  1. Big con-traversal motion rocket made a while back was removing the Makarov at the start. Curious after the time that has pass to test this feature out, should it be stay like this? I'm pretty indifferent towards rather it's in or out and I don't really play with out gear so i haven't really experience it haha... I do want to know what the community thinks now that time has passed. Was it the right thing to do?

Disclaimer. - For those who have read this already, it use to be "The Vaccine for Shoot one sight tactics is teamwork" But i'm rewording cause it's not really about shoot on sight tactics, though it is a factor. - Every thing here should be optional. I'm not forcing you to play a certain way/feel a certain way - This is not a "hard" suggestion. It is more of a idea, a point of view that I personally suggest the game should go towards. It is a endorsement for a way of thinking. - If you have a hard suggestion that promotes team work and doesn't force you to do anything. Post it and I'll add it to the main post. __________________________________________________________ The main point of this is group play. I also think this will ease up on aimlessly killing people. I was watching people post idea's like: A) Players run towns http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6976 B) Humans are built for Information exchange - solution to Excessive PKing http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6986 C) Player Revival http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=706&highlight=defibrillator and my posts: D) Power Plants, electric grid, and Generators V 1.5 http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=6791 E) More Items that take up the backpack slot. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10471 I suggest you read these, I will not be going in great detail about any of these post specifically. If there where more Team based objectives, also taking away side/global/command/group chat, adding more things to nudge people towards socializing face to face instead of being a hermit. talking to someone miles away and shooting on sight cause they are scared to loose anything. The players will be giving more incentive to pull out of these tactics because of a slight push for group play. Giving at the start of the game you will be dealing with 50+/- other players who don't belong to a group so then there will be 50 lone wolfs who can't communicate, people will be compiled to find each other. It's only human nature to socialize But as the game progresses, 50 players will unite in small groups to have better survivability, those groups will shrink or gain in size... ending up with 1-3 huge groups, a couple small groups, and some lone wolfs. The huge groups will be attempting to seize very powerful elements that are in-play i.e. Power plants, Towns that spec in certain type of loot. etc. If they abuse these powerful elements, smaller groups will unite to over throw them. Maybe the Power plant fraction aren't doing the job so the Town Fraction tries to take the power plant from them to get a more efficient power source then generators or maybe the town that is occupied has meds, and that's what the power plant fraction needs. -Towns will have supplies and a low level power supply. (See Power Plants, electric grid, and Generators V 1.5) -Power plants will have control over the lights in half of the map and have no supplies but are located near Chenera and Elektra (two really hostile towns) Brings the game in to a whole new dept. Now you may be saying. Once all these societies are built what else will there be. I believe since food/water/sickness/blood-loss is a factor, it will require fractions to keep evolving to adapt to the situation. I personally believe and suggest that if this was the philosophy for this game, it would ease up on shoot on sight tactics, or "death match mentality", The bean wars would ease up. I believe coming to gather as a group, or rebuilding society is a part of survival in a post apocalyptic world. Currently people group up, but kill each other at the same time. The Objectives I suggested will be the glue to hold groups together.

  4. Don't have have to send me to Rocket's statements, I 100% know what he wants for this game, and I for one 100% agrees with him. I feel like Rocket is the Thomas Paine of video games. What he's got cooking here could very well turn in to a "American" Revolution in the gaming community, I feel like gamers are tired of having their hands held by the mechanics, tired of being screwed over with yearly releases of the same game, and tired of producers controlling solid idea's. Though that's just me being a nut case ;) Honestly I hope we do keep it too, I kinda enjoy the feature.( this coming from someone who was strongly against it, I was wrong) though it's annoyances caused by trolls shooting unarmed players may be covered up by a bigger annoyance: hackers. I wouldn't be able to say that for sure.

