    1.7.7 really punished stupidity

Why do you change the subject to broken zombies??? Like i already said (just read my first reply on your brokens zeds remark) it has nothing to do with patch 1.7.7. Zeds hitting you through walls are in dayz since almost the beginning of time. So, why do you change the subject to something that has nothing to do with this specific 1.7.7 patch?

    1.7.7 really punished stupidity

Yeah, but i don't play dayz to just gear up, take the risk and die, and then gear up again. I wanna live for long. therefore I like to play on servers with large population, vanilla veteran settings, no admin abuse, and good ping/performance. The combination of that is pretty rare. So i stick to the community where i play.

    1.7.7 really punished stupidity

Well, hitting you through walls has nothing to do with patch 1.7.7. They could pretty much hit you through some walls since the beginning of time. And if you know that, you don't gonna stand next to a wall, while you know zeds are on the other side. Imo just another example of someone that does not adapt.
  4. When I started to play DayZ, and at the same time got the chance to play arma 2, because that was needed to play dayz, I saw how much I liked Arma 2, because of the realism you won't find in many other games. With that I mean that in Arma you have specs of the weapons, with travel time of the bullet, the damage, the accuracy, etc. Then you have the natural clumsiness of the body, and also the great environments, the sky with stars on which you can navigate, and lot's and lot's more. I think it's one of the main reasons why I like DayZ so much. After seeing some video's and interviews with Dean Hall from E3, and the whole new MMO architecture, I'm kinda worried about something. Will they use a complete dumbed down version of the Arma engine for the stand alone? In other words, will they sacrifice that whole realism in weapons/environment for the new architecture, and only use code what they think is needed for this game?

    Guess The Location ! (Chernarus)

    give me the fuc**** answer!
  6. That's funny, you are always right, and I am always worried.
  7. You probably meant that the OP (me) doesn't know much about game development, and you are right about that. I only wrote software for ERP and some linux console scripting. But I know quite a lot about games. (just like everyone that has been gaming for many years) I've been gaming since the 80's, starting on my pc-xt ;) It was just that I was afraid that they would remove a lot of code (and therefore functionality/realism/mechanics) from arma to make a more simplified and easier to maintain/modify dayz client. And by removing the stuff that makes arma so cool, it wouldn't have the same experience as the dayz mod now. and @ BigMike Thanks for your answer clarifies a lot for me.
  8. That's why i found it weird they did not put any sniper rifles in the game. Perhaps in the SA there is no travel time, angle, etc. perhaps it's just point and shoot. And if the crosshair matches the target, even when it moves (and perhaps even at longer distance) you will hit it.
  9. I certainly hope you are right.
  10. I was worried, because of a few things. - I heard in the interview that Dean Hall preferred the term authenticity over realism. - I heard there are no sniper rifles in the SA. Is that because the SA is using a dumbed down version of the arma realism of weapons, and therefore they only want to use pistols and simple assault rifles for now? - from what I understand from the video's (but maybe I am wrong), they removed a lot of arma code, and only used what they found necessary for the SA (enough to create a certain authenticity, instead of realism?) I hope I am wrong, and making wrong assumptions, but if they sacrifice the realism, that arma has, for the MMO concept, then for me DayZ loses it's identity.

@ Death Dealer Is it near green mountain? looks like the road that leads to green mountain.

What you guys think about the new update?

Yes you can, but it's a bit more difficult. I had a horde chasing me in the field. I lost them in the trees. Also in the city i lost them running through several buildings.

What you guys think about the new update?

I like the new patch. Zombies scared the shit out of me in the middle of the woods, while I was already hurt, and used my last anti biotics. It's PvP and PvE compatible :) If you like PvP, you can still play that game, but you have to consider your actions more. Because if you get hurt, it will leave you more vulnerable for the upcoming problems. And if you die because of your own stupidity, you have to work harder to get your stuff back, hehehe. >:) I just loooove this!

    1.7.7 Lack Of Antibiotics

I think it is nice that something is scarce. Gives you a goal, and or something to worry about. @ dodgeviper You could also try to ask someone for anti biotics. That would also be a challenge.

Who is your best friend in Dayz?

My brother is my best friend. I think he is good and he thinks of me. Sometimes he roars a bit much. But mostly he's nice. Yesterday he gave his beans to me. He told me to be careful. Upon myself Because he had to leave for a while. I said thank you. he left. Did not look back I hope to see him again.

    more animations/gestures

I would like to see more animations/gestures in the mod/stand alone. I really like the flip the bird . Waving would be great to. The thumbs up. And there could be lots more. It really adds to the social interaction between players.

    more animations/gestures

ow.. . I wasn't very original. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to reply.
  18. For those who want an extreme difficult DayZ survival experience, I think we balanced the PUPSYS DAYZ 2017 server to be the most difficult server you can find: PUPSYS DayZ 2017 - 2.0 - EXTREME Sarge AI (Veteran|3D:ON|CH:OFF) UTC-5 http://pupsys.blogspot.com Even if you are alone on the server, you won't gear up in an hour. Perhaps you won't make it to properly gear up at all. If you make it to gear up a bit and catch a bandit, and you are able to loot his body (which is pretty difficult to to the huge amount of zombies), your chances increase a lot. Extremely difficult , Due to combination of zombies and bandit groups. There is action in almost any town. Don't waste your time on this server if you don't want to play on full alert most of the time. If you just wanna enjoy/relax regular DayZ 2017, pick one of the other servers. No freebies, so you start with default crap. Default lootspawn There is strong SARGE AI bandit groups (configured all values up to 90 percent or more).Mostly 3 or 4 per group, and they look like regular survivors with default 2017 weapons. They use several tactics, like flanking, using smoke granates, searching through buildings, etc. If you catch one, you get a good weapon like the rusty assault rifle with ammo that is left, and perhaps a compass, map or drinks and food. Restart every 12 hours (at 7:30 AM/PM UTC-5), Full moon nights, and Global chat is on, but you probably won't need it ;)

    10 things i like about dayz 2017.

