  1. Dear all, I play on an Asus ROG G750JM, and it has two video cards, an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M. Connected in HDMI there is a secondary monitor, a BENQ which works well (can stand 1080p with any other game). Intel Driver version is, Geforce one is the latest one. the issue is, when running Dayz 0.60 exp, if I run it on my laptop screen, all is fine (normal 1080p). If I run it on my bigger screen, (I bought that for dayz mostly anyway), the screen turns into 1080i, flickering and aching my eyes. The monitor itself can sustain 1080p very well, but with only dayz this happens. Can you help/fix?
  2. just a short fyi. As an AMD user I was rather curious when i heard about ICP at first and went on to use it on my computer not fully aware of all the implications it would come with. You can basically define a folder-structure where this tool will search for intel compiled code and then offer a fix (and backup) to remove the "code obstacles" which intel deliberately integrated to impede non-intel cpus. Well, in principle, I had no issues until i fired DayZ up again: 0029526: game does not start: "blocked loading of file C:\Windows\SysWOW64\aticfx32.dll" (Intel Compiler Patcher interfers with game) The interesting thing is, it had no trouble with altered files in my steam folder, however, what happens here is that Battleye seems to scan dll files within your windows directories as well resulting in errors as the one above. For example, my SysWOW64 folder had about 18-22 altered files from which I had roughly 8-11 to revert to their original state. The game simply won't start at all. So just in case to you AMD users out there, if you use ICP, use it wisely. Me, I have no idea why i really used it in the first place. So just a quick heads-up Edit: I also mailed BE questioning what it would mean for me as a user and if that issue could potentially produce false-positives on their side; still waiting for an answer here.
  3. CPU issue / PC unstable

Hey guys Quite a few questions buried in this one, sorry. Been having problems: Recently started getting semi-frequent infinite loops with sound and screen freeze during more gfx intensive games like dayz / eagle dynamics sims. The PC would lock up and be unresponsive to recovery like ALT/CTRL/DEL or alt/tab etc. Hard restart was required. Got a BSOD once or twice, my display even failed while browsing at one point, screen said 'no display' then went to black (green light to orange) and then wouldn't recover. Sound was heard but screen wouldn't display. I originally suspected GFX / mobo / CPU but also wasn't sure about my peripheral Saitek x52pro. Unlplugged from USB and works fine. Did a memory check, no issues. Ran benchmark 3d test, no issues (with reasonably good FPS and no stutter / sound tearing). Ran Core Temp 1.0 and i'm hitting ~45C idle, and ~85C on a relatively high load. Is this normal kind of temps? Anyone with a similar / newer intel card got any feedback? I've checked intel's specifications but they're all around 45-65C passive/active temp. Other posts i've seen outside this site suggest that 75C isn't non-normal. It was originally up at around 105 before I took out the CPU fan, gave it a good blow (it was clogged AF) and then air canistered the mobo and GPU fans/heat sinks. That seemed to have shaved 20 off. I know 105 is up at operating limit, so that was a bad sign. Also, when taking the CPU fan off (because i felt blowing dust all over the mobo / socket would be counterproductive too) do you need to reset the thermal paste, or is this more for applying after-market fans and things? How many times can you take the CPU fan off without needing to reapply thermal paste? PC is around 2 years old, as per signature: GPU GTX 670 2GB CPU intel core4 i3770k @ 3.5GHz RAM 16GB DDR3 Ram corsair dual-channel (2x8GB) Mobo AS Rock Z77 extreme 6 PSU 850W corsair something or other. can post hd/ssd issues too, but i have no issue reading or writing. Like i kinda said, after giving it a blow its gotten better and haven't had a crash yet. Going to check bios settings and see if i can up my fan speeds on the case etc... but yeah, standard kind of stuff? And i don't OC.
  4. Intel server

Hi, How many dayz servers can i host on a e3-1240v2 32gb ram server? How many slots in total too? Thank you. :)
  5. Dayz Stats HELP PLEASE!

