Can't wait to get out into experimental after work and feel the sweet temperature on my skin ..now all daddy needs is some barricades and I'm set til vehicles and base building come out :) . -

My farm will be a 10 X 15 ft . rectangle plot inside the broken down church near ... Well some know what I'm takin about , there's a few of them and I will be waiting there for my crops to grow with my clan and all the lrs'ed moisins they can carry .. We will be waiting Jubei lol ... But on a serious note I'm sure the plants will grow to full in about 3 days real time , and if they ever get time acceleration working correct admins could make it so crops grow full in as little as 12 hrs real time .. I think it's a great addition for when canned goods become very scarce , good for both me the farmer survival guy , and you the highway man nomad type ;) . Edit: can't wait to get out of freaking work and check this patch out :) . -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

Never seen a hacker on us/uk servers in over 700 hours , just glitchers looking through walls and with glitched ammo . Honestly I think a lot of people are having the same effect that people who recently saw UFO's have; over 60% don't actually even see anything at all ... Whether you believe in that or not doesn't matter , but what does matter is people love to assume ... So I honesty believe it's just misinterpretations of glitches , Desync/lag, and over confidence after being killed which turns into denial . Although I will agree that there are plenty of hackers out there, I highly doubt they plague all servers as much as some of us like to believe .. As just the other dayme an a friend were together in the office building he took a phone call and he remained on the first floor , in this minute time span I ran upstairs , he came back to his laptop and saw me desyncing on the first floor of the office building when I was actually on the second floor , when I changed weapons my characters image teleported to its actual position on the second floor .. If anyone else had seen this besides my friend they would have assumed a teleporter must be around , but again this is a product of Desync . But then there's that nasty "take all your stuff off of your character just by looking at you " hack , which I've never seen firsthand but this one seems to be the only one I'll believe cuz there's no other way this could happen by a glitch, so it would be more clearly a hack, unless the victim of the "hack" is just plain lying .. -
Well as the topic certainly says ; where's the talk of barricades ?!? This has been my most beloved feature on the roadmap (and is on the roadmap for quarter 3 which technically ends by the beginning of October ) but there has been absolutely no talk of it for the entire alpha development ... I'm assuming the zombies clipping through walls would have to be addressed before they could start to work on the barricades but im surprised more people don't talk about this ... So barricadeZ, if anyone has any info , spill the beanz , otherwise post your comments of obsessions over 2x4's here !!

Isador , just a tip , being a mercenary usually infers that you freelance ... You should Probly leave your clan if you wanna do this ... Otherwise good idea and I think you should have a "rewards " section in which you post screenshots or videos of you checking the selected bandits pulse for proof... I think I will steal your idea soon and become doge bounty hunter with my friend pinhead Larry . -
Wow I for some reason thought they removed all of the buildings on the island when they moved to standalone ... I'm gonna check this beast out soon, I loved the feelin of going to skalitsy mostly to check for helicopters , but it also really made you feel like the island was a safe haven of sorts , having to swim out to it .. But at any rate I think I'll have my first barricaded house (we need barricades soon!! ) at skalitsy maybe a lil' farm up on that bitch, Id be set .

Lol survive the nights is only a prototype with no multiplayer and a 64km squared map (and noone knows what the second game is Probly crap ) where as chernarus is 224 km squared ... And when you add multiplayer a whole lot more problems crop up ... Keep crying kid , all you gotta wait for is that arcadey hold your hand h1z1 game and you'll fit right in with all the whiners that are bitching about this game :) .

Great update dev team , I just wish barricades could be mentioned soon , I'm fearing that they've been forgotten about but its one of the things I'm Looking forward to most :/ ... I mean how are we gonna protect our stash of crops if we can't barricade ourselves into our farms ? ;) . -

