   Yes, I've shot deers near devils castle in 0.57. I also shot 2 boars NW from Krasnostav. The biggest deal is to spot them before they spot you. Because boars can run like hell if they sense you. So, when you didn't see them first, you would probably never noticed that they where there in the first place. So you might think they don't spawn there anymore. The hunting places are still the same. And in my experience i've always seen wild animals pretty close to deer stands.

@ Tatanko Nice guide, especially the stats. thanks for that. But what do the numbers on the map mean? If those are hunting grounds, you missed a few in the south. For example east from Progorodki (chernogorsk). You can find boars and deers there. There is also a deerstand. I am pretty sure the spawn of wild animals is "tied" to the deerstands. Because I found wildlife always close to deerstands. Though, there are deerstands everywhere on the map. A peek in the missionfile would probably solve that question :P Is there a reason why you limit yourself to only the southern part of the map? Or is the map work in progress? In the north are many good places to find animals as well. north-west from krasnostav there are boars to be found, and i think deers as well. (Near the deerstand) Around devils castle you can find deers.and boars. again close to the deer stands. South-east from novy sobor you can find deers, and probably boars as well. deerstands I think the north of the map as at least as much locations where you can find animals. And yes, i have never seen a fox yet eaither. It would be really awesome if they could control the spawn based on the hour of the day. More animals at dawn and dusk.

Maybe lower your standards a bit ;) I always play on 1st person server with real time. Eislecker Survivor Team Address: 5.9.22.46 Port: 2302 There are some from germany, luxemburg, some from UK and other parts of europe. The performance is pretty good, allthough it's not super populated. But it's not located in the UK.

The short description: Craft BBQ stick, with one inventory slot which can hold one peace of meat. This can then be used to hold (or placed) above the fire, to bake it. Materials needed: one wooden stick. The long story: Today I used the cooking system with a cookingpot, fireplacekit, and the tripod. This is not a reasonable way to cook, especially for the lone wolf. The stuff you need to do this is just too much. The cooking pot takes 4 slots, the tripod needs to be on your back. Yes, you can use stones, but you need tools for that. As a lone wolf it would be reasonable, and realistic, to make a fire, and then place a stick above the fire to cook one piece of meat. This would at least be doable. I prefer this over the gascan with stove. Would be really nice to see this as another option.

   Oh yeah, i checked the already suggested items. And this wasn't there. But yeah, i just saw on the frontpage that someone suggested something similar with sharpened sticks. I didn't see that before I posted, otherwise I weould not have posted this. But what can you do? I'm not perfect, right? right. good.

The eislecker survivor team server has been up for quite some months. They.have real time ( western european time, utc+1) But you might have a high ping there, since the server is located in luxemburg and you're canadian. But it is first person only, with real time: ip 217.23.8.102 Port: 2602

Every female in this game is one too many. Women should stay in the kitchen. Also, girls should be in the kitchen to learn how to cook good food later. And they should learn how to knitt a sweater for their future husbands. iow , if I hear a female voice, I start KOS immediately, so I know I am sure she we quickly go to back to the kitchen. -

@mark3236 Thanks for your beans for my previous post. It does mean a lot to me, especially from a guy that doesn't mind killing kids. I have "real" empathy for you man. You get it now, buddy???? Or did you encounter a language barrier with your post about that you don't mind killing kids. Or did I? Edit: Maybe I reacted too harsh. But my previous post was sarcastic (if you didn't noticed that). Now, I thought about this, and you are South Korean. Perhaps you didn't meant about what you wrote there, and just used the wrong words, or words in a wrong way. But to me it sounded like you actually don't mind killing some kids. And then complaining about the Dayz standalone not being released before you have to do service, and feeling sorry for yourself. That would be kinda sick, would it not? -

Ho big is your monitor? Because I think that matters. I have a mid size 22 inch ( <-- talking about my monitor) and before that i had a smaller screen. Spotting something at the same resolution, but with a bigger screen is obviously easier. -

I played on it a bit, while it was a bit darkish. I see that they moved the barracks to a more logical place in chernogorsk. A lot better. I killed 3 of those ai's. They almost got me, because I wasn't very careful, since it was dark, and I was the only one on the server :). Then one of those AI's shot me,but luckily Ii was near a small building which could provide me some cover. I think it's a nice add-on, especially on moments when the server is a bit low pop (nighttime). So you can still have some action. Anyway. You can get them sula, just be sure to never run in the open. move from building to building if you are in a town, and plan your routes where there are trees. So you always have cover. This will buy you some time when you get hit out of the blue. Stay calm, and keep overview. It's a good training to. Humans are better opponents though. The only problem with AI is that you start shooting on everything that moves, but that already seems the default behavior now in Dayz, so not much of a difference.

