I decided to install a silencer on my M4, then found a bayonet shortly after. I was forced to pass it up for shortage of inventory space. Thus I remain sans blade. :( A knife is the single most important part of survival after balls. I can honestly say I've never carried a knife in anything other than a sheath, and given the opportunity to grab one or craft one, who wouldn't? I don't think I need to explain this, so how about a knife sheath as an additional gear carrying option (similar to the chest holster), that doesn't require you to sacrifice another article of clothing or gear carrier (like the equipment vest does if you have the chest holster). Literally a standalone, belt-dangling, 2-slot, blade holster that accepts nothing but a knife. And by 'knife' I mean the kitchen knife, hunting knife, combat knife, and M9 bayonet. It would be great in the future to be able to make one from leather or other found-ingredients.

What happens if you have one in your hands and one on your back when you log out? Sorry if its a stupid question, but it basically makes/breaks the whole matter from my POV.

Patch log shows LR Scope can't be attached.. I own an SKS and have a very similar scope to the PU scope. Because of the design of the receiver cover there are limitations to what can be attached. My biggest beef is that the bayonet should be standard. The vast majority of these, whether issued or stored in wood crates with cosmoline were manufactured with the retractable bayonet. It has limited utility in the game obviously, but once bayonets work they'll be a perfect substitute for not carrying a standard melee weapon.

Fear not, this is likely a phase. Reading the forums, listening to the live streams from Dean/devs, and playing the game have led me to one conclusion: This game will ultimately become unattractive to the action-FPS gamers and they'll be drawn away by Battlefield 5 or COD 23, or whatever. The vast majority of KoS types are here because its the new hot game, and they do what they do because they don't know any better. Furthermore, 'Bandit' and 'KoS' are not synonymous. As much as I despise them, Bandits will always be a part of the game, just as they are a part of life. Bandits are the capitalists of survival, most of them just want something, but not your life. Murder means fewer return customers B)

I think Macdeth has daddy issues. Helping is just another pastime, whether coercive or passive. I got my M4 for hunting wabbits.

It might open the game up to new accessories like scope-caps or glare reducing filters. I think the sunglasses create the same glare.

LoL.. I heard that somewhere else too, but like I said its been on different servers. It crossed my mind that it was a warning about zombies or somebody tracking us with a LR scope.

Stable server.. saw it about 20 minutes into a session while cresting a hill with my buddy South of Berezino. It was about 30 seconds after we thought we saw a guy too.

Military gear definitely has draw backs. The survivor in me wants to be able to keep a low profile when I'm travelling, but like this other guy, I've had more people run up and say hello when I'm not kitted out. The friendliest treatment I've ever gotten recently was when I was wearing a beanie, red checked shirt and a purple backpack. Earlier today (same character) I got shot by a random sniper (though I survived) after upgrading to a brown hoodie and realtree pants. Granted I have an M4 now... which makes me wonder if an M4 is just a bandit-badge... I think its silly to think that bandits spend any length of time in these forums hunting down intelligence for what to wear to capture unsuspecting victims. The name of the game is that body language and appearance is going to be MOSTLY accurate. Chance are if you encounter someone wearing bright clothes on the street two things are true, (1) they didn't put much thought into disappearing and (2) if they were any good [and wanted to kill you] you'd probably never even see them. Almost every time I've been killed by a KoS asshole it was from somewhere I couldn't see. My biggest problem, and maybe for a few others, will be putting away my realtree and ballistic helmet in favor of conspicuous, brightly colored 'friendly' garb. Invisibility is like a warm blanket in the wastelands...

It has something to do with the fact that Zombies are a singular object within the world, like a piece of fruit. Once the object has been acted upon, it vanishes, freeing up server resources and eliminating it from existence. This was done to make the zombies as resource-stingy as possible, allowing more to be incorporated into the game down the road. The "infected" bit, while true and confirmed by Dean, is likely nothing more than a cover story to assuage gamers from expecting a complex player object from turning into a simple zombie object. I.E. People turning into zombies makes no sense like Will Smith becoming a zombie in I Am Legend makes no sense. It's just not in the cards. The trade off is that instead of having relatively few manipulable, loot carrying 'infected', we'll have plentiful, dangerous numbers of simple 'infected'.

