Mini Game Scenarios rather than just Open World PVP

Yes I would never give out your master hive connection info, as you need to transfer items, or possible spawn locations to events between your setup groups.

For instance, setup a camp. Put a bunch of guys in there and 1 hostage. Players need to raid the base to save the hostage, export him to a different location, all while ambushes are setup In the forest.

You really need to hop between your master and public (private) hive to do this. Only your group should do so, that way the events stay clean.

That's what I like about playing on a single connection (no slaves) to the hive. None of all that needs to be done. Single connection makes Ghosting impossible.

Another Mission Scenario on =FactionZ= Friday Night July 1st at 8 pm est

FRIDAY NIGHT IS EVENT NIGHT ON =FactionZ=

Mission Scenario: Clans and Solo players can both compete on the Friday Event Night. A Clan has a carry case that has been stolen from the military installation known as NWAF. The carry case has in it a secret location where a base full of various barrels of loot has been hidden. The information is not on a note, but rather an electronic message unique to the carry case.

The Clan in possession of the case has made their way down to the southern coast near Cherno where there is a large group of Apartments in the Chapaevsk, Novoselky, Dubky area. In one of these groups of Apartments (or the building inside the area) the Clan is hiding and attempting to hold down enemy forces from stealing the carry case with the location information.

INTEL #1: The carry case has a time lock on it that prevents it's being opened until 2 hours after the event begins (Event start times is 8 pm est so the carry case may not be opened until 10 pm est) The information in the carry case is NOT a note. The information will be sent from INTEL electronically at 10pm est to whomever holds the carry case.

Any players or groups attempting to take the carry case should understand that threats may come in many forms. The group in possession of the carry case will be holstile, and other groups / players may also KOS as they attempt to locate the carry case. Consider this venture extremely dangerous!

POST INTEL #2: 10 Minutes after the Base location is provided to the Clan in possession of the carry case, a server wide INTEL message will reveal the GENERAL location of the base, so that PVP may resume in Open World for the remainder of the night! The group or person in possession of the carry case will have to hustle in order to keep the gear / barrels or risk having it taken by hostile forces.

It is official! The Jägers Clan will be hosting this weeks Event Night on =FactionZ=

Time / Day: Friday night, 9 pm est (July 8th)

Mission / Scenario: 

Recently Dr. Goodlove (a Scientist up in the Northern Regions) has discovered a potential cure to the Apocalypse Virus. Word of the discovery has given Survivors hope of being reunited with their loved ones and a potential restoration of life as we once knew it. The research is currently in a phase where a safe testing location is required for the infected.

*INTEL has determined that the Scientist and his work would best be secured on Prison Island, and plans have been put into place to transport The Scientist and his work there. However, a powerful clan of the Apocalypse known as the Jägers have made their own plans for the Scientist and his work. They have captured him and plan to move him to their own secure location on the Southern Coast; where they have unknown plans for the Scientist and his Research. The Jägers destination on the Southern Coast will be revealed on Event Night during the Mission Scenario at some point as other location updates will also be provided on the escort group location thoughout the mission.

The Scientist will be wearing clothing that clearly identifies him as a DR and he should be considered a VIP by all Clans and players and NOT a target. Should he die at any point during the event the Mission Scenario is concluded and "Open World" PVP may begin as the prime objective will be obsolete.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
Prevent the Jägers from escorting Dr. Goodlove to their secure location on the South Central Coast and take him to Prison Island where his work may be continued in the safety of the large prison facility.

Potential Mission outcomes: (How to win)

Note: If a Clan successfully rescues Dr. Goodlove from the Jägers and escorts him to Prison Island they must hold the island with Dr. Goodlove for 40 Minutes. The timer will start the moment he sets foot on the Prison Island and resets if he enters the island and then is taken off the island (is taken into the water back towards mainland). He must remain on the island for 40 continuous minutes to achieve victory.

Note: If the Jägers successfully escort Dr. Goodlove to their Southern Coast location (will be revealed as mission unfolds in game) and keep him there successfully for 40 minutes, they win the Event Night. The timer will start the moment he sets foot in the Jägers Southern Base location and restarts if he enters the Jägers Base and then is taken outside of the building at any point by a clan attempting to take him to Prison Island where he can safely resume his work. He must remain on in the Jägers Base for 40 continuous minutes to achieve victory.

This Mission is an UNTIMED EVENT. The Mission ends when a Clan is successful in securing Dr. Goodlove at the correct Base location or when Dr. Goodlove dies in transport.

Mission Scenario: 
This Event Night is Mission is simple. Battle at NWAF "All Night Long".

There is no barrel or tent to capture, no goal other than kill and don't get killed. Players may run back to the action as often as they like if they are killed.

The hub of action will be anywhere inside the NWAF walls. The winner of the event is the Clan with the most kills inside the NWAF walls and we will post the results the next day on our Facebook community page.

Be sure to wear your clan tags or your kills won't help your clan totals when we do our final kill count for the Event Night.

All weapons may be used, and clans or groups may try to hold any building they like for defense.

Whichever clan brings the most players to the event gets to select where they prefer to begin inside NWAF. We will head off to our selected areas once we take the group photo and see how many people each clan has participating.

All participating clans and players will meet at the ATC at 9 pm est sharp for a quick group event photo and some basic rules via Admin message in game.

If a player collect kills outside the NWAF walls they can contact Irish on steam during the event or in a ts poke and we will not count those kills in the event tally. If players are killed outside the NWAF walls, you can also message Irish and we will make sure not to count those kills as event kills on the final scores.