Hey Guys I've just got Dayz but after looking at system i saw that i had the right stats to run it. but when i've downloaded it and start to try playinging it it was so laggy and the ground was flikkering a lot. can anybody help with why i'm having this problem? Here is my Laptop stats: Intel i5-2450M quad core 2.50GHz 6 GB RAM Windows 7 home premium 64 bit Radeon HD 7670M 245 GB free space. Regards Fozz
  6. Hello guys, Im planning to buy a new cpu so Im really confuse at what should buy. Is there any people in here who use 9590? Im just curious about FPS situation. Thank your for advices already..
  7. Will DayZ SA use HT on Intel-CPUs (I7/Xeon) in the future? Or is there no chance to implement that because of the engine? - thx :-)
  8. DayZ. AMD vs INTEL

So, I've had some problems with FPS in DayZ. Here are some of my findings. I played with my AMD setup first. Then ripped the computer apart and put it back together with some old Intel parts I had laying around. AMD SETUPSSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA/600 TLCCPU: AMD FX-8350 8 4.0GHz Black EditionRAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) CL9 1866MHz VENGEANCE PROGFX: [!Crossfire!] Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB (Hawaii PRO)PSU: Corsair RM 850W 80+ GoldCPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC14CSMotherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 INTEL SETUPSSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB SSD SATA/600 TLCCPU: INTEL CORE I5 3570K 3.4GHZRAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) CL9 1866MHz VENGEANCE PROGFX: [!Crossfire!] Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB (Hawaii PRO)PSU: Corsair RM 850W 80+ GoldCPU Cooler: StockMotherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-DS3H Z77 _____________________________________________________ AMD SETUP FPS-----------------------Video setting Custom:57 FPS (Stock clock. 4.0 Ghz with Turbo Boost 4.2 Ghz)61 FPS (Overclocked 4.4 Ghz with no Turbo Boost)63 FPS (Overclocked 4.6 Ghz with no Turbo Boost) Very Low: 60 FPS (Stock clock)Low: 40 FPS (Stock clock)Normal: -- FPS (Black Screen)High: 30 FPS (Stock clock)Very High: 25 FPS (Stock clock) INTEL SETUP FPS------------------------Custom: 68 FPS (Stock clock)Very Low: 94 FPS (Stock clock)Low: 63 FPS (Stock clock)Normal: 50 FPS (Stock clock)High: 35 FPS (Stock clock)Very High: 30 FPS (Stock clock) __________________________________________________ All settings is tested in 2560x1440 resolution.,So "Low" means low settings in DayZ with resolution changed to 2560x1440.Custom are the settings I feel good about. That I would like too use. Basically Low settings with Very High texture quality and some other crap. Both FPS test are made from sitting in the forest looking at the same-ish view. I was not in the exact same position but tried my best too make it fair. Anyway, just wanted too share my resaults if anyone was thinking about buying a AMD CPU for playing DayZ. Oh, and If any of the setups had an unfair advantage it would be the AMD setup. wich the OS was installed on and all the latest chipset drivers and what not installed. Then just replaced motherboard and CPU and still the Intel i5 whooped the AMDs ass with no change in OS or drivers. Conclusion:The Intel i5 made the game fun so much smoother. The FX-8350 would go down to 15-19 FPS in cities. But with the Intel i5 FPS does not drop far that low. It will keep the FPS higher in woods and cities. Overall the gameplay is much more fluid with the Intel i5.
  9. Hi There! Now before you guys say that macs are bad believe me i know they are the most irritating machines on the planet - that is why it is unfortunate that i have to own one! (unexpected bday present) I prefer pc and recognise that day z cannot be played on a mac! However i was wondering is it possible to bootcamp windows 7 onto my mac pro and play it like that (basically installing windows on my mac) These are the minimum required specs: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1 Intel Dual-Core 2.4 Ghz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz Memory 2GB Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD 3830 or Intel Graphics 4000 with 512MB Vram My specs are pretty average tho: Mac OSX Mavericks 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i5 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 3000 384mb Do you think considering these specs that if i am running windows it would be possible to play day z? I am aware however that my Intel graphics card is below the minimum - do you think i could get away with it? Thanks guys!
  10. minimum requirements

Not sure if I posted in the right spot but anyways, the minimum requirements state that an intel HD 4000 is listed. Could the game actually run on it. Is it optimized that well? Your thoughts?
  11. CPUs and DayZ.

