Superb work.  The spoiler previews dont work for me from the cooking section onwards.

Without knowing how the forum software works, I would venture a guess that it only previews a certain number of tweets per page or per post. The whole post is formatted identically, so I can only guess that something like that is going on. Sorry, you'll have to click the link  :(

Thats perfectly fine.  Happy to click links.  A little extra work for all this tasty info is well worth it.  I gave up trying to track the answers in my twitter feed :)

According to the majority of responses,we seem to have a long wait ahead of us.

  • Food recipes are a maybe
  • Further map expansion plans is out of the question
  • Only 75 player capacity per server
  • 0.56 is probably planned for first week of May (maybe)
  • Another vehicle addition other than the V3S is planned for 0.57+
  • Renderer test is comming late May (only internally)
  • Player custumization is a No (we kinda knew that but i held hoping...)
  • Vehicle repair and inventory systems are tied to the new "inventory matrix" (propably 1-2 months)
  • Multithreading is on standby awaiting new tech

 

On the brightside there were a couple of long awaited features confirmed,like Craftable tents and Electricity.

 

Personally i think that tech is the major restraining factor.

It's a vital requirement of great importance to features like multithreading support or even additional performance,essentilal for increasing zombie count.

The transition period to newer modules has only just begun and from the looks of it,seems like it's gonna be a long one...

Given that a lot of things are waiting on a new core system to be implemented (i.e. player controller, inventory matrix, renderer), I think we'll see a lot of good visible progress in a very short period of time... but it will seem like we waited forever for it ;)

Good news, bit sadden on the customization answer as I would like some improvements there with more clothes variety so we all don't look the same after a visit to a military base.

Thanks, ah ok, i thought it meant something more in terms of a more hardcore survival experience(scarcity, etc.). But it heads in the direction of a private hive/perma death theme. Die and you can't respawn for 12 hours? Not bad, puts a lot of weight on your shoulders/decisions. I like it.

 

But i guess if i say i would play on a private server/first person only/day-night cycle+cold weather it would look like this -> 1/50 ;)

 

but i like the idea

Yeah, liked the hardcore mode comment, megaphones, and dismemberment of infected.

Also, he didn't say only 75 player per server, said it was a design choice 75-125, is how I took it.

That's how I took it as well. They've previously said they want a higher capacity (remember, 40 used to be the max) and his comments don't go against that in my opinion. I think what he was really trying to say was, "We'll see what performance looks like and set a limit from there." I imagine that server admins (or GSPs) will eventually have more control over that as well.

I've read all the Q&As once again and for me, this is the most disappointed part:

 

Q: Do you think more radical weather effects like snow, or maybe even a simulation of seasons will be possible in DayZ's future?

Does that really means we will never see snow, hail etc? No snowtexture layers for trees, buildings, streets, etc.? That would be really sad...

That's correct. They've stated before that it's just too much work to be worth it. I'm sure the modding community will rectify that ;)

Really? It is not worth it? A survival game without visual weather effects?

We get hundreds of guns with many different calibers and an authentic ballistic model, but no weather system?

This must be a dream? Am I in the right forums?

Sorry for this words, but I can't believe it.

I dreamed of a Chernarus+ with leafless trees and bushes, in a white Winter Wonderland or a beautiful summer with green trees and fresh fruits all over the place.

:(

+1 for modtools  :)  but it's not the same.

Reading throught this Q&A I can only think: I had a lot of fun playing DayZ (600+ hours in 2014) but the game engine limitations are so fucking disappointing.
