visible and then BOOM BOOM both got shot dead. There is basically only two rational options for this to happen, either they 1) found our tent and left there to camp. Without a perfect timing I highly doubt this and the tent was on the opposite side of the ridgeline. 2) saw our truck leaving from that spot and left there to camp? I doubt, unless they really sat there 3-4 hours and still thought we would come back to the exactly same place. Other than that is really fishy, especially when the location was at Rify-Blunt Rocks area which is not like the first place where you would camp for enemies to come. Plus where the ambush occured was a little valley where you could see only from the ridgeline(which is roughly 50x50m area). So they simply couldn't just stumble there randomly. Somehow they just knew exactly where we are coming. Luckily we pulled a longer straw this time. But yeah I guess nothing is impossible at DayZ. P.S the base ain't there anymore LOL! and thanks for the gear at DE 528!
