We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
weedmasta replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
I don't see a solution anywhere in your wall of text. Just lots of ranting. Bandit skin was tried in the mod and removed afterwards because it did not work. And it isn't going to work for SA either. There is no reason to make being a hero easier as that wouldn't reflect reality. Plus, it won't stop KOS nor will it reduce it, just like it didn't in the mod. People will still KOS no matter what and that is fine by me. -
With regards to having separate hives for 1st person and 3rd person servers, I really don't see the point. There is absolutely no need to separate them and I have yet to see a valid argument as to why they should be on separate hives.

Depends, for CQB you really want an M4.

gg on duplicating items with your new friends, which is btw a banable offence.

Spell check would not hurt either.

It works, just the "Healthy and Healing Status" that should show up in your inventory screen is bugged and is not showing up.

Rolling Update Rev. 0.30.114008
weedmasta replied to Hicks_206 (DayZ)'s topic in News & Announcements
All the people complaining and raging on the forums are not the fanbase. The fanbase is patiently waiting for fixes and report bugs instead. -
They were probably seeking cover like you guys were and didn't know where else to hide :D

That is his point, zombies will be a factor when you have to decide whether to engage someone or not because you could be overwhelmed by them. You'll think twice before engaging someone in a city with a firearm...well hopefully :)

Dental Hygiene (Not as bad as you think)
weedmasta replied to green_machine's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps because people accept it when others tell them that their idea is not that great after all and move on instead of spouting random insults at people? ;) There already is and going to be a lot of micromanagement in the game in terms of actual survival which makes sense from a gaming perspective and is not tedious (some of these obviously haven't been implemented or don't work as intended at the moment): - Drinking (e.g. possibly can get you sick if you drink from a pond) - Food (e.g. you get sick if you eat rotten fruit) - Weather effects (e.g dampness of clothes->getting flu) - Infection from wounds - Broken limbs - Sore feet (from shoes in bad condition or shoes that are damp) - Ruined equipment (at the moment only effecting a few items but that will change) - Poisoning etc. -

They better have pictures on them. I want to know what flavor I am chewing. It was considering this thread is kinda irrelevant. -
You sure you looked at all the numbers? Current players 600 more than Dayz. At peak 45k players for Dayz vs. 22k for Rust. 14.7 million hours played on Dayz vs 8.5 on Rust despite Dayz being officially released as alpha 5 days after Rust. Also I gotta say looking at other people's schlongs for hours on end is not everyone's cup of tea, along with terrible graphics, small map size and horrid animations and physics.

It will be harder eventually as stuff is added (such as weather effects on the body for example), just with other actual innovative ways than brushing your fucking teeth. -

That can be done perhaps in the long run. I would say a 30 second timer would suffice. Having said that, there are more important stuff to address right now. -

No just trying to demonstrate how ridiculously stupid the idea of dental hygiene in Dayz SA is. -

Yea we should add sharting, so you have to change your pants if you shart else you get sick from the smell and sharting gives your position away. Oh and lets add cleaning ears as well else we won't be able to hear as well as we should. Oh and lets add washing yourself in the pond, otherwise if you are too dirty you pass out from the smell. Oh fuck it lets just go play Sims instead. -
I have been reading through the reports for the past half an hour and there are a lot of reports that are unnecessary or plain unhelpful making the ones that matter wait in a long list of nothingness. A few tips to help the devs so they can go through the bug reports faster and don't have to filter through rubbish and therefore can spend more time actually fixing stuff: 1. Make sure you use the search function before you file a report. This is very important. Just in the first couple of minutes of reading the reports there were at least 20 reports only for character resets (and there are many many more). Put yourself in the devs shoes and be a little more considerate before you post your report and use the search function to make sure the same report hasn't been filed before. 2. Steps to reproduce: This is a very important part of the bug reporting process as without it, it will just take longer for the devs to figure out the bug. Don't leave it empty or write e.g. "I suggest you don't reproduce it." in the box. It is unhelpful and a waste of time. 3. Make sure your report is detailed. Especially when it comes to hardware problems. e.g. Only writing "I have XX gfx card and my FPS is terrible, fix it immediately" is not going to help you nor the devs, do anything about it. 4. The bug tracker is not a wishlist or a suggestion box, keep that to the forums (there will be a Suggestion section on the forums eventually), and use the bug tracker for bugs. 5. Again similar to number 4, missing features are not bugs. Reporting that the walkie talkie you just found is unusable for example will just clutter the bug tracker. Please don't report missing features as bugs, there are so many reports about missing features that I started praying for the devs and I am an atheist :p 6. Most important of all, do your homework before you file a report in the bug tracker. Don't report bugs that are already fixed in the Rolling or Pending updates. Also make sure that what you are reporting (if you have not found it in the bug tracker via the search function) is indeed a bug by searching the forums and google and try to reproduce it before you file a report.

Yes, that link is what I was referring to. -

I know these are obvious and straight-forward for some people but looking at the reports it apparently isn't for a lot of others. :( -
DayZ Is Officially Ruined(Player Wise)
weedmasta replied to daniels's topic in New Player Discussion
Have you ever watched videos of Black Friday? And that is just for discounted items that you have to pay for. Imagine the world ending and everything is "free". :D -
People really need to go ahead and read the devblogs and what not both before and after the release before posting an "ideas" thread. Most of these "ideas" that you guys have, have already been mentioned and or discussed by the devs...
-
Lol what? Of course it is a bug...

Well at least you are stab proof now :p
