What Graphics you have? My system seems to be slower than yours (pc not laptop) but with x64 client I get between 35-65 fps on medium settings. Maybe you should lower settings?

It could also be your system runs too hot and throttles the cpu down?

My specs:

My 32-bit runs great (about 50-90 FPS on average) but I'm getting awful frames on 64-bit, I'd say it's 5-20 FPS in most cases.  So I've defaulted back to 32-bit for now.

Seems in both your cases graphics drivers may be out of date?

I have 21.21.0013.7633

Barnabus has 21.21.0013.6909

Gary has 21.21.0013.7290

Well in that case I don't know. It is strange that for me x64 runs fine but not for you. I am now wondering if the difference is the i7 cpu you both have while I use an old i5, maybe not enough cores get used or something?

Also maybe some graphics settings you use in the game work well with x86 but not x64, here are my settings:

I think I've got it figured out barnabus -  our Intel HD Graphics 4600's simply have a superiority complex.

I went from 8 FPS looking out over debug to 80 FPS running around.   I could've kicked myself when this worked....

Open nVidia Control Panel > Select Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings > Preferred Graphics Processor > *Select High Performance nVidia Processor > Apply > Close

That's it.

Worth mentioning:  Before trying the above I updated both my Intel HD 4600 to 3/23/2016 v 10.18.14.4414 (which was a pain because my 2013 driver insisted that it was updated) and I downloaded and installed nVidia v.376.33 WHQL international and checked off perform clean install.  So the above method might work fine without updating anything.

Also worth mentioning, another change I made:

In the Intel HD 4600 control panel.   (Right click desktop > Graphic Properties)  Under Power set to Maximum Performance.  This will force nVidia to be used for most everything, the secondary display adapter (Intel HD 4600) is basically there just for laptop/low power mode/battery consumption purposes.

HTH
