hi guys, ive been playing dayz for a while now and i have a problem. i can only play on low population servers. ive adjusted the settings and my video card settings etc, ive did almost everything i can to increase my fps. but whenever i go on a high population server (20 people is enough) my fps drops down to 9-18. (if im lucky, my average fps is 12-15. outside of cities btw) i have small lag spikes in between dropping my fps to 6. my specs Windows 7 Nvidia Geforce GTX 550 Ti AMD Athlon dual core 7750 4 GB on memory 32 bits control system 60 MB internet connection. could you guys help me?

so i would need to buy a new Motherboard first?

ok, then what should be best to replace first? the dual core to a quad core or?

you decide your endgame, ga make one. go pick up Bambi's on the coastline and create your own clan of fully armed bambi's. take over cherno or something XD you can keep yourself entertained no problem. just like with minecraft, you have to look at what your options are. and then i mean not what you can do ingame, but how you can make it ingame more fun using means out of game (or a different playstylem, try being a Hero or a Roleplaying Bandit?)

don't know anything about the RAM but your video card should run it no problem. you might want to try disabling things like post proccesing and wait for Vsync. will increase the fps. and make the game less laggy and choppy.

what program do you use? i would download Dayz commander as a start.with the Dayz commander update/install option you can check if you have a wrong version of the mod or the game. from what you posted here, the servers are rejecting you cause you have a wrong version. search up Dayz commander, install it, go to the top right corner (Install/update) and install the maps you want to play, and the correct Arma II and Dayz patch. good luck!

set some goals. go repair a vehicle, set up a base of operations with friends. meet up with friends. the world is open, you need to fill in the goals :P

this is not illegal, you buy the game on conditions. (a whole list) if you cross the line and don't meet one of those conditions such as bad behavior and or hacking, they have the right to ban you. keep bugging BE untill they respond and hope for a good outcome..

Hi, i suddenly got teleported yesterday while playing in my favorite server. then i got a message saying i got bannend because of a script restriction. i don't even know what scripting is O.o so after that i could still join, but i tried today and i can't join. i can't find any way to get in contact with the owner/admin of the server. any idea's suggestions? except ofcourse moving to a different server. it has been declared a fps issue, i have the same problem. but when i got a new video card it dissapeared.

id suggest you either try out with a group on a Dayz server, or alone or with a group on a Wasteland server. many people quit this game caus they are tired of getting shot before they even see the other player/guy. starting out with Wasteland will quickly teach you the combat skills you will need in Dayz. in Dayz (personal opinion) you have a lot more to lose if you die (you start again with 0 gear) alot of people also ragequit the game thanks to that dynamic, while others (most Dayz players) love it cause it brings excitement and danger, you have te be alert and aware of your surroundings 24/7. i suggest you start with Wasteland to get used to the routine of dying, picking up new gear and heading back to the location you needed to go. it will reduce stress while playing dayz. my video card is kind of broken at the moment, but i will be able to play in about 1 week. i started looking for a squad/clan. but i only found little kids who aren't playing serious. so im looking for players who actually want to survive, using whatever means neccesary. good use of tactics, scouting ahead, quickly giving directions through the compass and clock system, including the range. if you are interested add me on skype. please stop these kinds of post, Dayz is STILL in Alpha, its still developing ALOT. they first need to get their things straight, make sure the game is ok, before even releasing stand alone, and definitly before deciding to release it for console. to be honest i don't like consoles, my personal opinion, and i really don't care about some fight between pc and console gamers. but please stop, its useless. let them CREATE the game FIRST before asking for more. one game at a time..