EVENT NIGHT HAS MOVED TO SATURDAY! July 23rd, 2016 

Saturday will be a purge in Novodmitrovsk (NE on Map near spawn points in Svetlo, has a large City Hall Tower). The Event will simply emphasize individual kill counts and kills will count from all over the map.

We will center the battlefield at Novodmitrovsk as a hub for the PVP. The player with the most kills between 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm est wins the event, regardless if he plays with a clan, group, or solo.

Saturday Event Night at 9 pm est. Purge at Novo, the player with the most kills wins the event.

Hey mike, have you talked to the HiHB server? misfits might be interested in scrims back and forth with you guys.

Never know, maybe one day we might have open world war 3 :)

So I have a couple ideas for some "minigame" events, but they all involve a modicum of stability. To seamlessly implement them you would require one massively powerful clan to run security and setup, if admins can facilitate this then that would work.

Idea #1 The Race track:

At some place like NEAF tents, barrels, torches, fires, tires, (whatever works) can be used to outline a race track. Vehicles can be provided or players must bring their own, and races can be held for various prizes and the benefit of spectators.

Idea #2 Marksmanship contest:

Similarily requiring security of some sort, a social event can be held with sniping contests, pistol contests, and bow/arrow contests for various prizes and the benefit of spectators.

Idea #3 Stanford Island Prison Experiment

Players wishing to participate come to an appropriate location, are blindfolded/head-bagged, stripped naked, and brought to the prison island (maybe they need to get there on their own). Once in captivity they are sorted into one of two groups, guards and prisoners, and are placed in cells/given appropriate clothes and placed in guard rooms with thew appropriate equipment and uniforms. The guards are directed to run an efficient prison. Their pension plan (their reward) will be reduced for expenses incurred to the prison, which includes loss of prisoner or guard life. The prisoners are not offered any award or given any direction beyond : you are a prisoner.

Another recent idea for a pvp scenario is a prison break with the escaped "convicts" wearing the new Prison Uniforms and they are attempting to flee from one part of the map to another where they have some help in a fortified location. The group of escaped convicts could be a large group and they may flee together or individually, but they must keep their Prison clothes on so hunters can easily identify them for hunting purposes. If they can reach the final desination alive, they win their freedom (and that nights competition). 

Between battling Convicts and potentially hunters battling hunters, it could be a bloody event indeed!

i think this will bring a new experience to the dayz gameplay. can u imagine what feelings this will contain when another  survivor cross your plans.

Oh yeah, this is a good idea for sure. It would be awesome if you picked up a 2 way radio, plugged in a battery and got a random distress call. Anyone else with a radio would get the same thing. These are good suggestions and would only add to the game.

missions coming up with mod support at the latest. I dont know if BI will implement missions but they should. the first reason is that there must be a higher goal then just looting and pvping. and i am sure if u are at that point where u have everything then missions will definitely bring more life in ur game and those of the whole chernarus server population.

we are actually planning MP missions on our private Dayz server over the holidayz. so watch out for announcements in the forum one of these days.

We plan on offering a wide variety of PVE, PVP, and PVE and PVP types of missions on =FactionZ= when modding comes in, including some of which will require a group to defend a base.

For those interested in a Mission based game night in DayZ, we are thinknig about holding an event soon on a server TBD. We are planning on doing the Prison break scenario:

I'd like to see a mod that gives me a reason to play once I have all the tools I need to survive. 

I know most people hated them.. but the NPC outposts were always fun to attack and raid in the various older dayz mods. Im not asking for that per say.. but some idea, where I have an "entertaining" thing to do, on a regular basis other than survive and pvp. 

 

On that note, I love some of the ideas that have been brought up so far in this section. Great post OP.

The =UN= Clan hosted this event which took stage on the South western portion of the map, ranging from Kamorovo to Zeleno to NWAF. The event once again packed the server but it also had a que of 20 players trying to get in on the action. We are looking forward to when the servers can host 75/80. More events coming soon. Keep an eye on the thread for details and please keep posting any ideas you have for events!

The triggering can be a critical element.  Picking up a note can also be used as a trigger to start a mission.  Location triggers I prefer to use for events.  Incoming AI radio chatter, once  you find a radio can lead you to locations where the notes can be found to start the missions.  With the editor and scripting capacity we should see some good ideas for a true sandbox.

IT'S TIME FOR AN RP EVENT! Medieval Times Event Night (Complete with Gladiator duels) - Helms, Swords, Spears, Mace, etc as well as a Bow and Arrow Competition, Hunting Competition, Campfires, Fortune Telling, and other Social events all inside the castle walls at Fort Eden. No Weapons (guns of any type) will be allowed into the event, only Spears, Knives, Sticks, Maces, Crossbows and Bolts, Bow and Arrows, and Swords! We will provide Helms for the competitions but you may bring your own as well (The Trade Center will also be trading for them if you would like to leave with weapons and ammo). Participating Players are asked to arrive with no guns at the Archway entrance of Fort Eden (past the bridges). The event will be guarded around the Castle but be careful during travel as Bandits are sure to be lurking! Best Attire: Leather Vests, Leather Shirts, Leather Pants, Helms or Leather hats, etc SUNDAY 7pm est

Thanks for the comments. I love this thread as well. As for NPC's with mods we plan on using NPC Guards at our Trade Center if our population drops too low during early AM in the USA. Hopefully we'll have a solid population from Europe as we are making some moves to make that happen. NPC's will definitely be a part of many of the solo and in group missions we are going to create using mods. Some were listed here previously and on the Base building thread. There are some really big possibilities for Base building missions such as "survive the large Zombie horde" at your base, etc.