We all hate combat loggers, old story right? Well what about guys you cuff and bag? What if being cuffed was a death sentence at log-out? I.E. you log with cuffs on, you wake up on a beach with a flashlight and tshirt.. I've read a post or two about adding 'deterioration' to the cuffs and being able to Hulk the buggers off, but what if it wasn't so simple and they worked, to the point that you have to deal with what comes next.. There needs to be 'incentive' for people who are being restrained to accept their fate and play on. Not all situations involving restraint will end in your death. You might get robbed, stripped, humiliated, fed a rotten banana or two, but who hasn't experimented? Surviving the ordeal will make your story all the more interesting. Similar to the efforts being made to punish you for logging while bleeding or taking fire, something could/should be done to punish someone who logs whilst in irons. I'm imagining a guy with his arms locked behind him and a burlap sack over his head running across a field having just escaped his captors, looking for a savior or a friend... Which brings me to the next point: In addition to making the cuffs work properly (and semi-permanently), there should be a number of ways to break them. A hammer and screwdriver, pliers, a well-placed ax swung by a friend or even a bullet should be viable options for removing cuffs (sans key of course). The added bonus for the person being cuffed, is that logging is salvation. You can meet your maker and wind up on a beach if your time is too valuable to spend it with some new surprise-friends.

I hate to be a broken record, but I'm hoping there's something I can try. I was in a server that I don't normally use, it had a decent enough ping and I'm travelling from the far NE all the way south so I can link up with a friend of mine tonight. I'm at work, so naturally I got interrupted and had to sign-out. About 10 minutes later I got back in, but this time went to a server under my favorites. When I got in i couldn't put anything into my hands and doors wouldn't work. I waited about 5 minutes, still nothing.. a few yellow-link notifications later I gave up. Tried to get back into the same server, and now it says unable to connect. I try another server AAAAANNND Bam... ocean waves; I'm on the beach. Total reset. :facepalm: Now this isn't the first time I've been through this, normally if go back to the server I was in, my character is back, and I'm probably done playing for the night. This time, I tried that second server, and it still says "Unable to Connect" and the first server was a total mystery to me. Either way, I've tried a few different ones now and I can't seem to get my character to load from the central hive. Am I screwed?? Is there some sort of punishment system built in because it looked like I was hopping servers? Part of my issue is that I'm often playing over a WiMax (4G) wifi connection and some servers can get a little squirrelly. Is there a best practice or a time frame for safe server-changes?? I'm really disappointed and might hang up my gloves for a while if I'm really reset.

LoL. I bought a rather unassuming Lenovo Y500P with an SLI GPU inside.. I have an office, so as long and I'm alert it just looks like I'm working. Cursing a reset character almost blew my cover though... ;)

This is a useless response, yours and all those like it. If the game works fine 20 times and then suddenly doesn't, we're here to voice what's happening and hopefully identify patterns. In some cases I've seen work-arounds, but I for one (have a similar post) am looking for patterned resets. The kind that might be built into the game because it thinks I'm server hopping or combat logging. While I do neither, I could see how frustrated developers might install a protocol that resets a person on the central hive because of assumed behavior. If all you want to do is respond with "Its an Alpha, move on" you may as well not post. Since others have experienced issues or might have first hand knowledge of what is happening, its them that we want to hear from. That way future headaches might be prevented. People play different ways, and the disappointment of losing a rare item doesn't sting any less when reminded that its an Alpha release.

I was thinking and it really would be great to add beards to the game that will make it more more realistic and more enjoyable, and i know it could pain in the ass to create a new character design so you can add it like findable equipment like hats i know it maybe sounds stupid but it can be, there is some pictures by me to show how great i think it will be That second dude with the Genghis Khan beard is pretty badass..