  6. most of these have been suggested. I know of one that is my suggestion! but i didn't read them cause i've seen almost all of them before roaming around the thread. Please use the search option. Honestly I don't mind how the idea get's out there, as long as it does. Welcome back! been a while since I've seen you here ;)

    It will be inventory based, if you don't want other people playing with your new toy, put it in there. It's suppose to replace the backpack.
  8. these bigger objectives like the one you quoted in your post, as you said require a bigger group and that means those groups would have to be more open volenteers. Those volunteers could be saboteur or w.e leading to so much more dept to the game, specially then it is now. These little uprisings in groups could cause a entire civil war in a server! plus it would pull out so much emotions like Rocket wants, Satisfaction or frustration. forum bonds between players that aren't stuck in TS3. Depth is what this game needs.

    yeah I've stop playing DayZ and contributing to the forums all to gather. I got this feeling the Dev's don't care about the suggestion forums. I never see them post on any of the idea's on here. quite frankly I think Rocket spins more time on Reddit and 4chan then he does on the official forums. I don't half blame him cause most the retards hover around here, but the good idea's get thrown under the carpet too. though I don't know if i'm right, just never see him post on the suggestion thread. and I agree LOG!N. i would rather rebuild actual society rather then build a craze man bomb shelter. Though I do think the feature should be their, but it would have to require some mad physics and dept restrictions (can't go pass the stone/ Dirt falls where unsupported) Maybe there's something he's seeing that we are just not seeing haha
  10. I love reading these threads like this. OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE! I remember the 1st time I killed, it was in self defense so it wasn't that big of a deal, shot him in the leg and then let the zombies eat him. But the 1st time i murdered it still haunts me ;) Killed a guy who was a member of a huge group, at least 30 tents around him but he was the only one at the base. I needed food so I did what needed to be done.
  11. one of my best friends is a bronie, I don't get why there's so much hate towards them. They like a show they are free to watch it. It's not like the Arma2 community has forsaken the DayZ community, even though they have every right to so. You should just be indifferent towards it.

    Standalone maps

    I want the map to have different bio's. kind of like mine-craft. but not as many, just a snow/mountain area to the N and in the south will be foothills/ open plains/ and swamps towns scattered threw out it =p

(This is for Standalone Not the Arma2 mod) there are these unknown types of creaturs: Slenderman, Sashquash, Lockness Monster, Cupacabra, etc. All of these have evidence saying they do very well exist in real life, but it's sketchy. black in white photo's, crazy nut cases eye witness, etc. You can do your own research come to your own conclusion, either way it's irrelevant cause we are not talking about real life. Personally I don't believe in any of them. Only point I am making is that there is sketchy evidence of each of these creatures. I think these creatures should be added to the game. Not in masses though, I'm asking for like a Easter egg creatures. There will only be one of each creature. they will all have their own behavior personalities. mostly agressive. though I think the shashquash should be cautious/natural Zombies are in mass, they've gotten boring and are not scary at all anymore due to how common they are. L4D monsters are silly and will never work in the game. The loop hole are these creatures, and all honesty, the game is lacking in some real substance. I would like to discus rather this idea would fit in the game, and if it would the behavior of these creatures.   14. I understand now haha and I don't expect it to be a urban legend in game. I know videos will be made of them, the game code will be looked in to by people making wiki and what not. etc. I think the fact that they are urban legends in real life, could make way for them being in a game like this. but with out breaking the Realistic persona of the game. I wouldn't mind if you where against it haha I don't even know if i want it. But if I never shoot, I'll always miss =p wanted to get other peoples opinion on it, though the people support it tend to just give beans, and people who are against it comment so i don't know what to think! ;)

    This is the vision I had in mind when I was writing The Teamwork Philosophy(shoot on sight/group play) thought not as detailed. I didn't have the sources that are out there to day then =p I don't really have to make a argument for this, since almost every post I've made leads to an outcome that this thread voices (but i took a break from DayZ so my fame is prob gone too :P ) If anyone does want my opinion it's in that link I'm like the Thomas Paine of this thread ;)

  17. I've asked for a zombie in a ghillie suit before, it didn't pick up much steam. ;) really just trying to add substance to the game. it's really lacking. I can kind of understand why people don't want things like this. I figure more people will be for this if it is these Easter egg animals that could verywell exist in real life. though idk. way i see it, is there is no evidence that zombies exist but we will accept them!?
  18. My sig isn't working anymore. I would like to keep the same basic sig. I want to advertise my threads Airborne virus and Power grid. though idk how to put them in there anymore. The URL are now long as shit, the Sig as been cut down to only "3 lines" dose anyone know a way to shorten the URL or some kind of loop hole so i can fit everything in there.
