Or they could just take away the zombies and make it a deathmatch type scenario. I'm not disagreeing with your point of view or playstyle, but I think Rocket is trying to develop a survival simulation here. I remember the early days on the NZ servers where people were generally more helpful & cooperative and I think I preferred that atmosphere. I'm not saying that I'm not having fun now, it's just different. Maybe the zombies should be more of a threat?

So, this is not a rant but just my experiences from dying to players in the standalone. I have been playing alone so far…. First, shot from behind while looting supermarket in cherno. I had a melee weapon only and the attacker was no-where near me. Second, shot while approaching NEAF. I had a melee weapon only. Third (and this is the kicker) I approached a player in Electro, lowered my pipe wrench, gave a wave and said “I’m friendly”. He asked me to turn around, which I did as I had no gear to lose. He handcuffed me and then beat me with his melee weapon. As I was unconscious I asked him in direct chat why to which he replied “F**k you c**t”. I respawned only to have another fresh spawn run at me with fists up and swinging. Aggroed two zombies running away and technically died to the zeds on that occasion. The above experiences were all on AU servers (closest to me). I have been around since the early mod days and attitudes have changed. If you can’t beat them, join them I say. Oh, and the map looks great.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'l keep roaming the map until I lose my stuff again. It's been quite an adventure lol

Hello all :) This evening I had my first encounter with other players that didn't kill me on sight. I had just set up my character for a lone wolf mission and I was exploring the NE corner of the map. Out of nowhere I had a broken bone and was bleeding from an explosion when 2 other players in ghille suits appeared from nowhere, gave me a blood transfusion and morphine. They told me i had been blown up by accident and asked if i could help kill another player. After working out how to switch to the direct channel (yep i'm a noob) I said I'd help whereupon i was told to click on the gear on the ground. This changed me into a ghille suit and gave me a silenced semi-auto weapon (not sure what, but it had a red dot sight). After leaping all over the map I realised they were hackers and ran off. I have dumped the weapon I was given and rearmed myself with a crossbow (I lost my AK when I picked up the new weapon), but I cant see how to get rid of the ghille suit. Is this at all possible and if so how can I do it? It has obviously been hacked into the game, and not only do I not cheat but I feel like I have a bullseye on my back when I need to go into a hospital for supplies (like now). Thanks in advance :)
