Good on you, and don't fucking change. Apparently (according to the various arguments used by bandits/children on here), the "realistic" thing to do in a situation such as the one that has befallen Chernarus would be to --instead of sticking together, helping each other to eradicate the zombie infestation and rebuilding society-- slaughter every living, non-infected human on sight, man or woman, simply because you have a gun and it's "fun" to shoot stuff. There are others who claim that the "only" way to survive is by killing other people and taking their stuff, but I'm sure that even they can see right through that excuse. As long as you haven't stooped down to the "KOS becauze evryone else does :DDD" bullshit, then you're countering the CoD mentality that Day Z has become known for, and that's a good thing. Thank you.

Great gun (although the ammo is pretty rare). Enjoy it while you can.

Another one that I think a lot of people rag on is the CZ 550. It's pretty common (although some people seem not to be able to find them at all) and so is the ammunition for it. It's a pretty decent weapon.

Due to the commonality of the ammo, the DMR would be more useful overall. I personally prefer the SVD, mainly because of the built-in rangefinder, but the camo also works well with a Ghillie Suit.

FN FAL AN/PVS-4, easily.

What is it with hackers and G36C SDs? You might as well snag the suppressed M4; overall, it's a better performer, plus it's a legitimate gun.

Yeah, that sh­it's pretty fu­cking funny in my opinion. I also like when they occasionally let out a sort of comical scream after being shot. It almost sounds like "whooooaaaa!" or "ooohhhhhh!". Lol.

I love the weapon, too. Playing at night time with a suppressed M4, a good deal of STANAG SDs, and a pair of NVGs can lead to some pretty long survival streaks.

This is a secret and somewhat profitable marketing strategy. Slowly and discretely "break" the mod-based version of DayZ while simultaneously hyping the standalone version's stability/playability so that by the time it is actually released, people will be throwing cash at their computer screens faster than Rocket can count it.

I think you mean the wrong gun. It's super rare. I think he was alluding to the fact that, with the rampant duping and scripted-in weapons (although this weapon in particular is legitimate), it's much easier to find one on another player's dead body than it is to find one through scavenging loot.

As many others have said, staying away from major cities unless you absolutely need something from them (which should only be the case if you're just starting on a fresh respawn) goes without saying. If you really wanna go for the long haul: grab some NVGs, a suppressed M4, a good deal of STANAG SD magazines, and only play at night, sticking to dense forrests that are miles away from the northern/eastern coast. Head into the smaller towns when you need supplies, but use common sense, and you should be fine. You could also try snagging a L85A2 AWS or the FN FAL AN/PVS-4, although they're usually much harder to find. While the L85A2's reputation precedes it, I've noticed that many people like to rag on the FN FAL AN/PVS-4 for its perceived uselessness. But, if you're sticking with the "night only" playstyle, then it's a beast of a weapon, with the only (but very important) downside being the fact that ammunition for this weapon is even rarer than the weapon itself. Of course, if you're not really into PvP, then the NVG/M4SD combo should be perfectly fine for night scavenging with the added bonus of nearby zombies not being able to hear/notice the M4 being fired.

Great idea for an air force, but as Dr.Lyme said, most choppers are only going to last a few hours, if that. Still support your idea, though. If/when the An-2 gets added to DayZ, it can also be incorporated.

That was a direct hit on center mass. A limb shot (against a deer or a human) would most likely remove that appendage.
