Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557

Im gonna go ahead and ask a question that might be a little dumb:

If i rollback my version to stable, will i have to download update again to play experimental, or does it save both versions?

(i only have 100gb/month)

 

From what I've read, it seems that if you do go back to live/stable, there will be another DL.. but I think it was pretty small... 108MB or something if memory serves.

Hi :-)

I could play on 2 Servers (one german, one swedish), both hardcore.
I`ve met a few other survivors and the most of them are "friendly".

But two guys tried to axe me on the waterpumps but i was too smart, so i could easily spot them when they ran towards me with their fireaxe.
After we ran a few metres, i speak to the guy that i`m faster than him (because of fist up and he has a weapon in his hands) and i will kill him the next time i see him.

So he got lost and i could explore the new, really beautiful city in the north of chernorus.
I fell in love with the new city. :-)

looks really nice! actually a bit different from the other towns.

Hope that only applies to unconscious players. I mean, If I fill a player with lead, and revive him.. yeah..

Found several spraypaints (green) and was looking for a mosin... but I just got shot, didnt see this guy even with gamma/brithness on high... dunno how this guy managed to follow/shoot on me for 3 minutes :o

Any chance on a couple oceana servers dean? All the US, DE and SE are either full or connection failed, please add some oceana servers dean so us New Zealanders and Aussies can play.

please share some experiences. i wanna know if it's worth hammering those servers later on before the official update.

yeah you pretty much starve to death, all locations have been looted to death and the complete darkness doesn't much help either ;). i found a hacksaw tho. but i think melee is pretty much broken with it. noticed very very slight rubber-banding from time to time. but maybe due to stress on servers. same goes for whole responsiveness of controls

You aren't supposed to be able to find your corpse every time lol, I'm glad they made it that short because I wont be able to retrieve all my gear in time thus extending my play time.

Reclaiming your own body to get your gear back is NOT very good for the game. In the mod it  made things too easy for experienced players. It confuses the beginners, and it's unfair to them. It's classic meta-gaming. For this reason 10 mins is OK. It's too bad for you (dead) buddy but it's a tough game.

 

BUT - finding someone's body by chance is always a good part of the game. It's interesting and useful and adds a lot to the atmosphere - was the body shot, enemies still around? Did he die of something else? Does he have useful gear (even 1 bandage..?). Finding a body is great.

 

Would it be too difficult to put a 10 minute bar on reclaiming your OWN body/gear, but leaving the body quite a while for anyone else to find? - or maybe you yourself just CANT get your own gear back at all from your own body - for you it's forbidden, you blew it, but it stays there for anyone else, for quite a while?

 

Im saying, when you're dead you CANT get your own stuff back, but anyone else can have it, friend foe or stranger. Does that make good sense for the gameplay?

persistent items are currently a work in progress, so they are being actively worked on. The task is not complicated so we expect that resolved soon. Note this would include tents, and backpacks.

 

So we'll be able to hide both backpacks and tents for storing items?

I have a problem, ive selected the Opt for Beta thing and restarted Steam, but when i open DayZ and go on a server, i still have all my stuff and the usual servers are there, any help please? Would be much appreciated, and you get beans!
