Once again the A.C.E mod comes into mind when I think of the SA medical system. I think you can do CPR in ACE mod and stuff like that but the real cool thing about ACE is the near-death system. When a person gets shot anywhere but the head they go down but can be killed with enough bullets. So if someone did go down they pass out for like 2 minutes and can possibly wake up but sometimes you don't wake up if the damage is lethal enough. I have had people die in front of me in that mod because the person is riddled with bullets. It would be a great example for starting out the combat medical system in Standalone...but there is a whole lot more to medical stuff than combat scenarios.

When the Standalone is released I'm sure Dean will cry out "Havoc!". You can't force players into doing something that prevents shooting on sight. I try to give everyone I meet the benefit of the doubt..but sometimes they just want to PvP. You'll be suprised how friendly people are when they need something from you like, say, antibiotics?

At first I was annoyed b/c of previous stated reasons but then the patch grew on me... like a fungus(huehue). I like how the devs are making DayZ a survival game and no longer a DM arena with zombie distractions. Also the new features kind of remind me of the Standalone footage we have seen. Maybe they are giving us a taste of the new game?

Greetings! Well, today I had gotten disconnecting by the server for whatever reason(Restriction #0) and when I reconnected I saw someone standing in front of me. The person wasn't moving and had my exact same loadout/skin and was at the spot where I was kicked off. This person then proned and started swiveling his head looking around and would not move. I figured that this was a clone bug like the old hero standup glitch thing. This also happened a second time to a guy I met at Zelenogorsk. He was disconnected and then reconnected to having a clone of him there. I actually thought it was him and kept repeating where he wanted to go then I was suprised to see him come running the other way telling me he got kicked. Well, we didn't want to shoot the clone because it may kill him or something weird... so we just left "him". Has anyone else experienced this bug? Edit: Uh, sorry this should be in Bug Reports... if it is a problem would be nice to be moved there.

I've only shot 1 person since the 1.7.7 patch. Most people I encounter are friendly and one time I actually had a bandit come and blood bag me when I was about to die. This patch changes people. Anyway, the guy I did shoot was a hatchet bandit who was charging at me. If I saw CZ survivor I would come around them and ask if they were friendly through voice. Then If the person was friendly we'd go on a merry journey around Chernarus. If the person didn't respond and hasn't seen me I either shoot to knock out/break the legs or I avoid. I don't like to kill people... I'm not one of them.

Wild zeds are a good when they spawn server side... but it does not work for the mod but would be a great example of the power of the Standalone.

Check the Balota medical Camp... look high and low.

You should make it read Helicopter crash coordinates through a mayday call. Example: "Mayday, Mayday" "This is Hawk-1 we have lost all remaining fuel reserves and are going down." "Current coordinates are (numbers here) I repeat (numbers again)." Then you could go to that general area and try to find the doomed heli.

Almost everyone I have ran into in this new patch is friendly because they are so ill-equipped that they couldn't afford to shoot me even if they wanted to. Normally I just help them out If I have a blood bag but if I have antibiotics I can almost never spare them because of the zombies who slap my ass and infect me. Still really fun hehe

This Standalone looks so beautiful. I can see through those rough edges and it will definetly be worth the wait.

It is much more survival like which I would really like if the zombies weren't screwed up. I ran from Stary to like Zeleno running through almost every bush and this one zombie kept coming. Also that knockdown ability is a good idea but executed poorly. IMO the zeds should go into a frenzy mode and all the ones aggroed should charge you when you're down and rip your guy to shreds. Since the tackle is not too damaging it just becomes an extremely annoying feature. The mod limitations kinda trump this patch and make it fall short of what it could have been( not the community devs fault). Standalone could really capitalize on these features and make them better with improved animations and such. Also infections are brutal now... that is good but maybe making the hospitals spawn medical loot more often would make it more fun. I mean, why would people scramble for blood bags in an apocalypse? Obviously there shouldn't be those boxes full of medical loot but instead maybe more blood bags on the floor. BTW I like this patch but it can be frustrating.

People will find ways to look retarded with freedom of choice. Although, making it impractical to go around in underwear and helmet in cherno only. The helmet, I believe, is going to be limiting a character's vision. IMO you shouldn't have the ability to go into 3rd person but you can see your character in the Inventory menu. BUT that is a different topic. Also this post reminds me of this:

You should keep that AS50 as a relic or give it to a bandit nub and see if he tries to betray you.
