  1. Hey! It always happens when getting in firefight in 0.63 experimental; i get massive FPS drops when someone starts to shoot at me and i die because my whole screen freezes. Yes I got pretty bad pc with bad specs but this game ran well in 0.62. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Specs: GTX 960 Driver Version: 397.31 (I will install new version soon) Intel Core i5-6400 @ CPU 2.70Hz 7,94 GB RAM 1920 x 1080, 1440 Hz - AOC Monitor ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Normally I have like 70-100 FPS when running on the fields but i get fps drops there too. But yes is there any solution for fixing this gunfight lag? Not wishing to die in Tisy where i just got myself yesterday. Also I play with low settings and got some settings disabled. Help would be needed, thanks. edit: I died yesterday at NWAF to a player who i certainly would have killed first without the stupid fps drop..

Just a concern..But not new (Don’t post if you don’t wanna read a small book’s worth of text :P) Way back when the kick starter happened it was exciting, Loved the Dayz mod, work on a mod of the mod myself (the kids backpacks where added to dayz standalone shortly after I posted a screen shot from my mod and the importance of low level pack…was also holding a sword :P). I felt involved and the game was going in a good direction. Then dean left and things seem to change, the worry set in and I voiced it… is Dayz going to be something special or just another FPS. Also predicted Sony would rip of the idea. The game kept focusing on FPS and adding some side function survival stuff (a good amount of it, but still on the side)… I said that people playing if for the FPS would jump ship as soon as another, better FPS was on the market >< Then the battle royals came along and days became a below par FPS with survival. This is the issue, The FPS aspect and the survival are not integrated, and worried they will not be. You will have 2 games in one, doing neither very well, just to get the game out? Or maybe it’s the vision of the game? If that’s true, I’m sure it will be enjoyed by people after a quick shoots, and not saying there is anything wrong with that, just hoped Dayz would be ‘ground braking’. After a long brake I got into 0.63 and looks good, and I know there is more to come but… with what is there, it’s still a FPS or Survival game, 2 in one. I will try to explain: -If you want a quick blast with friend, it does that, not very well compared to other game (From what I have watched). You can play is as a FPS with some zombies that get in the way (not part of the goal, they give nothing to the FPS as entertainment, they want to fight other players) -If you want to role-play/pretend you’re surviving in a post apocalypse world, with reasonable expectations, you get the basics and bug out. You don’t go after big guns, that’s where the FPS just camp. You do get the tools you need and try to make sustainable food and clean water (super easy once you know how and no challenges left*1). -This is what we have as 2 games in one… If you FPS, you not setting up camps and farming (Don’t need too), if you’re trying to survive for weeks, there is zero reason to go into most areas once you have an axe, a knife and, and some way to make clean water. (Role-players seem to hate PvP/FPSer and PvPers think role players need to get over it :P) -2 Conflicting types of game in one… but wait, the old argument that went around and around in the old forum… if it’s was ‘’blah blah blah, people would be killing each other’’, and it when on for ever…. But this isn’t a survival simulation issue but a game design issue and one that many games suffer with. Also related to ‘risk and reward’, not just in game assets but enjoyment. ‘It’s a game’ and you respawn when dead. This is heavily swung in the favor of FPSer/PvP. Their goal is to get weapons and fight, a crazy, psychopathic trait in a human :P Nothing wrong with this in a game, no one should be forced to do it another way but… …What about the long term, RPing survivor, playing a survival game instead of a FPS? Sure, they gotta protect their stuff, defend against raider (Though these guys are not raiding, still :P). How would they do it… they go and find the psycho and remove them… thats nature, threat reduced and all is good? No.. it’s a game and we respawn on death, so the FPSer just tools up again and gives it another try, the Survivors have to defend again and take out the same thread they just did! And on it goes (that’s a PvP game loop not a survival game loop*2)…. You can no remove threats and that is an issue (in a lot of games), so in survival, you are forced to Partake in FPS over base building and farming… or got to game that’s more survival based (the forest, The long dark –sadly not MP… even Conan exiles does survival well with PVP, but that’s because not guns :P) I guess that’s a long way of saying/pointing out, Dayz is not a proper survival game but a mishmash of FPS and survival, that doesn’t work together/correctly. …and in 0.63, didn’t get sniped by people just wanted to kill you for no reason other than the luls, then I found out scopes are not in game yet..haha I would offer suggestion but don’t know if at this stage there is any point. Form the live stream they seem to talk about adding survival, but if they have got this far without really adding it, I worry :P I’m sure the game will get fixed by the Modders, and Dayz is just a platform on which Modders will make games… *Cus, right now, I don’t know what Dayz is trying to be* ---well, just one more comment: P Dayz wanted to keep away from the RP/stats/leveling side of thing, I agreed… then they talked about soft stats (Still happening?). There needs to at least be some reward for surviving over FPS… if it’s a survival game. FPSer don’t normally last that long and they don’t care (nothing wrong with that, put the Keys down!). there are so many that could be added as reward for surviving in a survival game (*3), but then the FPSer could cry that is not fair, as they just want a fun FPS game… Dayz, you can’t do both well >< --- *1) no survival challenges left unless you do the anti-survival action of putting yourself in extra danger by looking for people, or picking up big guns and amour you will never use. Sure, I do put myself at extra risk for fun, but it’s has rewards…. I go looking for nicer clothes, don’t just survive, and thrive: P *2) When a player or group is aggressive, it’s the other side that needs to reduce the threat. Normally by removing their recourses or access to them (as threat respawn), Buying the none aggressive side time to get stronger, and if successful, they become safe. In dayz: Where the survivors recourses are some weapons, food and water and a base. The FPS recourses are what spawns on the map… they just server hop, tool up and they are back :P *3) spend long enough in the woods in Rl and you will soon notice how you can single out and pinpoint sounds… a visual marker of somesort (as an option) as a reward, but would so upset the FPSer crowd
