Yeah - my hope to survive would be that the guy 600m away on the hill with the sniper will hear me LOL ... and if there is 2-3 survivors running around near me? or you are telling me we have to use TS or Mumble or else? - everyone is using voice and regardless of this very often friendlies get shot due to the panic, etc.

"The two Bohemia Interactive developers arrested for espionage in Greece" - I thought this is some joke and funny PR - obviously it is for real. Anyone can find some news source concerning those two "James Bond" style agents? -
This guy probably teleported next to you and basically he doesn't need your hard earned SVD (he just wanted to kill you and erase all your efforts in the game)...he can spawn any weapon or vehicle in the game and you couldn't have killed him since he probably also had an invulnerability hack. I am sorry.

True indeed. Regular players usually gets banned and the real cheaters are never affected. If some of the big ones gets caught by some paranoid server admin - the worst is that the cheater is reported for community ban. Well - not every server is linked to this community ban list and the cheater always can get fresh stolen game key for pennies. However, make sure that your computer is clean from hack after it has been "deleted". A member of our clan tried to install a hack some weeks ago, then he got banned by BattlEye and "deleted" the hack, then he purchased new game key from newly created Steam account, BattlEye banned him again before even he managed to login the game. So at the end the guy had to reinstall Windows and to purchase non-Steam game key. Fortunately this worked and he can play now. -
Check this link: http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/list and try to find your name in there looking last pages of course. If you are really there (community ban list) you'll have much bigger problem than now. Incrementally, you'll be banned from most of the DayZ servers.

Go here : http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/list There are over thousand and a five hundred reports. Study them and you will find the pattern in a matter of 20 to 30 min. It is quite obvious. You can get players from this list to add to your bans.txt file and you also can report your "patients" to this list. Enjoy.

Rocket - you are already legend for the industry, man! Awesome approach - in fact - if you manage to cut completely the hacking and duping then AS50 would become really "extremely rare" weapon which require a lot of maintenance in exchange of the huge power. -

Yes - I agree about pistols. It was funny when I met a guy and we both had Makarov with obviously just 1 round available. We shoot each other literally from a 2m distance and we both survived. We gave a good laugh and departed our was. However, I would rather suggest nerfing further snipers. 8000 damage is way too much for the nature of the game and the maps. Basically there is very little need of any other weapon once you have managed to put a hand on DMR or beyond. I am even not discussing AS50 which is capable of taking down a helicopter with just few shots. The only advantage for the sniper should be the optics and range. I would just cap sniper damage to 4500 or so. And please do not cry - "I am sniper specialized and bla bla" LOLOLOL - what? Camping the hill and shooting bambies or anyone with no sniper is ridicules "skill" or "specialization". On top of everything else - in ArmA it is much easier to take down players with sniper than in any other game I know. Just the characters are moving way too slow (which TBH corresponds to the reality). So think about it - this is DayZ - whoever likes to snipe all day can go playing ArmA or BF3 or whatever FPS. -

LOL - really funny posting. Thanks God there is communities that would take the hassle to fund and support private hives, password protected servers - this is the only way currently to keep serious players interested about this game. Rampant hacking is completely ruining the game on public servers. If I hadn't joined one of those closed communities then I would have quit DayZ by now. -

Can we make it much more simple than the proposal? 1) If you get in a radius of 800m around a sniper and sniper shoots you: - if hit - then you get damage for 12000 - if sniper misses you - you get knocked out and you start bleeding for 1000 blood per second. 2) If you have a sniper in hands or inventory - you are invisible for thermal optics Win? -

It is racist indeed but I do not care. Russians are cheating much more than rest of players population. You know why? 1) They still do not have that much sensible information on the average PC compared to average Western PC. So they do not care about viruses, etc. They would install anything downloaded from the net. 2) They get hacks and stolen CD keys for free through Russian online communities - this is a sort of patriotic act for them... So I suggested few days ago to server admins - lets make most of the servers in EU and US inaccessible from Russia by limiting the ping to 50-60 max. This will cut 80% of the Russians and will remove 70% of the hackers in general. Hackers from Russia can change CD key and IP - but... the ping they have - well they can't LOL -

(Fraggle will spank me again) but the only people that can help at the moment are the complacent ArmA 2 team who pretend that they have done the millions recently due to the brilliance of their platform and not due to the DayZ mod. 95% of the customer base have bought ArmA 2 for the mod of course. Fortunately the industry and the players will punish this behavior. Competitors are just behind the corner. -
LOL - this ArmA 2 platform is sooo amazing! I wouldn't be surprised if next time someone reports that his computer is hacked and personal data stolen through ArmA 2 scripts.

OK - anyone - can you give me a reasonable explanation why the developers of ArmA 2 are so reluctant to remove teleport, invisibility, invulnerability server side specifically for DayZ servers? Difficult? Basically 95% of their customers are playing DayZ ? Any company should care about the customer base. Right? Please - lets forget for a minute about "standalone". This issue is not relevant here. I have spent money for ArmA 2 and not for ArmA 3 or else. Thank you. -

In my view ArmA 2 license holding company who did a bunch of millions recently is responsible for the ridicules situation with hacks - they can at least remove server side teleporting, invulnerability, invisibility literally in a week. But they do not. They have developed great platform anyone could develop its own mod and therefore nothing can be touched. What? We have purchased Arma 2 for a specific reason (DayZ) and this thing right now is turned only in a tool for harassing poor players. On top of everything is this joke called Battleye that does more damage to regular players than keeping away cheaters. On top of the top are the poor admins that are freaking out daily playing paranoid games and banning for nothing. And everything boils down to a simple thing - few functions which have to be removed server side. Now. -
Well, in my recent experience 80% of the cheater dick heads I met are Russian comrades. I am very sorry but this Eastern population is very tempted by hacking and making the game experience miserable for rest of the player base. My hosting provider doesn't allow me to ban all RU IPs (DayZ rules - how pathetic BTW for someone that can do nothing against cheating). What I did with my DE server is to set MaxPing to 60. Well, these kiddies can get new GUID or IP but they can't fake the ping right? in fact probably 30% of all Russians can still join with ping a bit over 50 but I ban these faster ISP networks manually. This doesn't resolve the cheating problem - there are many non-Russian cheaters but at least removes 60-70% of the problem. Win?

Admins currently are the only people who is doing (unfortunately very little under their control) something against cheating fukers. They spend their private time to nail down cheaters and also pay the monthly rent of the servers. The company that can do something against cheaters (ArmA license holder) and which made over 20 million dollars recently out of our money is pretending that this is "Alpha" and we have been "warned" - ....yeah I say - right.... I also do not care that DayZ standalone is under development. What they have to do is to remove few scripts and release DayZ server side "tuned" ArmA - they have just to spend a week and remove teleport, invisibility and invulnerability scripts. Everything else - we can deal with.
