    Radiation

I like this idea better than temp. You'd have to use anti-radiation meds to stay in areas with high/medium radiation, and maybe you could even find a suit or something to allow you to go into really high rad areas that have sweet gear, but maybe you can't shoot or your movement is impaired? And forests are generally more safe? And if you're carrying water or meat into a high rad area, it gets poisoned and you have to drop it. Another use for blood transfusions also would be treating radiation sickness.

You need to be able to "lose" zombies...

I disagree with the idea. I think losing a zombie should be nearly impossible. Why should you be able to outrun them? If in this world zombies are fast, they don't get tired, need to breathe and get out of breath, or get thirsty, nor are they held back by fear of their bodies being damaged.... they should be faster than you, and for longer. They also shouldn't be distracted by dead meat. Zombies aren't actually hungry, they just want to eat YOU. And why should they give up, once focused on you, until they have done so? They're brainless eating machines. I do think melee would fix the "I'm alone and have no ammo and am therefore screwed." Meleeing a zombie should be really difficult, but it doesn't make sense that you can't even *try* to defend yourself.
  3. Add a search bar to the top of the forum page, please. Please add a search bar to the top of every forum page. I think we should have a search bar on the forum. It might cut down on repeat threads, just slightly. Hiding the search behind a link deemphasizes it and people may not see it and just go ahead and make the 400th "antibiotics are too rare" thread. Then we get 4 posts in that thread which is the same thread that had 4 posts 3 hours ago and there is no actual discussion on the topic because it's scattered across multiple threads. I'm going to keep making this thread until such a time as when I can go and easily search (from any page) to see if I have made it previously :D

    More antibiotics please!

Is there no other way to cure illness? A cold should go away after a certain period of time, or get worse, what have you. Also, it's not pneumonia, you don't get pneumonia after shivering for 5 minutes. That's not how the thing works.

My impression of 1.5.8.2 tempeturate feature

There is one and only one temp thread, and it is here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4920
  6. If temperature is really an issue, and we need axes to chop down trees.... does that mean it will take trees a while to respawn? Can we fell entire forests struggling to keep warm?

Can't use items in the quick item menu

I see the notes, but I found this update to be frustrating to the extreme. What was the purpose of it? The menu system is already clunky and fairly difficult to use, why force us to use it even more? What if I put my food in my pocket? I don't see the upsides/point to this.

The One, The Only: I HATE TEMP THREAD

I am for body temperature loss if the weather is inclement. Raining? OK makes sense, you'll get cold, etc. But I don't see what this really adds to the game otherwise. The shaking is so annoying... I also can't seem to quite tell when I am getting cold (the gauge on the side isn't terribly helpful in this area, the icon doesn't convey enough information). What do I have to do to get warm? This is not real life, this is a game, and so when I don't understand that I am getting cold, and I don't know how to get warm because I can't actually see or feel this cold, it is difficult to figure out how to stop the negative effects from making my life harder. Running, being indoors, possibly the proximity of fellow men, these things should, but do not, warm me in game. Just how cold AM I, anyway? Cold enough to see my breath? It should be, if it's making me shake uncontrollably. So I should be able to see my breath and that of other living beings at the very least. But the transitions in real life from comfort to hypothermia are much more nuanced... I like the idea of illness. I think you should be able to pass it person to person, or by looting, I dunno, water or food from a person you killed that was sick. I think some wells should be poisoned, something like that. But getting cold and then getting a cough? This does not follow. I also do not know how to cure the cough? I shot myself with morphine - this should have stopped the shaking and the cough by suppressing my immune system responses. The morphine did nothing. I'm not saying making the morphine do something is the solution (though it should, so should painkillers, think about codine with cough syrup). But more plentiful firewood and slower loss of body heat from the patch this morning wasn't the solution either.

    Forum suggestions.

As long as someone is reading this thread, is there a link on what sort of tags/markup is acceptable? I've seen images on other threads, I guess I could go check the source but I'd like to know my options and I can't find a link that's like "about using this forum." I see this is mybb but I don't know what mods/themes/etc are installed. I don't want to know how to do these things. I just want to know if there is a link to tell me how to do them.

    Forum suggestions.

Put a forum search at the top of the page, please. Put them everywhere, as far as I am concerned. Needing to click a link to get to the search discourages noobs from searching before posting, resulting in duplicate threads more often.
  11. Allegedly this is an arma2 error, not caused by the mod, and therefore fixing it may not be in the cards. I agree, though, it's pretty startling to suddenly lose your stuff!

    Nights

To me, the point is not if "sometimes it is not perfectly pitch black out because the moon blah blah", the point is that when it IS black, the game is unrealistically black and it affects gameplay. Sure, some of you might claim to like this aspect or defend it, but if there's one thing I have seen championed over and over again, it's clinging to this idea of "realism," and, as it has been stated numerous times, the darkness present in the game - not when the moon is out, but the times when it is not - is not realistic. So to me, this is something that should be fixed. I am not saying "make it like daytime", but the tiniest amount of light would add an edge of realism to the game. It would be *really* cool if the game did account for your eyes adjusting, ie pulling a flare in a dark area blinded you for a second, etc, but let's not get crazy.