  3. TL;DR: Poor server performance is probably why there are many issues with loot, character status bugs, and infected, but we need more data to prove it. We also need a benchmark/baseline for server performance for when we start to operate our own servers. Greetings all! After gathering some info on a couple of different servers, I'd like to reach out and ask for assistance on gather a larger data set from other servers/communities. If you'd like to help or are interested in my theory as to why somethings don't seem to be working right, please continue to read on. At the bottom there is a link to a Google Sheet that server admins may use to share their collected data with me. --- What I'm on about: A server's performance has a lot to do with the overall health of the game that server is running. If the server is running poorly and is running low FPS (I'll explain more about server FPS below), certain functions may not be performing optimally and some tasks may not get happen at all. This may explain why we're not seeing things like loot respawning, old and ruined loot not being despawned/cleaned up, gunshots, player positioning, infected and other AI behaving oddly, and character status' not getting updated appropriately. Since most of this is speculation, I'm going to focus on the category that I'm the most certain is affected by poor server FPS; Loot. --- Server FPS and the CLE: Server FPS is also known as Ticks Per Second (TPS) in other games. /u/rainbowpizza did a great job of explaining this operation on the /r/DayZ subreddit 3 1/2 years ago: A server that is suffering from poor server performance and has a low tick rate/FPS, may not be firing off all of its operations on schedule and may either fall behind, or in some cases even skip some in favor of higher priority ones. The [CLE (Central Loot Economy)](http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Loot#Central_Loot_Economy) and the closely related persistence file health have me greatly concerned as we've all seen so many examples of servers not appropriately cleaning up old loot and ruined items, not properly spawning new loot and in some instances, spawning way too much loot in a few locations (loot explosions). --- Why bring this up now? To be blunt, I'm a bit concerned about how poor server performance is going to affect server owners, admins and communities once the Dev's release the server files and we are all free to host the servers on our own. Currently, a DayZ server can only be hosted by a Bohemia Interactive approved server hosting company, and we as the customers have very little control over our respective servers. This includes not knowing what kind of hardware we are paying for our servers to run on. Once we start hosting our servers on our own machines or machines that we rent and have more control over, I'm worried about how privately operated servers will run and how the Dev team will address a server's owner's concerns about low server performance. --- What I'm asking for: While DayZ servers are still ran by companies like Fragnet, Multiplay, Vilayer, Gaming Deluxe and others and have a mandate from BI as to what kind of hardware their DayZ servers must run, and knowing first hand what kind of poor performance our servers can sometimes be plagued with, I'd like to gather as large of a data set as possible from as many different servers. The wider the data set and the more data that we get from a variety of server hosts and locations, I think should help give us a solid benchmark to base our server performance off of once we start hosting servers independently. Having a baseline to work off of for the future should give us something to build off of and strive for when it comes to tweaking our server settings as well as something to point ot when we have to open a new support ticket about server performance. --- Server performance monitoring! Server owners and admins with access to their server's admin password, here is what you do to monitor your servers performance: Server FPS monitoring can only be done from in game, so you must jump onto your server to do this. Once in game, type `#login password` and replace password with your server's admin password. Next, you'll type in `#monitor .5-5` the numbers after the monitor command represent how often the server will spit out a report in seconds. I use .5, you can use 5, you can go up to 60 if you wanted. When you are done gathering a decent set of data, type in `#monitor 0(zero)` to stop recieving reports. Take a screenshot of your game so you can record the data! Please please PLEASE! gather a ton of data for this and do it during different times. Do it when your server is at a lower population, do it during it's normal peak population. Do it right after a server reset, do it just before a rest. Try to do it just before and after a known persistence wipe! The more data that you record with accurate information, the better of an understanding you will have of your server's unique performance and the better the rest of us will understand how our servers are performing compared to other similar ones. --- Gathering, Recording and Sharing Data. Feel free to alter the layout, and add more fields for more information, but please do not delete any of the fields and please do not record data without providing data for every field. PLEASE COPY THE TABLE FROM THE LINK ABOVE AND PASTE TO YOUR OWN, EDITABLE SHEET. The sheet linked above is locked and will you will not be able to edit it. You MUST copy and paste it to a Google sheet that you own. --- If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, please comment below. Please note that I do intend to publicly publish all this data once we get closer to the release of BETA. If you choose to share your data with me but do NOT want me to share your server/communities identity when I publish the data, please let me know via email when you send me your data set.

