    Even with enough man hours to complete such a map, it would not run. Think of cherno. That main city pushes really good rigs. So that is about the limit for geometry density in this engine at this time.
  2. Just thought I'd mention in case you didn't hear that in the latest eurogamer talk Rocket mentioned this and said that he really wants to add an option that disables sound and gives deaf people visual cues instead. So good job starting this thread.

  4. The pathogen responsible for the outbreak causes certain neural areas to take precedence over others. Areas dedicated to cognitive reasoning shrink and areas dedicated to senses like smell increase in size. This is possible and in fact occurs in our brains every day. Neuro-plasticity. Perhaps it should be considered that zombies have a powerful sense of smell. Larger groups of players could increase the awareness of zombies to a state that makes them easier to aggro. It could add gameplay mechanics such as using meat to distract zombies. (Speaking of which, wouldn't it be cool if you could feed zombies like ducks, throwing pieces of meat at them and watching them fight over it :D)

    Right now there are groups of people playing the game that are highly organized and ruthless. For example almost all of the youtubers I have seen. I think making zombies much more lethal and adding the possibility of infection will make dayz a lot better all round. Either dayz must have an endgame, or it must be impossible to survive indefinitely. Anything in between hastens the onset of boredom. I prefer the latter (Make it like Doom II on nightmare :D).
  6. I suggest that it should be made more difficult to shoot in general, by decreasing the steadiness of the hands of the characters.

  8. Chance for infection from zombie hits. Clothing has a general protection rating. Leathers! (motorbike style) they would give fairly good protection. Ghillie suit? poor protection. Undies? :)

  11. Good suggestions. I especially like blood trails/footprints. That would add more to gameplay so beans.

    It would be more of a challenge to survive if each session you had to start again. It could be more fun that way if the world was REALLY hard to survive in, and surviving for a long time was ridiculously hard.

    People actually do crap like that? Wow. perhaps one should not be able to join a server if one will be spawning within 200 meters of another player.

    I think it's important not to turn the map into an amusement park. All your suggestions are great but the majority of areas should be very ordinary residential/commercial districts to retain a sense of reality "grittiness."

    Dynamic Physics system!

    I thought Physics like ragdoll was very hard to synchronize over networks. Everyone has to see a unique ragdoll, locally, that's how it usually works I thought. Don't expect any gameplay-enhancing physics like player-player physics interaction because the amount of data you'd need to send to all the clients on the server makes it implausible (I think) maybe a programmer could comment.
  17. Bullets and ammo as separate items, manual loading of mags. Know it's been said, just re-iterating. I hope the dayz Dev team spends a lot of time time on AI optimisation for better CPU performance and immersion. ARMA 2 AI obviously wasn't made for stuff like this. Maybe even building the AI from the ground up? Wouldn't be as complex as ARMA 2 and might be worth it. Arma 2 doesn't use much of the fourth CPU core. What if separate AI groups could be processed on different cores? I'm not a programmer, but that sounds nice.
