Its a steep learning curve, best thing that i can advise is don't go looking for a fight, we already have too many KoSer's! A tip that I use, especially if im using a mosin, is aim for the legs, it will break them in one hit if they are not completely healthy, hell i even do that with the shotgun - that way when I go over to someone to interact and they turn on me, try to shoot me or hit me with an axe or whatever - i can break their legs and then leave them there so they can crawl to make a splint and learn the error of their ways! But gettign back to topic, it is a learning curve - and position / first sight is a huge importance in a firefight, practice on zeds if necessary to get your aim spot on - aim for the neck / head area - especially with any civ / hangun weapons - if you have to go for the kill - an SKS will knock someone out in those situations - but if you want to have some fun then shoot them in the legs if they turn on you... But, most importantly - if you do need to get into a firefight - then be prepared for it! best not to go looking for one at all - but if you do find yourself in a fight then just think of old PAM, Position, Agression, Movement! Shoot from cover - use Q and E to lean! Be agressive but not stupid - push forwards when necessary! Make them worry and scared - they won't be as agressive then and give's you an advantage - but dont run out into the open hip firing - that will get you killed! Movement - Remember that position is king! Try flanking - using cover - and if possible move without them seeing you! that will give you an edge since there'll be looking at where you were while you flank and shoot at them from the side! Hope this helps in some way!

Those servers dont actually have more loot, just have the words HIGH LOOT or whatever in the name to get people to join, if it appears that there is more loot than either you got lucky and no one had looted that area, or it was down to the loot bug where loot was spawning in ridiculous no's for the 0.50 patch. Admins dont have access to the amount of loot that spawns, I dont have access to loot amounts on my server, which was public but is now private - so it applies to both

Loved the idea's of the environment! Exactly the same as my thoughts, the environment should be diffucult to survive in, not as easy as it currently is! Just wanted to clear up a few points in the gear section! Weight System The devs are making a stamina / weight system! Carrying weapons You can carry a second primary weapon, if you have your main primary on your back then you can carry another in your hands, it means you have to drop it if you want to do anything so it is a pain, but it is possible! Switching weapons on the move You only stop to switch weapons when you aren't sprinting, so if you want to switch to your axe to kill a zed silently, double tap W and then press your hotkey, your character will start to jog while switching and then sprint when the axe is out! Loved all the idea's though! I dream of a harsh Chernarus where dying from the elements is more common! Grab Items You can! If all your inventory space is full then scroll wheel on the item and it will allow you to pick it up!

Server hopping is a broken mechanic, im sure it will be adressed at some point but it allows people to reloot the same area multiple times, server hoppers aren't as bad as combat loggers, but they're one and the same, and usually the same people. And enjoy the free time and go shoot some people? This is what adds to the KoS attitude that im sure you love to do, loot up quickly and go PvP, get killed, rinse, repeat. So not server hopping is not a dumb move, DayZ is about interacting with people that you meet, and what happens on the journey, not about shooting everything that moves. Its not about the Destination, but the journey that gets you there. - *can't remember off the top of my head who said that but I guess it applies here.

Couldn't agree with you anymore man Combat loggers must be killed ..Always. Just wondering there, if you happen to find someone logging out, would it work if you injected him with something, fed him worms, bleach etc. before he disappeared and when he came back into another server if he would be sick and poisoned? interesting idea But combat loggers need to be killed, complete cowardice, dayz is about the encounters we have, not about how much we look like a soldier and how we have such a great gun.

Best thing to where are things that reduce your silhouette, if you can't get your hands on a ghillie, then i go with Grey cargo pants, Green hoodie and Olive high cap, usually an olive face mask and a grey beanie!! Steering clear of military gear as much as poss! ('cept the high cap vest of course)

Definately agree with that! DayZ is a game about the encounters with other people, if everyone you encounter you shoot at without even speaking to, then what's the point? play 7 days to die, h1z1, etc. those games make more sense if that's the playstyle, I still remember being held up, handcuffed, brought into a barn and sat next to a fire while the guy took his clothes off, i managed to run outside, get outta the cuffs and run as far away as possible from that situation! But if i had shot him as soon as I saw him I would never have had that experience or story, just another guy I shot and killed! KoS gives you a rush, that is true, just hardcore PvP, if you die then thats that, but meeting people, seeing what it is they are doing, and either getting double crossed or getting a memorable experience is what makes the game great! it's a testament to the player's skill aswell, being able to keep an eye on the guy so that if he does try anything funny you are able to get away / fight back without being killed. There are three stages in a DayZ player's life, brand new player's who are lovely and friendly, who turn to killing everyone since that's what happened to them, and then the ones that get through that are the guys who hold people up, take chances, possibly lose gear but have a better experience from it!

If you want to try out all the new stuff they add in through the updates - you should switch to Experimental branch, there were 20 trucks per server and everyone had a ghillie for the 0.51 update

So a couple of weeks ago i started streaming and posting videos to youtube and now one of them is nearly at 1,000 views! -not the biggest milestone by all parts but its a first for me so oh yeah! Anyway what I was wondering is what do you guys like to see in video's? I want to build a community of players that talk and play together (we have a server that we're planning on turning into a recording / streaming server) so people and subscribers can join in and feature in the video's, but to make that work I need to build the community more! So like I was saying what do you guys want to see in video's? Im completely open to trying out new stuff on the channel and since it's mainly DayZ vids that go up, thought you would have the best opinion since you probably watch other channels on youtube! One of the idea's we were going to try out was to have a gameshow, a quiz type show where you get it right, go to the next round, get it wrong and ...get taken outside.... with the winner getting fully geared up :D So what do you guys want to see in the vids anyway? Any idea's i'll be sure to try out over xmas since I'll have some time off work!