    So I got a new PC the other week and I just installed DayZ. I was told it would run DayZ fine but I tried just now and it runs at an average of 17/18 FPS on "Very Low". I was wondering what graphics card you DayZ players use. Also, if I need to upgrade, what card do you recommend for DayZ and other games? (My Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GT 630)
  5. Performance - FPS

    Hello survivors. I'd like to know anyone has any information on DayZ Performance Improvement (FPS). After the implementation of the new render (0.60), there was no further talk. Despite the improvement, Dayz's performance is still very tight. I have a PC with the settings higher than those recommended, but in cities, even with the setting in normal, it is always below 40 fps, if I improve the graphic then it drops to 30. Entering vehicle in the city due to speed, the fps drops to 20, sometimes 15 ... unplayable. Does anyone know if there are still new rendering steps to be implemented that will improve fps and finally raise Dayz's fps to acceptable levels (over 60 fps)?
  6. Dear community, A friend of mine has massive performance problems on his new gaming rig. In 0.61 he's got approximately 20 fps, which seems to be way to low in my opinion. His specs: Intel i7-7700K (4,2 GHz) 16 GB RAM nVidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB VRAM) My own system's basically worse and I get around 80-100 fps on average. I've already tried to optimize his settings, but even setting everything on low didn't change a thing. All the other games he plays seem to run perfectly fine. Does somebody know what the problem could be? Thank you in advance.
  7. Absurd BUG

    So I've just came back to DayZ and I'm amazed with the improvements as I can finally take advantage of my Hardware. I can run on MAX settings with a great framerate (60+), even in cities! The thing is me and my friend found a car today and when I'm driving or my friend is driving the car I get insane fps drops (3-15fps). I don't even have to be inside the car. If my friend drives it even with me outside the car (and the car is in my field of view) my game gets completely "REKT" and becomes unplayable. Literally it looks like I'm just scrolling through screenshots on windows photo gallery! My friend has a much worse PC and can drive or be passenger just fine. Before you ask, yes I've tried putting the graphics on minimum, the problem persists. Anyone else experiences this? Is there a fix?   8. [SOLVED] Textures Not Loading