I aggree with 1,2 and 7. The latest update has spoiled it a bit for me. The reason: you can eat zombies and humans, thus food is not scarce anymore. You can find it everywhere. I ate zombies, never got infected. The game is only interesting whern there are a lot of players. Elese, it's just plain boring. about point 8. I think you are the king in the city when you have an enfield or winchester. You don't have to be scared at all.
  20. If you are like me, who likes playing DayZ as lone wolf for surviving, and you are no Frankie or an Arma2 die hard, Then you will recognize the following: Let's say you have been playing for 45 minutes. Nothing significant happend. (You looted some buildings and a deerstand, shot a boar, stuff like that). Now you are walking on the flank of a hill, in the woods trying to get to a certain location.. Suddenly you get engaged by 2 guys. And they spot you first! You where just there, walking through the woods, minding your own business, and suddenly you get shot at. That's bad. ;) What happends next? Well, let me answer this question from my own experience. First let me define the setting: DayZ is not a pvp only game. which means you can go on for hours without getting any action, most of the time sneaking around. So, the element surprise comes in. Second, deep inside you know that when you die, you lose all your hard earned gear. And third, the extremely impressive and scary sounds that some weapons can make (that in combination with the sudden surprise being shot at) and last but not least. You don't know exactly where the guys are! The combination of the above elements (especially the sudden surprise and the impressive sounds of the weapons) can make you go into panic mode. Which is bad. You can also take cover and go into paralyse mode. Which is also very bad, because they know where you are, And atm you might be safe behind the cover of that tree, but they will come and get you! SO YOU HAVE TO ACT!. and you cannot quickly replay the scenario and make it allright. If you die, you lose it all. END. So.... how do you avoid this? What I am going to say is not new. It has been mentioned here before, many times. But mostly in relation to sniping practice. You have to use the arma2 editor (it's in the single play menu) to train that experience. It takes very little time. You can make a scenario within 2 minutes and practice it for 10 minutes. Make something like the above. You walk in the woods, on the flank of the hill, and you get engaged by 2 men. You config the men to walk to your direction and engage and fire at will. They will most certainly spot you first! ;) even though you know they are comming. Some will say the arma2 AI players are bad. Well the AI soldiers are not smart, but they are better at shooting moving targets then most human players. Second, you will get used to the impressive sounds of the weapons, while being shot at. And that will help you to keep you focussed on the fight. You will be better prepared, and make sane decissions. And you will keep an overview of your fight, during that fight. It can safe your life. You have to repeat these scenarios every now and then, because it will wear off if you don't practice it every now and then. (You can save your missions and replay them whenever you want as a normal mission). You can even vary the scenarios. Adding a guy that flanks you, and stuff like that. Also you will learn how to move during the fight. I'm not posting this advice for the clans, or the die hards. They get action enough by seeking it. I just wanted to give this advice to players that play the game for surviving and have no mad skills. The above helped me a lot, and saved my life a couple of times.
Ah yeah, and this is my last response on your bullshit.
  22. You said in german that my lines are too long and complex to be a foreigner. Thanks for the compliment. ;) I never wrote that I am german though. I am Dutch (as in Holland, next to Germany), but I speak German as well ;)
  23. My name in the game is not -DarylDixon-. You probably killed one of the many DarylDixon's. Congrats, But i use my first name in the game. I just used this nick on this forum, because i like the character in the walking death TV series. I play almost only on a german private hive server mydayz.de. But about the content of my first post. You are entitled to your opnion. So if you find it bullshit, then it must be bullshit for you. And then you are probably not the target audience of this post
  24. @BOX I think a tutorial would not be necessary. The Arma2 editor is so extremely easy to use. I am not the person who invented the wheel (iow: I am not supersmart), and I found it out after less then 15 minutes of using the editor. You don't even have to save your missons, but you can. But when using the preview, you are already playing the mission you just created. Just try some scenario as I described in my first post. Two guys engaging you, in combat or stealth mode, and fire-at-will. Or create your own. It's really very easy. This simple scenario is mostly to make you get used to the basic aspects of the firefight. (you can also create more difficult scenarios, with other guys following certain waypoints to flank you, so you have to hurry a bit more to kill the first 2 guys) Just make sure your opponents are from the other side (bluefor/opfor), or they will not attack you ;) You can define the units, and config their behaviour. You can also setup the way they move (waypoints, just click the unit you want to move, select waypoints, doubleclick on the map, and define the config of the waypoint) Just give it a try, you will see how easy it it. I think that guy's like Frankie use this tool as well, because you can really setup everything you want, with people, building, vehicles, animal life, cinematic effects, etc etc.. @Sozinho True, but they will still surprise you, since most of the time they will spot you first. Especially in the woods. But , really the training is mostly needed to get used to the elements of the ffight (impressive sounds of the weapons, how to move, how to keep overview of the fight). And that is why you have to repeat this scenario, or more difficult scenarios now and then. Because it will really wear off if you haven't used it for a while and did not had really challenging action in DayZ. @Marcelllus_Walles Ive seen "the walking death"yesterday as well ;) shame we have to wait till februari for the next episode.
  25. Thanks dude. We are not all frankie with mad skills, or clan members having action all the time. I am not. Allthough I like some action now and then. Why else would i play it? ;) But like i said, this helped me a lot, and actually saved my life in the game several times. Keeping a clear head, having some confidence, and an having overview of the fight is very important. And you will not learn this when you get killed every now and then by surprise. Because there is no chance to replay the scenario.
