Well I don't personally think that I would be abusing morphine or painkillers in the apocalypse seeing as Itd be a bitch to find / create in a real scenario . Although I would definitely love to see them add alcohol , it's the perfect medium , it's not too extreme like some examples people have had (like pcp in pill form , or heroin in syringe form , THAT is too much realism) and it does provide some fucked up consequences we all know and love / hate: puking after too much to drink , being off balance and disoriented , and eventually would lead to death (quick form of alcohol poisoning for the sake of the game) If you were to drink like 2 bottles of alcohol In a small amount of time. The loot spawn they could add would just be a regular 750 ml vodka (I would say jack Daniels but its Russia lawl ) it could be used to be abused , as a disinfectant , or a Molotov cocktail :).

This is a cool idea , a lot of people have been wanting to do this on food an stuff to leave notes or to mark whos is whos . But Obviously blood bag marking is much more important than food marking haha(we should defly have the ability to write on any hard surface though ), good idea.

But that being said the only thing that keeps you from performing open heart surgery while flying a b-52 bomber is knowledge and practice so technically you CAN do anything you'd like(including rebuilding a damaged engine) , and in post apocalyptic chernarus there is no specializations . Kind of hard to explain but think of it like this , we can all do anything in real life , it just requires going to college / school to learn the trade , or just doing it over and over again to teach yourself so there's no specialized classes because of the logic of survivalism , noone would search for a medic to stitch themselves up in a real apocalypse , they would just wing it instead. But we do get your plea for specialized classes , if it were any other game id be all for it but dayz is just different than anything out there it truly is. so we all have to realize it has very open and different mechanics that don't necessarily work for certain good ideas . Could definitely work for private hives that like role playing with assigned roles though ?

Goddamn I loved that story . Didnt read it at first, wasn't gonna but damn son good stuff. I love zombie lore especially when it's tied into something visual. Look at the zombie encounter book by max brooks, it's got plenty of stories of zombie outbreaks based on historical events . This is what dayz needs. Little stories, maybe even improvised diaries people made and left behind at certain areas like these tents so we feel more connected with the apocalypse plaguing chernarus ( and I assume the rest of the unseen dayz world ).

So With All The Books In The Game, Here Is An Idea To Put Them To Use.

Books should , in my opinion like Qritz said, be all user -submitted stories (obviously reviewed by rocket and his team first ) and also they should be able to be used as fire kindling . Lastly which I've always thought about is the chance to find a "stash book " one with cutout pages with an item place inside. Such as a makarov (or fn45 if the book is big ) or maybe just regular items hidden in between pages . OR if rocket and his team wanted to create a bunch of treasure notes , there could be random notes left in books pointing to stashes of guns , ammo , food or water inside the house / building you found the book in . -
We all know and love the classic dayz broken leg syndrome ... I want to enhance this potentially annoying feature by adding the ability to break ribs as well . Besides the obvious down side of pain , after breaking a rib your character would run 50% slower maybe also not be able to run forever like we can do currently . Breaking a rib could occur in many different ways , mostly from blunt objects hitting your body and small caliber firearms . As soon as the rib breaks you hear the classic bone break sound and can still fight regularly without much of a stance change , but you will also attack with melee at a reduced damage % because you can't fully use your body to swing . Ways to cure broken ribs could be a type of wrap that goes around your body that would act as a splint , or maybe even adding in a "lay down" hot key like f7 , that way if no body wraps can be found you could lay down a lot in between running to eventually mend the bones.

Yea and sheer fact of the matter is , I'm sure rocket will have coded in a TON of stuff to do by the time it's beta , so useless skill trees in video games will be a thing of the past because if you wanna specialize in being a medic one day , then realize you wanna be better at piloting an aircraft the next day you'd have to create a new character , removing immersion and makin , well a scripted video game as opposed to a "do anything and change at anytime " game . And not to mention the games about realism and in real life , skills ARE made because of repeating something over and over again .

I've always loved the saga 12k in other games not to be mentioned . Never really shot one in dayz mod though , so I'd love to see one in the standalone .

Firefighters carry 50+ pounds of weight up stairs and through burning buildings . Army/marine carry the same if not more pounds of gear and can run all over the damn Middle East with it . I'm sure our hearty survivors who are immune to an apocalyptic disease can run uphill just a wee bit faster hahaha. Like I said I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of getting around to it , cuz although we all know its harder to run up hill , it isn't THAT hard and it does impede on realism .. Think of it would you really slowly walk up a hill just cuz you don't want your calves burning even though a bandits shooting at your ass ?

Agreed . But until they develop some type of stamina system I'm sure they won't even address the issue seeing as it isn't a game breaker but don't worry mate it's in the back of everyone's minds haha.

A throwing system is being created , one much better than the one from arma , so I'd expect if spears were in when the throwing mehanics are finished , for the spears to be a formidable throwing weapon . Imagine seeing a group of Bambi's running around , you realize they are armed with spears but think you can handle it with the sks on auto ... You approach to realize there are more spear weilding Bambi's hidden in the apartment building next to you . As you make this realizAtion , three spears enter your body . They would totally impale the target and in my opinion should be able to be taken out of the body , with a 50% chance of breaking while doing so . You could also stab / thrust with the spear .

Yea that would be fun definitely somethin for down the road though if it ends up being challenging to code ( don't know why but you never know, making some percentage for the revolver barrel spinning could be tricky ) but if it could be easily implemented/ coded I say go for it . -
I don't necessarily think dual weilding pistols is the best choice but he could be on to something ... If you're sporting a pistol , obviously you can't attach a bayonet to the pistol that's long enough to penetrate the skull , so if you could dual weild a sidearm and a knife / machete you could be a zombie killing machine , fast and efficient . ;)

I feel as though this has been suggested before but couldn't find it with the search . But the idea is that pistols(and all other guns) have to be properly "kept" on your person so it doesnt get mishandled and go firing off . So if you didn't keep your pistol in a holster and just kept it in your pants , sometimes randomly while bolting with your fists out ( or just running regularly) the sidearm would fire accidentally leaving you bleeding and maybe with a nice painful animation of you stopping suddenly and droppin to one knee ,to go along with it . What do you guys think , Is it too much haha ?

Haha ya I see what you're saying .. But Imagine getting knocked out instead of dying from a face shot though it'd be too legit haha , and of course the mask would break after getting shot since the whole "ruined" status finally makes a difference :)

Like the jackal said , it's a role playin element . and although I wouldn't role play too hard , I would definitely be drinking a bottle of jack Daniels before I storm an enemies base , and then I'd finish with a fat honey cigar over my enemies corpses .
