We are volunteers, and I myself moderate while at work, so it's hard to be everywhere at once, but we do out best. Similarly, these boards are not Reddit - they're not politically correct because the game isn't politically correct. DayZ is about autonomy and the chance to make good and evil, smart and moronic decisions. I believe the UAZ from GM is located on the road outside, with engine parts being up in the tower and in the industrial complex directly south. The bike is located directly on the road outside the hospital entrance. It contains food, soda and other domestic lootables that you'd find in a super market.

I was taking fire from an M107 a couple of nights ago. Upon hearing the shot land near me, I lay down behind a little shed and had a think about where the shooter could have been. There was a factory nearby (near Polana) and I figured the pro sniper would probably be sitting on top of it. Then I began to chat to him as I ran around, asking who was shooting near the factory. Then I went and hopped in my little convertible and drove it down the field and through the gates, then climbed out, climbed all the way to the top. As I popped up, he tried to shoot me but missed (damn that gun is loud) and I threw a frag grenade at him. Problem was, I scrolled to smoke, and I missed the ledge and it bounced back to the stairs and began to cover me in red smoke. Then I got around to my frag and threw that directly upwards and that also landed in the stairs. I ran forward and fell and broke my legs and was bleeding, as well as shell shocked and blinded by red smoke. After mending myself for a couple of minutes I ran back up the stairs and we both shot at each other with our pistols, completely missing every shot. I kind of looked at him for a while and then went back down the stairs. Then I remembered a deer stand north, across the field, at the edge of the woods. I got in my car and drove back up the field as he was shooting at me, got to the stand and found an AKM with one mag. I loaded it up and drove back down until I returned to the factory, hopped out, walked up the stairs and shot him. I'm a pro and you can be too.

Good work on the new additions guys, and thanks for the clear format and instructions. Just a few questions. Is the UAZ the same as the military offroad/BAF? I've always referred to it as the UAZ, and I thought the BAF was a different vehicle. Can anyone confirm? In any case, keep them coming. We'll continue to update the map as we go.

I understand what you're proposing but I live in Australia and I don't want to forever play in pitch darkness. If we want to make it fully realistic, we can anchor it to an east Russian time zone so all the US and European servers have to play only at night while Dimitry from Kamchatka is pretty happy to play in sunlight whenever. You could halve synchronization, quarter it, so we can play on one of four time zones, but why not just shorten the night a bit, as I said above, or add in "night vision adjustment" where looking at lights for a certain amount of time turns your vision back to black, or any other good but realistic fix?

I think the only change I'd like is for the day/night cycle to be more true to the geographic positioning of Chernarus. It's an island, from my understanding, off the east coast of Russia. It's not snowing, which therefore would make it summer or late spring, early autumn. At that latitude, the days would be much longer than they currently are. Day would continue until 11 pm or so, and light would be back around 5.30 am. That would basically make the night time only six hours long, which I think leaves people much more incentive to people to stick around on night time servers if they know dawn will be a few hours time. Like I've said elsewhere, I'm loathe to change the realism of it, but to me this takes natural logic (the actual daylight of the geography) and incorporates it into the game world for the better. And I'm not a massive fan of people using phrases like "logical fallacy" because I think it's a bit obtuse for the rest of us Luddites to penetrate in the hopes of comprehension you feel me?

I'm happy for difficulty because of realism. That said, if I'm in a full anorak, in hiking boots, and I'm catching a cold in the middle of the day? I'm assuming my survivor knew it was Russia before he set out, so I'm wondering why the sickness is so punishing. Sure, rain and nighttime could drop it a bit but I'm finding a hit frustrating to have to lie in a fire, set behind the bush where I'm camping.

Also, just wanted to add that the face you choose in the profile will be your in game face. You can get a real nice look with a handlebar mustache and gold aviators.

This is a really cool idea. It's not intrusive and it works as a nice little decision solver in many situations. Would also defuse a few situations.