Hi i started playing Dayz a while back and i could play just fine the first hour or two. after that things started to get messy. im unable to play thanks to incredible slow gameplay (when i spawn it takes up to 5 seconds untill the location i am in is revealed in the bottem right corner.) when i try to move it moves slow, to slow to be able to play, i have some good servers/moments when i can play fine, but even then i have a bit of lag end frequent screen freezes of about 1 to 2 seconds, making firefights impossible. it runs smooth in the main menu, no problem at hand, its just when i try to join a server. 90% of the time the game is unplayable, and i keep witching servers untill the game runs somewhat smooth, which is frustrating cause it takes me 30-45 min only to find a server i can decently play at. i really need some help cause i love the game, but im thinking about quitting because it is so unplayable. thanks in advance! i got geared upon in a town called cherno.. i realized that this would be a fight for survival as i headed into the wilds and the unknown. i arrived at a airfield, far up north, i got into a barracks, when i openend one of the doors my heart skipped a beat.. there he was, a man covered in leaves as he sat right there looking at me, for 2 seconds we looked at eachother then we both unloaded our guns.. i instinctivly aimed for his head, and got a couple of shots dead on, but not before he got my in my legs.. i started bleeding heavily dropping my blood to 2k.. with broken bones and unbearable pain there i was on the floor.. i sceamed for help, thinking some bandit would probably hear me and kill me for my gear.. after a while some guy responded saying he would help me out. i waited.. and waited.. untill i heard a chopper in the far distance.. the sound came closer and closer.. untill it stopped right near me.. not knowing what was going on, i aimed my gun at the door, untill 4 heavily geared guys came out, they scannend the area, then one of them walks up to me, helps me get up, and carries me to the chopper.. once in the chopper we took off, they dropped me at a castle which was their home base, and trusted me to keep my mouth shut.. Best guys ever <3 you saved me there against all odds..

implant this thought into your head: im being watched. think that you are being watched ALL the time, everywhere everytime. raising your level of awarness is key, as it allows you to spot snipers and players alike. look around you as much as you can with the ALT key, always move crouched. use the treeline, NEVER cross a open field, be paranoid ;) if it takes longer to walk with the treeline instead of crossing the field, just follow the treeline, security is more important then time. scout the treeline around the towns, make sure there are no snipers there. if you are going to loot, scan the area (360) and get in and get out, do not waste any time. those are my only tips i can give you.

i have a good internet connection, have not encountered any problems, yes i look for servers with low ping, and my ping on every server is about 16-32. i have tried turning off antialiasing and post proccesing, also i turned all my settings back to high. the game is running smooth now, but im afraid it will be only for a while, ill post the resulst. thanks Gio

i have seen one hacker, which teleported everyone into the air and killed us all, and one city nuke. however the admin on the server had bannend the hacker within 1 min and rolled back the server 20 min, so everyone had his/her gear again and nothing happend. it is still a alpha mod so thinks like this are bound to happen. the grafic glitches are annoying, but setting your video memory to default took care of it for me. (have not seen it since) tip: try playing on a private server, the admin is usually online and you won't encounter as much hackers as the hive servers. im now playing on a private server which i think about 90 people play on (30 slots) so it is a tiny community, side chat is on, so you can laugh and talk with eachother and i had a good time. (like killing someone who walks through a door while your hugging the wall, and he can laugh about it. easy said) i am playing on the server Need4Beans. try it!

to be honest.. im a bit scared about the whole dog idea.. i tried playing with the dog at gamescom. but the dog was slower, did not attack or anything, he could identify animals however.. the thing im afraid of, is that the dog will give away your position etc etc, and just be a nuisance. it would be a shame if i had to waste a bullet every time i spawn to get rid of the dog.. (would be a shame for the dog ;) )

I ended up crowded by zombies at the NWAF barracks (South side) i had 2k blood and broken bones. (i was prone and openend up a door that broke my legs... yeah.. bad move xP.. At any rate, i asked in all chat for help, i had a DMR alice back i was all geared up, but i didn't have a choice.. out of nowhere some guy answers me, saying he will patch me up. so i was there on the floor.. thinking.. he is gonna walk over to me and shoot me in the head.. i hear a heli in the distance, as it gets closer and closer it stops near the airfield. 4 guys fully geared run in, secure the location and patch me up! i didn't believe what happend.. so i walked my way down the airfield, and i noticed one of them in the ATC tower.. tempted to give him a headshot, (y im a mean person..) i aimed my DMR at his head.. suddenly i hear one AS50 shot near my feet.. very close.. i start running like hell away from the airfield, and in chat one of the 4 guys said he gave me a warning :P

i played with steam a while back, my friend learned me how. i got no idea how he did it, he guided me through it, but it also depends on what launcher you use. keep in mind steam does not support Dayz, it is a mod not a game. therefoe steam will freak out the moment you launch Dayz because he thinks its Arma II while it isn't. you can look it up on google, im sure you can find a answer ;) Gr Gio
