I think if the game was more socialized, more realistic, more dynamic and had more objectives. The game would developed a makeshift government(s) and people working together for bigger goals it would ease up the PvP Now i don't think this will end loan wolf Bandits or Shoot on sight tactics. I don't want them to end I just don't want everyone to be killing on sight I'm also not saying there will be only one Gov' if this was implemented. it would start with 50 lone wolfs and they will make small groups, those groups will get bigger, and by the end of the game there will be 1-3 big factions fighting it out with a couple lone wolfs thrown in the mix. Hell there could be 1 faction and then a rebel group break off of it. So I don't think there is any need for the game to force me how to feel anymore. I believe Teamwork is the answer to Shoot on sight tatics, not dictating how someone should feel.

I really agree with this post, I've personally witnessed my self turn in to a player who uses side chat and hides from the world. so I agree with taking away chat (not direct chat) Through when you say, new players shouldn't have a tutorial. I think that's not right. You know how to drink in real life, it's a basic action that doesn't really require teaching through in DayZ you don't know how to drink so basic tutorial should be required. With this being said: I agree with almost your whole post there will always be people who uses TeamSpeak or Skype to cheat Dayz communications. There will always be youtube. no way around that. +1 vote to this idea Edited: I don't like the idea of the game forcing a mental state on you. if the game was "realistic" it would make you feel bad for killing, or feel lonely for hiding in the woods IRL.
  4. I really like this idea. The concept of establishing a government(s) is quite interesting and is a real world factor. people will unite in real life to bring stability. why not in Dayz too. you also said something about bringing power to town once it's be captured. I think this is where my idea and your idea can go hand and hand. (i.e. http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6791 ) Then if people who owned another town wanted to assault your town, in a "turf war" they could seize the power plant to cut power to your town. also giving the people who own towns the concern about who owns power plants and who they are allied with. Also zombies could spawn out side of a re-populated town ever 30-60 mins to try to retake it

    Booby Traps

    I'd really like to see traps to. cover your camps flanks/entrances/exits. I know Claymores/tripwire flares/gas mines and other mines are in ACE and other ACE objects have been transferred over to Dayz I don't think it would be that hard to bring over some mines I love this idea. huge fan of traps
  6. http://www.wikihow.com/Turn-Salt-Water-Into-Drinking-Water It is possible but it seems a little more complicated then just boiling water but it is possible to purify salt water I think one Jerry can should = 3 water canteens since 1 canteen = 1 slot and 1 jerrycan = 3 slots but this is a neat idea Got my vote
  7. Thanks for trying to keep this out there for people to see :blush: +1 Rep I don't really care what it's powered by. I do think gas would be the simplest , and requiring it to have fuel of some sort would give the people who are controlling it a distraction from holding down the fort 24/7 though if it was nuclear power and it wasn't maintain currectly. say goodbye to the south :D
  8. I agree with a lot of this but not all of it ;), almost made a post the exact same. though some of the stuff you are talking about, are not even that way in ACE witch is pretty much real life. I think Arma has it's limits on how much you can mod it. Also there is a post around here, thats talking about a mod called "STMovement". in it you can switch to your pistol, and have your rifle resemble the actions of a rifle on a 1 point sling. I think this would mainstream the firearms in the game and would be quite nice

I think they have small generators in the game also, maybe you can use the jerry cans to fuel those to light up camps and what not but if you could seize a power plant, it would put you in a powerful spot. a lot of people would come hunting your head, not including the zombies that are attracted the the humming. there will be a big risk for that power lol
  11. as far as mini objectives go, this is why I said you need to repair it. it would prob take a team to do it efficiently. if one person did repaired it by him self it might take longer then a day. and I think the reward is.. being able to see in towns.
  12. I think ya'll are getting to far in to it. It's not about rather one person can kill or if another person has a hard time killing, It's about how most people in Dayz kills with out a thought in their simple little mind. with out punishment. this promotes PVP. Hell! there is no reason for people to put a 2nd thought between them and their trigger. Killing someone should effect you. but not every time only the 1st two times you kill. 1st time you kill, it should effect you for 5 mins or so, you get sick, dizzy, shaken. Whatever. 2nd time you kill, it should effect you for 2 mins or so. same effects 3rd time no effects . arguing that some people are hardcore and have a better mental state to handle killing, this doesn't fix the problem of aimlessly shooting people
  13. I really like this idea, I'm a strong believer in letting the world of Dayz take it's course no mater what happens. treat it like it's real life. and people don't do that. Like i said in a previous post, It takes away from the dynamics of the game. The whole point of the game is to gain/loose stuff, to survive no mater what the circumstances are but I don't think this includes cheating death. If they did this, they would have to put a message somewhere obvious so people don't get their selves killed due to ignorance.
  14. Direct channel works how it's suppose to, through there are bugs with it. It's suppose to resemble two people talking off comms, and irl if i say something to you, you should beable to dictate my general direction. also if i'm speaking off comms i can't yell so loud you can hear me 5 klicks out, so limited range is also good.

  16. I would love, LOVE, LOVE! to see the 10/22. spec if it had magazines that where easy to find.. MMMM baby. you still should add it, even if your not replacing it with the Winchester ;)

Yeah, I figured as much by the end of the post but it would be fun as shit to have! if the 870 is a mid-grade shotgun i don't know what could be low grade not saying the 870 sucks, it's just a good representative of every shotgun and it seems like they only get better from there could use the Taurus Judge, a revolver chambered in .410 shells, but it can also use .45 bullets
