Same here, if it was anything like the mod then the only way it would be effective is when hiding under a tree - but its actually surprisingly good - the tanned variation is good in the light brown bushes, the green sprayed ghillie is great in long grass and the darker bushes, and I've used the black spray (Mossy) but havent tested how effective it is - i switched back to woodland (green) straight away - so bad ass!

Well put! After a while though the fear of losing loot wears off and you just go around talking to people - having adventures with strangers who sometimes shoot you in the back, but also can be good fun to run around chernarus with!

In other words.. Yes. B) Hey the pic of the broadcast building, was that in the Military Base south of Zeleno by any chance a few days ago? I killed a group of 4 guys there and a straggler with my mosin and aks - and the loot looks almost identical - kept getting stuck on it it was so much!

Have to agree with you on that, DayZ is supposed to be a realistic apocalyptic survival game, but there is way too much loot, espiecially tinned foods which you would think would be the first to go along with ammo, hopefully that will be turned down soon

Still happens to me but you get the hang of it after a while, like earlier today i was talking with a guy and he pulled a gun on me and shot, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr2niKEF7nk The trick I find is to be aggressive, but not stupid, don't run out in the open, be patient but get into the mindframe that whoever just tried you is going to die, does help really - BTW, the vid is what happened earlier - recorded it for a different post but it still applies here i suppose, Anyway best of luck, practice getting accurate shots and as your confidence increases you'll relax more! One way that it could be dealt with is by using the TS3 overlay that they use for other ARMA mods like ACRE, it basically means that in order to speak to someone they have to stand right next to you, or if they are far away in-game then you have to shout, makes it more realistic, like if a heli is hovering above you then you have to shout to speak to the person next to you, not quite sure how this could be implemented in-game, but it works on TS

Well as we all know, DayZ is awesome! An after watching the latest episode of the walking dead i had an idea that might be pretty cool, what if you could spray up messages on walls, like claiming areas for yourself, warning other survivors of dangerous spots, leaving messages for other survivors to read, etc. It could be pretty cool to see a message from one of your friends saying that they have left the city and headed north or something! Anyone else have any ideas relating to this??

Another thing that might be useful, especially in the standalone, is being able to spray a map of a city / town on the ground or on a wall, and since zombies can be cleared out of an area then it could be used to show which areas are safe for now and which ones are still infested, the same thing could be used for the diseases from dead bodies, marking out where is riddled with diseases and stuff like that

Yeah that is a downside to it, unless there was a way to make it so it was used properly, like only being able to write messages like the signs in minecraft or something

Hi everyone, this post is about a new server that is now up. As the name says, we are a chernarus server, and, we have bases set up all over the map, in these bases there are tents filled with loot, vehicles, buildings, etc. If you happen to come across one of these bases then feel free to claim it as your own! Coming soon, in the next few weeks we will be bringing in a lwhitelist, so apply now if you want you're place to be reserved! Now, for the part about clans, any group that wants to join our server can do normally, and play dayz as they normally would, with a few extra things which ill discuss after this. However, on the loading screen is a website where groups / clans can register and they are then given a few extras to help them out, first of all, by registering on the site, they can choose their own loadout for EVERY TIME they spawn! So, if you get killed by another group, you wont spawn with nothing as normal, but instead you will spawn with the loadout that you requested! Also, groups are given bases and their own private helicopter spawns within those bases! So, if your heli gets shot down in a fire fight, on the next restart it will respawn back in your base! Now for the new things that have been introduced to the map, first of all, we have built another airfield, its called the SW airfield and has some treats for those who go to it! At the NW airfield, there is a fun zone, with ramps and vehicles to do jumps over planes! Also, Skalisty Island has now been turned into a helicopter airbase! If you are a solo survivor, then you can still get access to all the same extras as groups, just register through the site and when you spawn, you will have the gear you chose! We are active admins, who are on the server daily, any problems which arise are dealt with quickly to ensure that everyone in our community gets to play problem free. We also hold tournaments for those online willing to participate, these can range from assaults on bases and cities, to races around the map, with whoever / whichever group winning earning themselves / their group valuable prizes! So come on over if you want this experience! I'll leave the server name and IP at the bottom of this post, if you have any problems finding this server or just have a question then send me a message and I will get back to you fast! Most times you can disconnect straight away, but if you have been shot at or have aggro then it takes around 30 secs, thats down to the update stopping combat loggers
