Cammo military building.

Recommended Posts

Joannathecat a twitch streamer and her party died by a wall glitcher in the military cammo building again - it has been like this for over 3 years now, @Hicks_206 (DayZ)  so I hope two things will happen in the beta patch.

  1. Remove the military cammo building from the game - and design a new building.
  2. Fix the wall glitch and get loots back into the building.

It`s important to do this before beta, because it`s alpha quality garbage all over it and it just annoy other players, because that particular building is located on so many strategic positions on the map.

this problem will be fixed with the coming player controller.

until this time there will no loot spawn in those buildings and noone should go into them.

all fine

The main issue is that there are many so players who still use the building from the 2nd floor, or run nearby it due to the building position on the map.

So it`s easy to say don`t go into the building, because it`s part of the map as long the building exist unfortunately, and wall glitcher will exploit it and have doing so the last 3 years of Dayz SA.

So they should do a bunch of work to delete buildings from the game then once the new controller gets in then put the buildings back. seems like a lot of work for no reason to me. The building can be avoided it has no loot and no value to anyone other than asshats who exploit and the only reason exploiters still use it is because folks can't seem to stay away or avoid the damn building. The map is huge the building is easily avoidable I feel no sympathy for folks that get killed going to places known to be full of killers or cheats.

No tears from me for a dead streamer.  Perhaps they should accumulate some knowledge about the current state of the game, or find a skilled player to escort them...

I used to get killed by hackers and wall glitchers at least once a week. You learn to avoid those areas & public servers after a few times. The streamer will learn just like most people have. Plus, this post is pretty much a waste because once the new player controller is implemented, this shouldn't be a problem anyway. Straight up hackers will probably be an issue all the way to 1.0, but staying on private hives helps.

*New England Accent* "Nobody goes up to the old Brig Building any more.  Used to be a nice place, until some bad eggs moved in way back in '46.  Things just went downhill from there, bunch of deaths started taking place there, people disappearing all the time.  Got so bad even the Government had to step in shut it down.  Some still say it was built on an old burial ground outta reclaimed wood from an asylum where that fire started that was built on top of an even bigger burial ground.  No one goes up there anymore.  Though some people say they can still hear laughing coming from the building, and curious fools keep wandering in, never to be seen again.  Others say there's a Ritual you can do to get back something ya lost and then some, except ya might not like what ya get, since they say 'ole Battleeye watches over the place, just waiting patiently to curse those who break the Taboos."

1. No.
2. The answer to this is the same as it has been since the day we removed the loot. The issue will be addressed when we implement the new player controller.

In the interim: Do not enter the structure. There is no reason to currently.

I very recently fielded a similar question over here:

Fine, how many do you think read the forum who play this game 30% of the total player base, @Hicks_206 (DayZ)? In theory you can be shot in the back from the second floor of that particular cammo building looting tents at NW Airfield. You need to watch out on that particular building when you loot and go into a military barrack south of Vybor, or looting military barracks at Zelenogorsk. Balota Airfield main entrance for instant.. My point is you always need to pay attention to the building since the door is not locked or sealed, because of 2nd floor snipers who may shot at you.

I just not agree how the policy about it to wait this long until new player controller is implemented and just remove loot in the meanwhile. The building should be locked or sealed with a door until it`s open with loot with new player controller. As I mentioned earlier if it`s part of the map, and players will always interact with the building to exploit the wall, or to snipe from the 2nd floor due building strategic position on the map. I don`t understand why this is hard to grasp while other major parts of the map has been changed like Cherno, Elektro, adding new cities, military locations, improved overall the map which is great, but somewhat ignored that particular building to just remove loot is not good enough in my opinion.

I would certainly remove that building until the player controller is implemented and somehow fix that exploit, and fix the item dupe issues in the past with that building.

Finally, I really enjoy Dayz SA, but I`ve a different opinion about that topic - otherwise the dev. team doing an excellent job, and I`m looking forward to beta now.

Mr Moon mentioned this building as well in his last Dayz SA live stream - so it`s not a new topic at all, and when live streamers focus on other games instead - it only generate less interest and income. Anyway I think we`re done debating this topic, a mod. can lock it for sure. ( I don`t mind.)

Once the new player controller comes in, make sure to toss a spare grenade into the second floor of every camo building you pass by. I guarantee you people will still be looking for ways to exploit that building's geometry for months after the issue is solved.

