  1. @0.64 Freerider I completely agree with this. I mean, the 2 guns on your shoulder update means we MUST get rid of primaries from containers. It’s far too OP, otherwise. Also, only pistols or sawn-offs should fit in clothing. I've been playing some console this week, and it’s even worse! Because they have a number-based inventory, rather than PC Tetris-style, I was able to fit a Mosin in my pants! Is that a gun in your pants or are you just excited to see me? Er... IT’S A FUCKING MOSIN! I really hope this is something that is already planned, and the actual reason for the shoulder update. If not, you’re basically a walking weapon cache. When 1.04 hits consoles you’ll be able to carry 3 primaries in a backpack, 2 on your shoulder, 1 in a vest, 1 in a jacket, 1 in pants, and 1 in your hands. That’s NINE primaries. 3 should be the absolute max.

    @chambersenator 90 seconds? Wow, that’s not long at all. A few minutes would be better. Also, has anyone tested the defib? It’s a lot of fun. You can make someone go uncon by using one on them. I wonder if the length of unconsciousness has been tweaked? Saw someone do it earlier, and they were unconscious for at least 5 minutes. I hope this is intentional because uncon state was too short before, imo.

    Personally I think it’s close. The menu overlay bug is the only major one I can see now. When that’s fixed it’ll be ready. 20 minute smoke grenades, I can live with. Although maybe the servers can’t. Seems to be a few crashes too, but that’s typical for expy, right?

    I don’t think the menu glitch has a confirmed fix, yet... The closest thing is ‘client side error in main menu’ but I don’t think that’s it, myself.

    I genuinely thought that there were now spawn locations in most towns/areas. This is disappointing, and definitely open to abuse, but needs more testing. I suppose nobody will really care when private servers are available on every platform.

  9. Check their breathing. If you can see/hear the breath coming from their mouth, they are still alive.. 1.04 has the ability for you to quickly check their pulse, so it should be much easier in the future.

    Will never come to the vanilla game. There are already some modded servers where you can choose your spawn town. Can’t remember the names of those servers, though.

    How well does Unity work with 225 square kilometres of open world terrain in an mmo game? DayZs engine is designed specifically for the job, and whilst it has taken its time getting there, it’s the best one available, for sure. People have spoken about DayZ losing it’s soul around here, but imagine it in UNITY? Sheesh!

    Nah, I’m not anymore. I started on Xbox, but loved it so much, I bought a PC just to play it. The game must be doing something right to have that effect on me!

    @bent.toe I know, it’s shit man. It’s not like they need to keep the invite and join game feature. If people can’t work out how to join the same server as their friends, DayZ is probably not for them.

    Watching this guy stream this now. People in his chat say the join game method of duping is fixed... the streamer says he can think of a potential work around. Hopefully he’s wrong.

    I kinda understand what you mean, to be honest. I first played the game in December 2018, and have clocked up 700 hours since then. I’m obviously loving it at the moment, but I still watch old videos (been watching content for years), and get nostalgic about it. The way the old engine was optimised for pc controls seemed to add to it’s depth and complexity. Something does seem off about it nowadays. It could just be that the hype I’d built up in my head, didn’t quite live up to the reality. That being said, it’s the only game I play, so I’m definitely hooked. I get absolutely giddy every time they release an update. But yeah, since I’m a new player, and have seen 4 decent updates in 6 months, development seems be going well from my point of view. In hindsight, do agree that 1.0 was a bit of a joke, but if the population continues to grow, and the updates keep coming, I’ll be happy.

    Looking at the steam charts, I have to dispute that. It’s averaged 8500 players in the past 30 days. The pop has steadily increased since February. Last time it was higher than that was June 2016, when it was 10k ish. https://steamcharts.com/app/221100 I don’t think critics are necessarily being squelched, either. Everyone’s just saying their opinion, man. We can disagree and still co-exist.

    1.03 was definitely pushed too early (released on Friday, out on Wednesday, iirc). I think that was probably due to the BI anniversary sale, which happened the same week. This patch seems pretty good, apart from the bugs you’ve listed. Let’s hope the fixes are simple enough.

    @ImpulZ Can we get an explanation on some of the medical stuff? Most players are experiencing a constant sickness? Is it a bug (lol), is it for testing purposes so we try the medical stuff? It appears to be an issue when drinking from a well. But someone said it might be from zed attacks? I’ve done some digging on the medical side in the old version of the game. Apparently, fever was a thing you could get from zed attacks. Is the new fever different to the old one? If so what is it? There doesn’t appear to be many penalties to this sickness. Occasional vomiting, and that’s it. I also see influenza and fever are mentioned separately, so I presume they aren’t the same? Thanks

    Modders come up with cool shit based on the engine that BI make, and are only able to because BI give them the keys to the engine, so credit where it’s due. It’s a lot easier to add cool stuff to an engine, rather than build it it from the ground-up. You think it would have been an easy and bug-free process for a modder to implement something like throwing, for example? The future is looking good imo. Regular updates from devs (approx 6 weeks), excellent modding community, slowly increasing player base, etc. To stop that now, would be madness.
