  1. SOME INFORMATION Hello, this is my first post on these forums. I'm gonna be honest with you, I made my account hoping for some help from the community. I'm a big fan of survival games in general, so of course I was very excited for the release of DayZ. I bought it as soon as it came out and managed to play it for 10 hours (with about 10 fps at all times) but then I started getting FPS drops at the main menu. I had no choice but to uninstall it and after that I didn't play it for 2 years and instead I played other games. But last weekend I got a chance to play it again on my brother's computer which is significantly better than my own. I realised that I loved the game, so I redownloaded it on my own computer, but of course it was unplayable. So therefore I want a really good PC that can handle DayZ at as high as possible settings, with 60 fps or higher. Definiately not under 50. I am also interested in ARMA 3 amongst other games (and upcoming games) so I'd like the computer to be able to hande those too (on as good as possible settings). I barely know anything about specs and such so I'd appreciate if you included the price tag and their performance. I live in Sweden, if that's important to know. Price? Try to keep it within a reasonable price range. I can't afford a computer that goes for like €3,000 ($3,395), that's simply not possible at the current state. I am willing to sacrifice some performance if it means I'll get a better price. I am thinking about €1,500 ($1,700) - €1,700 ($1,925) but I might be able to pay up to €2,000 ($2,265), but anything above is gonna be tough. I appreciate any help I can get! Thanks :)
  2. Hello, various people. There are a LOT of people wanting to know if their computers are good enough to run DayZ, which is an understandable enough concern when it comes to spending real money on a product you aren't sure will work as intended. Thusly I bring to you game-debate.com's system minimum/recommended comparison features. http://www.game-debate.com/can-I-run/?EA Literally click that link, choose any EA game, and then you'll be at a screen showing the box art, a short synopsis, the required/recommended PC specs, and (finally) a 2-option "Is a laptop?" and 2 scroll menus, one for GPU and one for CPU. Put in your GPU/CPU (if you aren't sure, type in "System" in the start menu and hit enter) and follow along. Eventually it'll say "This is recommended CPU/etc" Rating (1-10) "This is your CPU/etc" Rating (1-10) At the top-right there's a search bar. Type in "ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead," hit search, and put in your PC specs as asked. This is an example of what it looks like REQUIREMENTS Arma II: Operation Arrowhead System Requirements INTEL CPUAMD CPUNvidia GPUAMD GPURAMOSDirect XHDD SpaceGD VerdictMinimum RequirementsPentium D 830 3.0GHzAthlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+92% GeForce 7800 GSRadeon X1800 Series 256MB89% 1 GBWin Xp 32DX 97 GBFPSGD Adjusted RequirementsCore 2 Duo E7400 2.80GHzAthlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+80% GeForce 8800 GTRadeon HD 485067% 2 GBWin Xp 32DX 97 GBFPS Information I entered Edit rig CPU: Core i7-4700MQ 4-Core 2.4GHzGFX: GeForce GTX 770MRAM: 8GBHDD: No hard drive Premium Member - Game Resolution AnalysisWidth Height800 6001024 7681366 7681280 10241600 9001600 12001920 10241920 12002560 1600
  3. A lot of posts have been complaining about the price for an alpha game. Saying "Why are we paying to help you make a game" Well it's true you are paying to help make a game, and that's what a lot of players (Including myself) are willing to do. Because we care about the game. We want to see it continue to grow and become better. Having actual money come in gives rocket and his team more breathing room, it shows that what they are doing is actually making money and going to continue to make money. The game Star Citizen is a perfect example. The promise of a game has garnered over 34 million dollars. Do you think people are actually that excited to buy ships they can earn in game for free. No they are supporting the game development. I gave Chris Roberts $300 dollars to help with that game, because I want to support the game. So if you bought the Early Access Alpha because you wanted to play a game, you are wrong. By clicking buy you agreed to help Rocket make his game, and make it a good one. So thank you to all the people who knew why they were buying this Alpha I'm glad we can continue to improve this game together. Everyone else, I'm sorry you didn't read properly before buying but it's your own fault. You're stuck now, might as well help improve things instead of complaining constantly on the forums. See you at the coast. -- Aldy
  4. My price range is between $100-$150. I don't want one that'll make me sound like a 9 year old who bought his from Kmart for $15. I'm running into too many situations where I need to hold people up, and to trick people into thinking I'm Frankie. I was looking at some $90 Turtle Beaches at JB-HIFI. Are they good quality? Thanks!
  5. I don't know how many of you guys know about this already but theres this reddit page I stumbled upon, "Video Game Deals," and it has completely changed the way I buy my digital PC games. It keeps you up to date on all the latest sales on PC downloads (and consoles too) of different sites. This way you can compare and choose which one has the best deal at that moment. You'd be surprised how many games on Steam's holiday sale can be bought for a lower price (as a Steam code) on sites like Amazon, or GreenManGaming, for example I recently bought: Dark Souls $15.00 on Amazon > $20.00 on Steam XCOM: Enemy Unkown for $17.50 at GMG > $25.00 on Amazon > ~$33.00 on Steam Civ V Gods and Kings for $3.15! at GMG > $7+ anywhere else (when on sale) Be aware that most of these deals usually only last one day, which is why I found the convinience of this method (just checking on the reddit page) a great money saver. Hope this little strategy helps some of you guys out as much as it did me!
  6. Basically I've just finished building a system (on a tight budget) for a friend so he can start playing DayZ, I have a spare copy of Arma II for him but he still needs Operation Arrowhead so I would like to know if anyone knows of a place that beats everyone else on price for this, he has already spent more than he wished to on getting the system running so any help would be kindly accepted.