We definitely don't need to change this building , just the other night I rushed into the middle jail building of the NW airfield : there was a camper with his back against the wall (I knew because two minutes earlier I opened the door and quickly jumped to the side like I always do out of suspicion , turns out my suspicion was right as he unloaded at least 20 akm bullets towards the opening door ) . I took one bullet to my body maybe more but luckily wasn't unconcious , so I rush in and zig zag towards the stairs, I somehow miss the stairs and end up right next to him against the wall next to the stairs , we both quickly realized our positions and fired madly .. Luckily he hadn't reloaded and only had ten bullets or so to spray at me , which most hit the stairs as he pulled the trigger while turning (dumb idea if you have no ammo to waste ) and during this I unleash the beast of a black sks I have into his chest and skull .. Check and mate son the camper goes down due to a bit of luck , good aim and rushing ... But if you don't want to try your luck if there are campers in this building try this method which I use if I don't want to die : 1.) either wait for another person to be gunned down in the doorway and wildly shoot into the door when you see the campers looting, or 2.) keep running past the door and opening it , the campers will be scared enough to shoot at least half the time ; then when you hear the reloading ammo sound you dash in , hoping to not be taken down by another camper who isn't reloading at the time (both tricky methods but better than not doing anything then dying after trying to rush in at a random time ).

This ^ ... In my opinion the only reason you made this thread (whoever the original poster is ) was to bash the devs or at least get a couple kids on board to start a whine fest... I hope this is out of general curiosity and not to start some bullshit flame storm about the new patch not coming out when "promised" or something , but if you are truly curious than it's ok , but IMO there's no reason for such a poll seeing as the experimental branch is close to receiving a new update so common sense says as long as there's no problems we will see it pushed to stable just a few days after, and If it doesn't make it this month then it will be a few days into September , no biggie smallz at all . -
Will I be able to take suicide in DayZ?

I'm looking forward to this feature I've been glitched or desperately sad about my characters progress (lol) and I juSt want to live my characters life how some do in movies : blow my brains out when I don't like how things are going, but I believe there should be a limit of how many times you can do this in a day , maybe one suicide per server per day or 3 suicides a day total (just to prevent suicide trolling). -

If you start to die of hunger or thirst and can't be bothered to make a straight run north or south - west (I always find some canned goods there , especially in that civilian building with stars on the trim) then you should log off of experimental and check out a couple stable servers ... This game is no walk in the park nor should it be , and experiment is even more brutal seeing as all the mechanics are ... Being experimented with ? Tl;dr : if you are having a tough time on experimental go to stable , if you are frustrated with stable, log the bugs/issues and take a break for a day or even a few hours .. :0 ! -

I like this idea to a point , it definitely could help you in maybe 20% of altercations , the example the OP had is probably the only situation that it would be helpful but hey, I love the idea of adding more complex Layers to the whole trust thing.. even if that guy (in the ops example) had some how not gotten shot and was in fact innocent, it adds a new dynamic which is further paranoia towards strangers ... I think if this was in it should definitely not be in the scroll wheel options cuz that would be annoying lol . But I say if this isn't too hard to implement then go for it but like others have stated there's only a small amount of use for it but if we start adding in these little things now the game will be amazing just with these small details, so it could be worth it . -
Well it's obviously not for freshies dude lol ... It of course would be end game content for people who have nothing else to do and don't want to loot forever to feed their entire clan ... And for the sake of gameplay I'm sure it won't take forever to grow them but it's not going to grow "instantly" either .. Definitely need horticulture , cuz when my clan of 20 is hungry it will be a lot easier going out back to the garden and harvest what I got rather than having to raid an entire town and risk being engaged by bandits ..

Do it yourself bro , you can make a poll you know , if you're so confident go ask.. I guarantee your attitude will be repeated through a small handful of like mjnds but to be honest not many are cynical towards the devs as you may think . I know things that are planned don't always work out but for the console to just "takeover" the PC development simply because they wanna make more Money doesn't make sense to me because Bohemia is an ... HONEST studio , we all know that ELECTRONIC ARTs are crooks , we've known that forever now, let's not let all the other corrupt studios out there smear our view of a company that's done me right for 3 years now (bi) all the way back to the first mod I played (dayz breaking point) ... And yes A lot of people will say the development went too slow but what does that have to do with anything ? PC version is being worked on by the original crew and the console version isn't even slated until 2016 and is also being developed by another separate team,so I guarantee you this game (PC version ) will be done by then (as in totally finished by December 2016 no doubt ) and the only thing that needs to be done to the PC version at that point is some updates here and there ( and hopefully some expansions).