 A: You're in the need of a new processor. The other threads are awful as people suggest the top of the line gear and always go top i5 or top i7s when that isn't always needed. Maybe you have a budget! Maybe you can afford some high end gear, but fear it doesn't works well with DayZ... Here's a good place to ask for help! B) B: You're looking to recommend CPUs. -AMD or Intel is fine -Post any benchmarks for DayZ multiplayer, along with settings. -Don't be a fan boy. People want hard facts that have information with substance, none of that "AMD sucks, the i7 3770k is the only processor you can get" stuff seen everywhere else. **FOR ANYONE NEEDING INFO FOR SETTINGS/HARDWARE, SEE SECOND POST! **FOR THOSE WHO OWN THE CPU THEY RECOMMEND, SEE SECOND POST! **This is for the community! Please rate this with :beans: that way more people are enlightened by a well thought out thread, not some shady guy endorsed by Intel trying to sell you their processors (that just an example, I love Intel and AMD in different ways). Please follow my guidelines for posting to help make this easier for me to compile! Post correctly, or very well, you'll get some :beans: from me... or look like :emptycan: <_<. Thanks for the support! I'm happy with my build! -Happy posting!!!
  12. i have a g580 that im most likely going to upgrade to an i5. i can run planetside 2 fine on low/very low settings
  13. 14. Editable/Markable Maps

Didn't find much on this topic or maps in general. Either that or it's just that no one uses tags properly. I've read about Rocket wanting to do a journal type feature. Some of it may be auto logged while it can also be used for you to take notes and such maybe. Suggestion My idea is more for the ability to draw and mark up a map you find of the region. This can be carried with you or kept at your base somewhere. Basically this would be used as a type of intel. What it offers for gameplay While Alive -You can mark up small towns of interest that you ran into. Maybe it was over run with zombies and you want to come back to it later. You can mark that point with a pencil/marker. (You'd need to find that item as well.) -You've run into a place which you believe to be a player base. You may want to mark that as well for various intentions. (raid, ambush, scouting mission to see if they're friendly) -Found a location (town, cabin, military secret base, player base) that is not depicted on the map already. You might want to put in this location. -You've found loot at specific locations, you may want to take note of that on your map just in case you need it in the future or you have no inventory space and have to come back for it later. -You have stashes in various locations to minimize loss. Hiding all stuff in a single location is pretty risky. If a player finds it he can wipe you clean. You can mark these location on maps. -Maybe certain color dots you make on the map correspond to exact coordinates you keep on your journal. Maybe with more information about the location. After Death The other part where this would come into play besides for your own reference while alive, is after death. If another player picks this up off your body, well they can pick of valuable intel on places of interest. Maybe they find out that you have their base marked and have been watching them. etc. etc.
  15. Hi devs, hi community ! First of all, this game (&mod) is a great one, but it can be really frustrating sometimes. There is much complaining about players being shot by other players, but this is shurly one of the interesting aspects of the game. On the other hand it is far too easy being a bandit, not even that: it is also a goal worth achieving (meaning, you get a cool skin and and a lot of loot from your victims). One of the main "quests" in this game is to kill bandits. But it is hard to get a sniper before he gets you (mostly it is luck). So there should be something that makes it harder for being a bad guy, and giving the survivors and especially heroes some advantage over them. I suggest something like an "organistation" that helps out with inteligence information about known Bandits. Being more precise: - getting information should require some communication device (may be found first) - u may get randomly some coordinates of bandits near to u: - if u are a bandit you won't get information - the probability for the information being useful increases with your own humanity - the probability for the info being useful may increasy with the "badness" of the bandit the info refers to I think something like that would prevent the "first shoot the talk" behaviour and increases the chance of creating more (non-premade) teams. Also it may be also much more fun being a bandit, cause now u might be even the one being hunted and it might be much more challanging at last (meaning: not just laying around, sniping guys for hours and making a youtube video from your "godlike" abitlies). I think all sides (the good, the bad and even the ugly) would gain benefit from that. Thank in advance for you comments.
  16. Hi guys, I've just done a test to see if my laptop would support DAYZ and ARMA. After looking the Results it said that my computer wouldn't run it however it said everything is okay. I can run games like GTR Evolution at max graphics smoothly with it and was just wondering if anyone could help? Apparently the weakness is the graphics card which is an INTEL HD card. I'm not too bothered about quality or anything, I would happily run it at minimum everything as long as it runs kinda smooth when playing with a couple of mates! Thank You poslamas Sam