    I just installed an EVGA GTX 1070 SC. My FPS has improved a lot but now textures arent loading. All of the textures that you can see load very quickly though.     With the recent success of the new renderer, my frames are simply out of control. The devs should add a frame rate cap option in video config options. At times i'm getting over 100 frames, and while this is pretty damn epic and smooth, when FPS fluctuation occurs it can cause hiccups. By limiting our frames, our CPUs and GPUs would see some valuable resource savings when it comes to optimizing graphics settings. Furthermore, I have recently begun trying to optimize my twitch stream for DayZ and it would be really beneficial if I could limit the number of frames my computer tries to draw rather than using vsync and fullscreen or hardware frame-rate caps to try and limit them superficially.
  10. World Renders Strange.

    Alright hello guys, Im your average Dayz joe, (Stand Alone) I recently upgraded my processor because I wanted to run better and now I do but I notice that I can see the world like polishing up and rendering in as I am moving, if Im not moving then it is fine, nothing is changing, but as soon as I start, it all just starts chaging the shape of the trees and everything. Another issue is that there are thing less then 1km away from me not loading in, like I see the streets but thats it, once i get within about 500 m I can start to have things render.
  11. I currently have: AMD FX 6300 (Overclocked to 4.1ghz) Crucial Ballistix 1600mhz (8gb installed but it says 4gb hardware reserved) Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 4gb oc Dual-x Western Digital blue 1tb I have heard that an SSD could fix my problem. Is this true?

    My friend gets higher fps and graphics when our pcs are very similar please help & read to bottom Here is my PC: GFX: R9 270x 4GB OC CPU: AMD FX 6300 OC 4.1 GHZ RAM: 4GB Crucial Ballistics Sport His PC: GFX: MSI GTX 950 CPU: AMD FX 6300 OC 4.1 GHZ RAM: GSkill Ripjaws X 16 GB He is able to run much higher settings and still get better fps. I have had my PC for a few months and he has had his PC for about 3 days. Please help me fix my issue. IF YOU CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG PLEASE RECCOMEND WHAT I SHOULD UPGRADE NEXT!!!!
  13. The new update brings a decent fps boost on my machine (HD7970) but I've noticed a severe frame drop while driving vehicles. A friend who owns a TitanX also experiences this. At first the drop is not noticeable but after several minutes of driving you'd be hitting several fps/s, especially around towns. I'm wondering what your experience with vehicles is on 0.60 and if the frame drop might be server related?

    Once upon a time you could bring up a playerlist and see if there were any people in the server. Will this ever return? It would be nice to have it. Also a simple functionality for some small info that you might need like: Fps, ping, latency would be nice. Sure I can use a program for it but should I really need to do that? Most games have this functionality built in and I KNOW that the Arma games have this as well as massive amounts of debug data if you want it. I dont need all that, just the ability to know how my game is running at the press of a button.

