It's like this in ACE, shouldn't be hard to transfer over, he has pulled other ACE things over.

I like this idea, as far as purifying salt water, it should be possible but it should take a while and require some tools. to do it you need a pot, a cup and a led for the pot. slow boil the water evaporates and turns back on to water on the led, then falls in to the cup in the in the middle of the pot. BAM fresh water since getting water from the sea was to easy when it was a part of Day Z, i think if they reinstitute it, it would have to require some tools and take some time due to the slow boil Main reason I like this idea is cause the temp factor of the game isn't really used to it's max. Only thing the temp does is make you seek shelter when it's raining, and then cause you to log off cause it rains for 5 hours =l

I like tents, though they are a pain in the ass to find a place to pitch. If you do it could save you tail daring a rain storm. but I like your idea too ;) Why not have both

I think there is a post about the cross bow, i'm not sure. 1 slot should = 5 bolts since a normal cross bow quiver (The kind that are attached to the x-bow) holds 4+1 in the "chamber" Also agree with the bow having increased range, i made a suggestion once but it didn't get much friction saying that you should be able to craft wooden bolts witch don't go as far then steal bolts.

Rare Collectable books - Realistic alternative to class system?

I really like this idea com paired to perks or what ever, I think this would be easier to implement with Arma2, plus it's a little different then what all the other games. through I don't think they should be rare. The books should resemble food/water, you read it and then it goes away. if it didn't it would take up much needed inventory space. Also, to make it more streamline: the book tittle "Mechanics and you!" could be read once, disappears, and you learn how to repair a car, then if you find it again, you read it and it teaches you how to repair Helicopters and so on and so forth. Same with electricity. 1st time you read the book. you learn how to do single town generators. 2nd time, you learn how to fix power plants -
