Xbox Update 1.02

Hello Survivors!

The long awaited update is out now! 1.02 brings a stylish and super-fast Olga 24 sedan and you can also find two new .308 caliber weapons on Chernarus. The design team added a HUD noise indicator, so now you always know how loud your actions are to the infected. For the night owls among you, there are also some good changes to night lighting!

 

New vehicle - Olga 24

Once a high end, "Executive" level car, the Olga 24 is a four-door Sedan easily able to reach top speeds on the Chernarussian roads.

LAR

The select-fire rifle LAR is used by specialized military forces. It comes with a 20 round magazine, using .308 caliber bullets.

The M70 Tundra is a bolt-action hunting rifle using .308 caliber ammunition.

KNOWN ISSUES

This update is not addressing the issue with some player characters not being saved properly. This is currently still being investigated by our teams. Players affected by this issue will experience character inventory rollbacks - these rollbacks are a preventative measure that we introduced to prevent your characters from being deleted completely, or locked from playing.

  • FPS drops in bigger towns.
  • Individual melee hit registration issues against infected.
  • Going unconscious with an open map can cause freezes.
  • Combination locks from the 1.01 patch can cause issues.
  • Player is not able to move to the right in vicinity (2nd+ line)
  • Crash After Suspending Title And Switching Accounts
  • Favourited and Previously played filters in Server browser aren't working.

  • Changed: The weather simulation has been reworked, improving the network synchronization and lowering its performance cost.
  • Changed: Improved the impact of dynamic lights on surfaces (including the roads)
  • Tweaked: Minor tweaks to the global light config
  • Tweaked: Alpha channel of mud road texture, so it's lit up properly by the dynamic lights
  • Tweaked: Inventory blur intensity is now at half of the previous value
  • Changed: Items located in fireplace cargo will now be burned to 'Ruined' state instead of 'Badly damaged'
  • Tweaked: Damage system for ADA 4x4
  • Tweaked: Central economy (minor adjustments)
  • Changed: Item view bounding box enlargement when attachments are added
  • Changed: Improved behaviour of all light sources (fade in / fade out effects and more)
  • Changed: Light sources slowly fade out when they are low on energy instead of suddenly going completely dark
  • Tweaked: Slightly darkened breath vapour particle to avoid glowing at night
  • Changed: Improved behaviour of smoking chambers on all guns (smoke escapes only while the chamber is open)
  • Tweaked: Decreased intensity of all light sources during daytime
  • Changed: Reflector surface of all light sources now shines properly
  • Tweaked: Chemlight illumination radius increased
  • Changed: Torch is now always transformed to stick when its rags are removed from it
  • Changed: Bear trap damage output is now dynamic (it always causes the victim to start limping, but it won't kill them unless their health is already critical)

  • Changed: Disabled attaching of MRDS to CR75 (MRDS currently has issues on the weapon that need to be dealt with first)

Any fixes to duping? Would rather see this than a list of things we wont be able to get because of the cheaters.

The removal of being able to quick exit a server should almost elimanate it, im going to try to dupe when i get on to see if its fixed... Not that i normally do for all of you with the pitchforks ready... This is for science, will drop all duped gear in the ocean

Also F.Y.I.: US-NY servers don't show up under the Americas filter, currently only under All.

So.... is anyone here having a audio issue where the background/ambient noise just stops playing ? I don't remember if this is intentional or not.

Thought I was coming back. Thought wrong. I already know a bunch of friends have already seen this and went thru the same motions.

This dev team is like a broke down dick. Full of disappointment.

Pretty solid patch notes! Game's run smooth so far.

+ zombies doesn't seem to go through you anymore while fighting them
+ frames seems to be more stable
 

here's the rant tho (I just need to): 

- disappointing to see leaning still being on bumbers and still not being toggleable. not all can fully benefit from the whole function.

- radial menu. - it's even more harder to select your weapon than it was. can you please bring back Y to equip first item in the menu? I thought the ability to move while in menu was meant to be in this patch? it's a pain in the ass to stop completely just to choose your gun. the menu also makes you jump by accident more often now instead of equipping an item since you've increased the amount people need to tilt right stick. people using the long sticks with elite controller are gonna have a hard time.

- zooming and ads. - if you zoom in, pull LT to raise your gun, then release LT you'll go back to zoom which wasn't the case before. don't know if this is intentionally. now you can't cancel the zoom with LT like you could before and you're required two press LB 4 times which is, to be honest, not convenient.

- items not appearing in vicinity if they're on lower bed (military barracks)

- right stick dead zone is still there (5 months now), not as bad tho but noticeable

- bodies still go through walls when they die


Experienced my first crash (dashboard) ever after skinning a guy and entering inventory right after.

The developers, the loot does not spawn, it does not appear at all at all.  solve this problem, or is it worth dumping loot?

They disabled quick logout. To my understanding that should pretty much fix it for now.

Nope. Kids all over the community FB groups are bragging about the new ways they are doing it and how they are spoiling the game for others.

Such a shame. Sounds a good patch from the notes but duping should be such an easy fix. I'll still play, only cos my gaming buddies do but this isn't the game I paid for at all.

spawned and have big issue.every game i play with inverted look (vertical) but now have inverted hot bar menu too.impossible equip anything in quick slot,please back this to normal navigation.invert look only for game,not for menu.thank you

can't equip gun,take me five second like i'm drunk :-)

You're lucky. Most of my friends abandoned ship. Solo player now... if I played that is.

Excited to finish downloading and give the new content a try. Thanks for the hard work team. It is appreciated, even if we don’t always say so.

Pretty disappointed to hear duplicating is still a problem. Here’s to hoping it’s at the top of the priority list for the Xbox team.

Can you please make this "personal  night light" optional in the settings. Forget about traveling at night anymore. I had to change my TV settings just for DayZ before 1.02 and now its 100x worse than it was before. Extremely frustrating that you CANNOT PLAY THE GAME when it becomes night time. Yeah let me turn on a road flare or flashlight to invite everyone within miles of me to come see what I'm doing. A personal night light that no one else can see isn't even realistic in the slightest so anyone about to say "you need a flashlight at night in real life to see" should save it and on top of it go stand outside for 20 minutes in the pitch black and tell me your eyes dont adjust and you can see just fine.

Just a bit of editing there on your quote to point out...but what exactly are you talking about with the invisible night light that you want but isnt realistic?