3 years playing DayZ not once I have been killed in this building let alone sniped from in in tents. Sorry mate no one gives a rats ass about streamers misfortune. And devs are not going to rush any fixes permanent or temporary because of them.

@Zod if we like it or not streamers like Lirik is important to generate new interest to Dayz SA - there are so many who have died near that building due to the wall exploit, or based on the important building position on the map in Dayz SA.

It`s one of the most strategic buildings on the Airfield - similar to the ATC (Airfield control tower) at NW. And your view range is greater even though you`re exposed, but you can see guys hidings in trees on the opposite side of the airfield, and great view over most crash sites at the Airfield from the 2nd floor in that building including tents.

That is debatable. In fact, streamers in general are a divisive issue to talk about in DayZ.

Why? Well, I'm going to use Sacriel as an example here since he's the only one I watched more than a smattering of. I don't think he streams much DayZ these days, so hopefully he won't be offended. Let's examine his previous MO:

He logs into the game with his squad (never travels alone, as far as I can tell), frequently (but not always) gets his gear for free either from his squad or their kills or a viewer sacrifices their gear to be nice, and then he spends the majority of the stream hunting and killing people. He never gives anyone a chance to surrender and only lets them run away if they manage to lose him. He has a kill/death ratio on the stream overlay. He fights all day, takes no prisoners, his small group frequently ambushes lone survivors, and he kicks ass at it. He's good. He's got a solid understand of small infantry tactics and he plays smart.

Consider, however, that what he's practising is essentially group KoS banditry, the kind many of us have been railing against for years. And he's practising this KoS style - making it look good, no less - on a popular Twitch channel that's bound to bring in new DayZ customers. I'm sure Bohemia doesn't mind the extra income from new purchases, but I can assure you that there are a lot of us players who did mind the influx of KoS bandits that these Twitch streamers brought into the game. It has been an ongoing contribution to the KoS 'problem' that many of us perceive. Sacriel seems like an alright guy and he's clearly doing the smart thing for his stream (since nobody wants to watch a couple of hours of someone crafting improvised clothes and trying to heal people), but it did have a noticeable and arguably negative impact on the community. Again, consider that the negativity of this is largely opinion. I know I share this opinion with others, but it's still just opinion.

I imagine Lirik is probably less KoS- and more socially-oriented. He's probably a credit to the DayZ community in the sense that I suspect he does not promote KoS as the primary or only playstyle. But some of us still feel a stigma when we talk about streamers at all because of how a lot of streamers fed off the emerging popularity of the DayZ SA for a long time while bringing people into the community who didn't know the history of DayZ and thought the game was literally just looting then killing people. They didn't know any better because all they'd seen was streamers doing the same.

@Rick. I understand that, and most streamers usually KOS, but if u look at FrankieonPC1080 youtube videos. He is sometimes banditry as well, but he usually give another player a chance to survive, which is Dayz all about in this game "survivial theme". And most players should not play this game as a live twitch streamer. because it`s similar play style as Battle Royale games - kill or be killed kind of mentality. But these live streamers get new players into the game, and that is important for the company so they can finish the game Dayz SA with base building and other end game contents after the beta stage. And that`s why I sometimes mention so few thinks about their position when they fire their weapon - instead thinking if I saved my bullet he/she will certainly not aware of me and I will survive another day.

When we can start to build our bases; survivial is more important - you dont like to risk lose your heli due to a firefight at the airfield if u can easily escpae a dangerous situation for instant and fly to another military campsite and get similar loot. If If I see a guy in a sniper position, of course, I will take him out - otherwise he will be a danger for another player who are nearby who might not be that hostile, and such mentality and change your playstyle is also a good challenge, because interaction with another player or held him/her is risky, but part of end game in dayz if u have control over the situation. If I play solo and see 3 guys playing together - u can`t held three guys, so it`s better to remain unseen if u can.

DayZ is in an interesting situation where this is not true: Bohemia sold something like ten million copies in the first week and entirely readjusted their plan to accommodate the sudden influx of money. They've sold more copies since. The money is already there; new blood is not actually required to finish the game or even to finish it properly. The advertising that streamers do by playing this game is not required to keep this game self-sustaining. The extant community and word-of-mouth is enough to support this game for a long time.
