sry to bring that up again, i really like the survival skill one should need in such a hostile enviroment. even without zombies it could be a challenge to survive. i'm playing an old old game called UnrealWorld - maybe you know it - it's something strange like dayz - cause the dev's don't care about selling in time etc. it's more a vision thing. i really love realism parts in a survival game - UnrealWorld does that well (but graphics and ui are horrible :) ) - but i could see some useful ideas from that game. ah. and something totally odd about URW is that the community (forum) is alien like friendly helpful and intelligent. :DDD maybe check it out for some ideas: http://www.unrealworld.fi/ (herbs? poisonous or spoiled food? tired? traps?...) finally, take your time, i don't care how long it takes, i don't care if you are an ass or friendly, i don't care if you propose something and in the end don't fullfill - as long as you stay true to your vision - and sometime - i can play a new neat game with challenge. and i really would love to see as much players as possible to die in the first few tries over and over and over again and whiny whiny whiny about it. hahahaha.... die. hahahaha.... i'm laughing in advance.

hi, wanted to share some laughs. as a fresh dayz survivor - and about one of the first times having a car and recording it.... i drove near the airfield... .oO(best idea ever) see what happens - and tell me what you think this was...

awwww... mount & blade love it! :) - but they specialise on different fighting styles - and dayz is more a guns & pistols game... the crossbow works like a gun too... i just think the engine base doesnt fit for it - but maybe (hopefully) i am totally wrong :)

trust me too :D i was NO KID and built an bow and arrow for hunting - it shot about 20 to 30 m and the arrow stuck in a tree no problem. there is a difference between a kids bow and a very hard to even draw bow for a man (longbow-style) - i believe - imagine - you are in a zombie apocalypse somewhere in the woods have an axe and a knive and with luck some cotton thread or something - you'll do your best to build a bow and it will work. --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_longbow much about details to a classical bow

sry, could just give you one set of beans. anyway, i love the naive way ppl think of security. i guess the ppl from bohemia didn't think about the security hole they have with their design. now the game / the mod is popular - they have to care. i rly hope they have a better design solution for dayz sa. i read more about serverside and database orientation - so i guess they are going the right direction. ...but we will see :)

nice with the tin cans - DayZ SA will have some crafting possibilities - lets see what we get :) ah... lol. i guess the human history disagrees with you ;) - no offense. but of course the damage of a self made bow and arrow should be small and the handling very bad. the bow was historic more of an artillery weapon and not for 'sniping' i guess because of the hard to implement physics off drawing and loosing a bow - we wont see it in dayz sa :)

guess it was a bad server. found a weapon called sa61 later too... and a terrorist suit... looked rly nice but.. as written - it was the dayz+ mod... so maybe it was all scripted directly on the server? i already tagged the server as 'hacked' on my server list in dayz commander. :) anyway i rly loved to try out the M4A1 CCO SD

for those talking about realism check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_the_Czech_Republic and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_the_Czech_Republic just to scratch a little bit on the surface about it. i guess finding any of the special equipments and weapons in a region like: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48159-chernarus-in-real/ you would have to be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY..... and so on... lucky. in comparison to night vision - wich is a standard tool for any even small military camp. so i think it's not really accurate to compare too much with 'real-life' it's a game in a futuristic yet similiar world of ours. i love the game because i have little to no chance against a sniper hidding somewhere on my way. i love the game because there is no 'save' or 'respawn with all your stuff' additionally... i think we only talk about all these snipers because probably most of them cheated themselfes these EXTREMLY RARE weapons and guily suits... and ammo.... etc. :)

well talking about crafting: bow and arrow is easy to make in RL - of course it wouldn't be as straight and damaging as a bolt from a crossbow - but its something - and its silent and easy to make, you'll need just some knife and some kinda rope for the string. crafting things in apocalyptic settings reminds me of "burn time" - anyone remember this old stuff?

RL: Michael or Dave I love to travel by bike, anayway broke my legs because of that several times :D I'm friendly, trying to kill only Bandits - and of course zombies from time to time. Favourite common Weapon when crosshair enabled: Crossbow else AK Cobra, Winchester, M1911 Most Unique Weapons i had till now: FN FAL (very loud), M4A1 CCO SD - love it, especially at night - but ammo hard to find (and i had this pieace only once :( ) Weapons i hate/never pick up: Makarov, DB-Shotgun, Lee Ensfield, most of the sniper-rifles, subs, fn fal, akm,... every weapon too loud.
