true this sometimes happens to us aswell! honestly why do I see 20 pages of freaking heatpacks and nothing about tents/vehicles! I don't know about you guys but I will trade a 100 heatpacks for 1 freaking working tent!

Ok you want a game mechanic for it? Make it so zombies migrate in from the north and west edges of the map, make it so that you can clear out zombies in the towns, make it so that you can build equipment to manufacture parts for cars, casing and powder for bullets and other such things, make it so that to get these things running you have to travel to the north and western parts of the map, make it so your tents/vehicles storage area doesn't reset on server crashes/restarts. Those are just a few ideas that poped into my head, are they possible? I have no idea. How would they effect the game? Still not sure, I'm a player not a developer and I can only see how it would effect me and my friends I know. -
The people bitching about vehicles fixes, probably won't even get to use a vehicle or have never used one in the first place.

p4lztZ is on to something i think.. Players tents and saved vehicles (if unclaimed) should despawn when the player dies, perhaps after 10-15 minutes of the player dying, that or the owner should not be able to see whats inside (blank inventory).

The tents are working as intended, they're just hard as tits to place. For vehicles, the only issue is the repair menu ( wich rocket said it's fixed in 1.5.9 ) and the absence of any respawn for them ( like loot ). Dunno saying " vehicles and tents are broken " while it's not.

My server have also no vehicle, but i think its so importand for long time experience. Tents for Saving good stuff like NVG or some othe Items. I hope the vehicles comming back so fast as possible -

Lootable skins? Suggestion! Good day fellow members, Rocket has mentioned that he is designing a way for lootable skins to be retreived by the player and then further worn. But how will this work? Not even i am sure, although if rocket is still not 100% sure himself, i have an idea which i think will be properly balanced, challenging, fun and rewarding. Skins previously were linked to humanity, and the skin could be changed on the fly depending on if you shot someone or if you gave someone some medical attention. So its already been proven that skins can be certainly changed in realtime (With some minor blips, but this is of course an alpha development). I suggest that the skin system be lootable to an extend but not the same way as the normal loot spawns. I propose that skins be found in "Parts", that take up one inventory slot and stack in that inventory slot, After all the parts are made, you are given the "full" usable entity, allowing you to right click the item and "Wear" or "Remove", putting you back to the default skin. The way that you would find the parts of these clothing would be from slaying the particular zombie, or going to particular places to find these particular skins, and depending on the skin itself, its spawn rate might be dependant on either how many zombies have been spawned on the server, or by how many players out of max slots on the server there are. ( meaning skins only spawn if a %/50 players are on in some scenario's ). Military skins would be unlocked by shooting airfield spawned zombies (NOT DEERSTAND MILS), A zombie has a 1/50 chance of spawning a peice of the clothing, and a minimum of 20 peices are required to get the full set. The combination of having to really farm a location, along with having a minimum amount of players out of max slots, means that people cannot simply join a low populated server and expect to find it everywhere. This makes looking for military skins in particular very difficult, as airfields are hotspots. Another example of a way to achieve a skin is not by a physical item, but by reaching a milestone. You repair lots of vehicles? Repair a minimum of (enter parts and # here ) and you will get a specific engineer skin You the dedicated medic? use so many bandages, epi pens, morphine, and BT's on other players ( enter # of each here ) and you will get a specific medical officer skin You like to use sniper rifles a lot? (CZ-50 + # of kills) Get a minor sniper suit! Like hunting animals? (# of animals gutted ) and you will get the hunter skin! The list can go on and on, If you want a farmer skin simply go to a barn and slay the zombies around there for cloth, or simply use the acheivement way of doing things. How does this fit with the "Realism" side of DayZ? Simple, When a zombie is infected the clothes they are wearing will be clotted with blood and disease, making wearing these items very unbearable. By stitching together parts of items of clothing together that are not stained by zombie sweat and blood, you lower the risk of just pulling off a zombies outfit and becoming seriously ill. The achievement system (which can run in conjunction with the item system or not, by the way) can also signify the fact that a player is simply focusing on a style of gaming, his character gets better and better at his way of survival, and has accustomed his clothing to help better aid him and be more use to him. Please, if you read this give a comment or some reputation, this is merely an idea but i would love to get some response from players, admins, or developers alike. Does that mean choppers and other vehicles will still leak fuel no matter what? Our group has tried multiple vehicles now with success to the point of filling the gas where it slowly leaks no matter what. We did get the chopper up for about 20 seconds with a half dozen jerry cans tossed in and taking off right away. Hopefully the fuel tanks will be able to hold gas properly now :)

Thanks for the update RMan. You've mentioned in this thread that vehicles will be fixed/added but this is not reflected in your latest changelog notes. Can those of us with newer servers expect vehicles to be added today? Thanks dood, awesome mod.

Sorry for "late reply", but does this mean that all the bugs concerning vehicles have been fixed (= vehicles get enabled) or just that the refuelling option has been fixed?

Working vehicles on all servers in todays patch ?

This should be disabled, as its too easy for people with choppers to simply fly around and find the dots on the radar, corresponding to working vehicles on the map. In most cases those vehicles are parked near the campsites of the vehicle owner. This gives way too much power to those with choppers.

Tank traps? Uhhhhg more things for people to grief you with. The wire right now is mainly used to lock people out of buildings by placing them inside door ways and ladders so taht your character cant enter or exit through those areas. I for see lots of people using tank traps to lock vehicles into spawn locations just to grief people.

From what I can tell. Some server have vehicles turned on some dont. Seems some have only choppers on and some have choppers and cars etc etc. Also since the last patch, vehicle repairs arnt working because of the scroll menu bug.

Also (again, sorry), will the vehicles be able to respawn if destroyed ? And will the leaky helicopter bug be fixed ?

As far as I know, vehicles aren't working right now. At least, this is what the admin of a server I was playing in stated. Can anyone confirm this? I have tracked down nearly every spawn location on the Wiki and seen nothing, have encountered zero players in vehicles, and buildings are filled with vehicle repair loot.