After Switching Monitor ARMA 2/DayZ Won't Show

perhaps your previous settings were configured for high resolution that your monitor can't handle. in your arma directory ( \Documents\ArmA2 dir) there are 2 files with resolution settings: ArmA2OA.cfg and ArmA2.cfg Open them with a text editor, and set Resolution_W= And Resolution_H= to a lower resolution: for example W=1280 and H=720, and then save them. Now try to open arma/dayz. If it works now, you can experiment with higher resolution in your video settings. If it still doesn't work, try to delete that whole arma2 directory in your documents. ( first make a backup!) And then open arma. good luck -

It just depends on what player you are. I think there are 2 kinds of players: those who see it as pvp game, and those who see it as survival game. Those who see it as pvp game take more risks, die more quickly, and if possible run back to their dead body to recollect gear. These people want third party voip. The people who play it for survival and realism probably don't.

What about adding 2 extra parameters to the vehicles. (cars, choppers, motorbikes) First of all, it would need 2 extra parameters (database change) : - OIL level - Motor parts condition ( should not be defined on detail level, like spark plugs, carburator). What I am aiming for in this parameter is how dirty or rusty they are. basically one parameter called "engine maintenance" The above could have 3 main levels (reached by the analogue meter, just like how the fuel meter work. But you only see it when checking the vehicles engine) with oil level: 1. very low, 2. low and 3. okay with motor parts condition: 1. very dirty, 2. dirty, 3. okay The consequences of low levels of one or both parameters could be: starting problems (with some smoke ;) ) . Driving slower. Engine shutting off when running stationary too long. Or at very low level oil, the engine could catch fire. or just not starting at all, when all levels are very low. That way we could have a bit more vehicles on the map, without too much in good condition. Plus it's something extra to worry about.

Well, some might not like this, because of the extra time it may cost. But indeed, an answer like "no" is not really constructive feedback. That's more a "poll" answer ;) But i thought it would increase realism. Cars need oil. A car standing still for a while might have problems with dirty spark plugs, and or a dirty carburator.). A difficult to start car because of that might also increase realism. I would say the parameters should be dynamic, and should also only be seen when quickly inspecting the cars maintenance level. If you don't inspect it, and the car takes long to start, (and/or you see smoke) you know you should inspect that. -
Patch 1.7.7 was so great, but it lasted only 2 or 3 days for me, and then it was hotfixed :( Had some very tense moments in that patch, and stupidity really killed ppl. People starting a firefight in the city mostly got both parties killed, simply because even if one of them won, they got overrun by zeds, or got an infection. No more loose running in cities, like there where no zeds. In one situation, I was at berenzino and met 2 other ppl in the store. Bandits saw us talking in sidechat, and they tried to kill me, they hit me once or so, but they just hadn't had the time to aim, due to the many zeds. I never got infected much or killed in the patch, but it was mostly the same ppl that got killed over and over again, because they did not adapt. ( could see the same names in death messages over and over again) I think that if the patch was given more time, these people eventually would adapt and don't just fire heavy guns in the city anymore. they would be more careful with banditry, be more creative with banditry, and just be more careful in general. Now zeds are part of the scenery again, and the fun is over. I really hope the devs will change it back some day.

Have you even played 1.7.7? Because the difference was huge compared to the 1.7.6.1 version. Zeds were far more dangerous in 1.7.7. They could knock you over. And, yes indeed could get you infected. The fear for getting infected, and the scarcity of antibiotics would make you scared of zombies. Would make you scared of them hitting you. And therefore you couldn't just shoot in the middle of a city, aim, shoot again. Because waiting too long could get you hit by a zombie, and get you infected. Before that you knew you could take a few hits from zombies. because it didn't matter. In patch 1.7.7 it did matter a lot! (because of the scaricity of anti-biotic) So the difference was huge.