    I can't believe this is the performance they're getting from a 760 now on such settings. My 6700k/390x is going to cream all over this game. Freaking love it guys! Keep it up! EDIT: Removed ti, it's just a standard 760!
  16. This is how it would be the best: Back in the Mod days Zombies where spawned once a player came close to a city / any spawnpoint. Upside: lots of zombies possible Downside: you can figure out if a player is in a city by looking if there are any Zeds around. Now in SA we have Zombies who are spawned at the same time across the whole map, existing even though nobody is near! Now how about we mix the best of both worlds? Lets say we use the old mod technique again, but just add a little amount of fix spawned zombies here and there, chosen by a random chance function? This way you can never be sure if the zombies u see in a city mean that there is somebody around, or if they have just been spawned there by the server at random! The more you randomize a propability, the more unpredictable it becomes. I think this way we can easily free some server FPS and at the same time encounter more zombies. What do you think?
  17. Hello there! Foreword... After Standalone release I've stopped supporting my little DayZ community. But after huge disappointment in SA I didn't want to hear anything about DayZ at all for quite a long time. After a ~year long cool down - here is my attempt to revive that I've once had. For now my goal is to provide Stable/HighFps/WellProtected DayZ server. Server settings are [REGULAR|CH:ON|3RD:ON|SIDE:ON] and Zed damage set to 4x (2x by default) So here it is: IP: riexc.lv port:2302 Everyone is welcome!
  18. Hey guys - I have gotten quite a few requests for my settings in DayZ Standalone through my Twitch and Youtube channel! Here are my settings and my suggestions on increasing FPS (without having the game be too ugly looking)! Biggest suggestions for FPS increase: - GET A SOLID STATE DRIVE - USE THE NEWUI - RENDERING RESOLUTION TO 88-100% (less than that your textures dip drastically) - SCENECOMPLEXITY (Play around with it and find your sweet spot)
  19. So, I need help, I need a couple of components to add to my computer to help run DayZ better than I am already running it. I have a MSI Twin Frozr R9 270x 2gb at the moment right now. I dont need new ram, power supply, hardrive or ssd. Mainly I need help with finding out what GPU, CPU, and MOBO would be nice for under/ and or around $550. At the moment I run DayZ on lower than its lowest settings and only for some reason get around 35fps even in fields. I'm not super tech savvy so you may need to explain some things if you comment. Please help me, and thank you! My card: MSI twin frozr R9 270x 2gb Card I was thinking of: 750ti or Asus Strix 970 4gb. CPU I was thinking of: ? Motherboard/MOBO I was thinking of: ? As you can see I need help with finding out what CPU and MOBO would be nice to go along with a NVIDIA card. Again my budget is under/ and or around $550, if you can help me that would be awesome!

    Hi, usually my fps is stable from 30-45, but recently every few minutes it drops down to 5 and stays like that for a minute. I have a very good pc that is above the recommended settings for dayz and people who have the same pc as me dont encounter this problem. Hopefully someone can help me with this issue because as of now the game is basically unplayable. Thanks! My graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce GTX 765M and my processor is an intel core i7 btw
  21. Hi, Anyone help would be appreciated btw. So I used to play DayZ a lot about 4/5 months ago, approx. When I used to play it I used to get fine fps and no troubles. Then recently I wanted to start playing it again and I've been riddled with errors getting the game to work and when I do get on servers I'm getting 12fps at best regardless of whether i'm in a city. However I did play one Taviana server and had fine FPS (like what i used to get on all servers). Any help or tips would be very much appreciated. My specs aswell: AMD fx-4100 quad core 3.6GHz only 4gb of ram Nvidia gtx 750ti 2gb windows 7 32-bit (hence the 4gb of ram, it caps out at 4) And as i said; used to run like a charm. Also since then, I've got a new graphics card!! one far good enough for arma, i get very high fps on high end games like bf3.

    Hey. So I recently tried playing DayZ again with a different computer thinking my frames would be better. The problem is that they're even worse. I get 30 FPS no matter what the settings are. ~30 FPS in towns and ~50 in the middle of nowhere on max and minimum settings. What can I do? Specs: Windows 10 64bit MSI AMD R9 930 (8GB) Intel Core i5 4460 3.20 GHz 8 GB ram I get about 100 FPS playing Witcher 3 on high settings. Honestly dont know how I can't get over 30 in towns in DayZ. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. Hey everyone, I was on may way to more fps and wondered which launch options actually do work. There are many people and pages out there suggesting a lot, but at the end of the day I did not experienced any real improvements yet. (Using 0.58 stable right now.) There are for instance: -nosplash -> Does remove the Bohemia-logo at the start, but the time until I'm in the main menu of the game does not seem to be reduced (guess the brand is shown already while the game loads?) -cpuCount=x -> no effect -nopause -> no effect I could recognize while tabbing in/out My hardware is not up-to-date, but still in a good shape: i7 3770K, GTX 680 (2GB), 2x4 GB RAM. But maybe still to powerful to make a remarkable difference with the launch options alone? Please focus on the functionality of the launch options in this thread. - Do you have any experiences like that? - Do you know which launch options are available for the DayZ Standalone and actually do work?
