Man on the Hill - 30 Kills, 6 Minutes, NWAF.

Used some remaining footage to compile a quick outtake reel. Nothing special, all the production effort went into the actual montage. Just something extra :) And was I justified in freaking out over that fire? What was that? Even if it is in Amra 2 is it viable to find that in DayZ without generated non-DayZ items?
  2. MaximumBullfrog

How 90% of Day Z live streamers play.

This is why I'm starting to favour the montage flavour for DayZ videos. Slow deliberate tension makes for better playing than it does watching.

And What If He Wasn't Dumb Enough To Stream?

This is like the most appropriate music choice ever.

There's bullet drop, I just use the zeroing. You use Page Up and Down to change where the middle of the scope lands, which defaults to 300. The mil dots represent the same thing based on what you set the middle for. No wind though, and yeah that does bug me too. It would actually be pretty awesome if I could do what I did here but with wind and NWAF had some flags I could look at to judge wind direction ahead of time.

Guess I can do ya one step better since I didn't make much use of them, if only because I already knew the ranges ahead of time ;) Basically before I started I mapped out the distance estimates to key landmarks to judge by. The Firestation was 800, tip of the far hangar was 850, Comm tower was 700, Barn was 650, the road down the hill from me was 400, the wall was 300, the warehouse towards vybor that you never saw was 600 and the industrial park in Vybor was 850. Good idea to do that before anyone shows up if you're camping anyway. It's not too hard to do with the map if you have it and can pinpoint your spot.

For the most part no, since I wanted to get this recorded in a timely manner due both to other things I have to do and the fact that I wanted to hit 30 before 1.7.2 (30th was literally the morning 1.7.2 came out, and I hear it messed a lot of players up so good thing for that eh lol) and didn't always have friends or group members online at the NWAF to play the ground mule. I did have a few guys pick over I think 4 or 5 of the people I shot though because they were looking for some specific stuff. I was going to have one friend check bodies for NVGs cause he wanted a set but he never got around to coming to NWAF and ultimately missed out. Mostly I just hawked the bodies afterwards in hopes someone would go check for loot, but I never got a kill that way because everyone clears out of NWAF the moment they hear gunfire or flies. I usually had to wait around 15-20 minutes for someone else to come along. There's a few other kills I never got that I was hoping for: -someone finding my spot and getting a bullet point blank in the face. Closer than Helios I mean. A few times someone started shooting at something pretty close by and I sunk into my nest hoping they'd come within view, but nobody found me like that in the end :( -someone in Vybor, which I could also see bits of. -I was originally planning to have a friend come along and use the rifle I used to kill me, so I could mark myself down as the 31st kill, but stories of 1.7.2's mishaps led me to just roll with the footage I had.

Nah, it stays, I just masked it in editing because I didn't like the clutter.

I'd probably say there's around 8 servers between the 30 of them, with 3 to 4 kills a server, depending on if I was getting a quick kill in before work or had some time to kill on any given evening or afternoon. Keep in mind that tags aren't nearly as helpful at an airfield as they would be in a town or city, because here you got a tight collection of places to focus on and a linear path that people follow rather than just a random assortment of streets and buildings to try and keep tabs on all at once. I'll see them proper before I see their tag. The tags mostly come into affect here when someone down there sees mine up on the hill, like Helios and a couple others did (I think kill 19 was lining a shot up when I shot him) and blows my cover. It really isn't something in my favor :P I wanted to avoid them and tried, but the setting is virtually omnipresent right now due to the hacker hunt. Hey now, I ain't shamin'. I made a topic for some of these guys, like how Joppers stood his ground instead of logging and Filipe trying to close the gap to me. Only people I really made fun of were the two loggers who logged back into the exact same server they just got sniped at on, and the guy sitting in the illegal heli. Well I made fun of kill 13 but I was feeling facetious that day :P I might do another montage like this but it's either going to be nighttime DMR or something else entirely. I'm juggling the idea of a Hatchet or LMG montage. Love to do a heli montage but Rocket needs to fix the issues there first. DayZ Hueys have their turrets right? Either way it won't be for a while.

Wish I remembered which servers I was on, sorry. This was recorded periodically over the period of just over a week and I tended to favor whatever server had the best ping and draw distance any given day. I remembers Kills 1-3, 7 and 17 were in Chicago 53, The bus guys and a handful of others were on the BRA servers, around 5 of them were on US 172 and the rest were usually either on that number range of US servers or on a Chicago server. In in Newfoundland so trying to snipe stuff on the closest thing I have to a "Home Server," US Hardcore 1 and 2 tends to be troublesome due to latency. As far as tags go, I did what I could to avoid them, but the best servers I play on have them on for trying to catch hackers apparently. I can tell ya for a fact they are more of a detriment to a sniper than they are a benefit since it's an easy way for me to get found (Helios for example). The real giveaway that someone's on the tarmac is seeing zombies wandering around it. That's mostly what I was watching for :P
  10. Details in the description. Here's the quick list of people in the video if you turned out to be in it and have any input. Particularly would love the two unidentified people to tell me who they are :) I wanna hear what you guys were doing at the time. There's so much story behind each kill that I just don't get to see on my end. Kill 1: John Kill 2: Jay Kill 3: Pok Kill 4: Bondov Kill 5: Felipe Kill 6: Fragg Kill 7: Caelan Kill 8: Slinistro Kill 9: MrBigglesworth Kill 10: Forenzik Kill 11: Unidentified Kill 12: Davi Kill 13: Thuh OR Cliente Kill 14: Jeff Kill 15: blacksheep Kill 16: Ethan Kill 17: Helios Kill 18: furntree Kill 19: Sumaxx Kill 20: Ruinz Kill 21: Unidentified Kill 22: Zeigar Kill 23: Forum Kill 24: [NekoNet] Bosko Kill 25: Matt Kill 26: Kayden Kill 27: Joppers Kill 28: PoLLo Kill 29: Psychospear Kill 30: Ev3nflow Here's some numbers: The longest shot was Kill 8, at around 870 meters, standing target. The shortest shot was Kill 17, a headshot on the driver of s truck at around 100 meters. The most difficult shot was Kill 27, a shot to an exposed foot at 818 meters. These are not in chronological order, and I masked the debug menu and other peripheral material in editing. And the song is by Kevin MacLeod. Support that man.

    Famous Last Words

This is less about last words and more why you get what's coming to you for playing in third person. You can't shoot from the hip worth a damn in that mode.

Unluckiest group ever - 3 people taken down in 5 sec

I never take snipers to the coast just because there's no meat to it. They're all starters. I know this makes me sound like a bastard, but sniping someone just has more oomph to it when they're a few hours into a character :) I'm uploading my own sniping montage right now. I pull something to this effect at the end with a more well equipped team if it'll wet your whistle. About the same range though, which for where I was was pretty close.

    415-425 meters if I remember.

I know exactly what hill you're on because I've camped that exact spot just to hit the comm tower, with the same gun, like a month ago. It's a bit disconcerting.