Wrong - the console version is being developed by a different studio altogether (and dean stated that all results will be shared within the two studios , I.e there will be no "unique features" for either PC or console version , they will both be exactly alike except Maybe for inventory system ) and the console version is being prioritized lower than the PC version , rocket already stated that "dumbing down the PC Version " will not happen , and that everything will be exactly the same except for things like inventory layout cuz there's no mouse involved ... and even when rocket leaves at the end of the year i adamantly believe that bi won't just stop working on the PC version just to complete the ps4 version(or dull it down because by then the games out of alpha stage so there can be no "dumbing down " ) ... Oh and anther big flaw in your thought process : dayz for ps4 won't be out or playable until at least the middle to end of 2016, and by then dayz on PC will be far past beta lawl ! Also playing on a controller : not as "impossible" as you may believe . You should do some research before posting because before the .47 update I occasionally played with a controller (.47 update for some reason broke the use of controllers ), and I used almost every key binding by having certain actions be a combination of two different buttons on the controller , so I have all my single buttons bound to certain keys/actions and then I'll have my inventory hot bar 1- 10 activated by holding down left trigger(or right trigger ) and pressing one of the d-pad directions. So for people who believe that controllers can't be used with this game or the inventory system you're wrong ( I even set up my mouse to be my right analog stick so with a controller I could control the mouse in the game AND in the inventory , it was just a tad. Bit slower than normal ) and for the people who truly believe the PC version is going to be "dulled down" or forgotten about you need not worry cuz in my opinion , even if Bohemia was the greediest company out there and just wanted to make a big buck off of reissuing dayz to consoles they wouldn't make the mistake of ruining the PC dayz because that's where it all started and that's where the fan base lies (as everyone agrees console gamers are usually more casual and cannot deal with certain things like bugs and such so why on earth would Bohemia studios or dean decide to just push dayz to consoles without completely finishing dayz on pc , or at least get it through to beta ) ? Answer is they wouldn't , simply because this (dayz) is their brainchild , I mean besides arma 3 bi doesn't have much out there that's this popular , they will not fuck it up cuz they know this is their chance to finally have a great PC game Ported to console. TLDR: have faith in Bohemia studios and dean , they ARE NOT dice or EA studios , so let's not pretend just because battlefield was a monstrosity that dayz will be the same way , that's like comparing apples and oranges and anyone who does that should not be taken seriously . Lay off of all the flaming ( cuz that's all this community does ) and start getting excited for something that EVERYONE wanted from the start (except for those snobby types that still believe it will ruin PC version , lawl).

Anyone know the time it takes to cook a deer steak ? Me and a friend have just made a fire inside a house after slaughtering a few deer an avoiding death at the northwest airfield , but we've now been cooking some steaks over an open fire for 10 minutes mow and their still raw , does it take 15 - 20 mins or is this a glitch ?

Let's all chill out about this , we ALL had the idea of crafting arrows since the beginning of standalone , pz wasn't original either considering people have wanted to be able to craft arrows from pillows and chickens feathers since the mod dayz ... I even suggested putting pillows in standalone in December before it arrived and many others did as well until we all found out you can't fletch with pillow feathers :/ ... But seriously everyone in their dayz life at some point has suggested some idea for craft able arrows so let's not try to claim ideas unless you're trying to patent it and make money off of it ;) . -
Well were definitely not aiming for the standalones loot respawn to be exactly like the Loot respawn in the mod , that'd be ridiculous everyone would have everything they need to repair vehicles , stay alive on infinite cAnned goods and most likely be able to find a gun within thirty minutes ... No we definitely need a much more sophisticated system that has parts of the old system in it and new dynamics that make it more complex and less predictable than in the mods , which is what they are doing we are just in one of those small steps towards having a great loot respawn system so things seem mad wonks son .. Long story short were gonna go through at least another month of the spawn system evolving like this until it's near perfect ( and by that I mean a system that keeps us at a relatively low loot level all around the server but keeps it moving and dynamic enough so that people can't exploit it as much or predict where things will be , also it will definitely have to have a good cycle of spawning so certain items aren't spawning too much or too little , which again is what were seeing now ; the loot respawn system being worked up to its final stage but unfortunately some steps throughout this process seem a little harder to play with than others ).
